Great use for vermicelli. We usually make them with shredded wheat, the small shredded wheat for small nest or the large shredded wheat for larger ones. Yours look fantastic. Lee xx
I made Bails of hay, using the extra large marshmallows (of course you the size use depend on size you need), I crushed up (by hand) the non frosted shredded wheat, melted a butterscotch chips,w/white chips (mainly cause that's what I had on hand and the color was perfect), dipped the marshmallows in the chocolate and rolled until covered in the shredded wheat. They looked so realistic and tasted amazing lol
I grew up with chocolate nests (though they were made with shredded wheat or corn flakes as a base). I tried this recipe today but was sadly disappointed. I made 3 muffin sized nests for myself, my husband and child (small socially distance Easter here) and we all agreed that while they were very pretty to look at, and created a beautifully realistic nest, they were not pleasant to eat. The noodles were too stabby in the mouth and got stuck between teeth very easily. Yes, technically they are edible (noodles and chocolate) but these work better as a display piece (such as decoration on a cake) not a treat by itself.
you're my new favorite channel because you don't have the glitz and glamour like so many bakers i see today..your kitchen is nice and quaint and you don't have your million dollar appliances on show. xxx
Oh my gosh Jenn how fun are those! I thought they were going to be super complicated, those would be so much fun to do with the kids on or before Easter! You are so the 👑
the bowl with the other bowl pressing down into it i would recommend for a party because the end of the video when you added the mini eggs that one seemed to hold a lot more which would be nice for party favors at an Eatser party. but if its just for you and the fam i would say the other one.
I did something like this but I used rice crispies for the nest insted of noodles. I think we added cocoa or something to make this rice crispies brown.
Such an awesome idea I love the more natural one ...hello from Perth Australia lol...oh would you consider doing 50 random facts would love to know about how you got your start in baking...what made you go on you tube and more....keep up the creative wonderful ideas you have loads of fans in Australia xxx
I can hardly wait to see the video on that awesome cake to your right! It is so pretty! A great Spring/Easter cake. When will it be ready for UA-cam? I love watching your videos - you are so creative. Thank you for sharing your great ideas with us.
I cannot wait to see that beautiful cake for Easter being made! nom nom :-D Love these little nests here! And yes now I will enjoy the video lol.. could not help to comment before watching it all! Just so excited for that cake to come!!
So I made a nest this way and it looks WONDERFUL and so realistic, but I have to say that yes, technically it's edible but it's really gross to eat. I went back out shopping but couldn't find the big shredded wheat biscuits so went back to the tried and true chow mein noodles. Doesn't look nearly as cool but at least it tastes good.
Omg!!!!! This is AWESOME!!!! I'm going to the kitchen to make these. The good thing is that i have all the ingredients.:) Oh, yeah i think that the first one was better.
I cant wait for the cake!! I love mini eggs! I work at Michaels and there is SO much easter stuff, its so inspiring!! I have been waiting for you to come out with something easter

Wow that sounds fantastic@@littlelady3895

Another great idea is peeps instead of mini eggs!
That's what I thought to when I saw this
Both nests look realistic the smaller one looks like a robin or a finch nest where as the other looks like a sparrow nest.
But I only have mini eggs in my country but we had mini eggs first
I dont do any housework HAHA
we use shredded wheat
does the same thing and a little bit more tasty :)
oh thanks
Oooh thanks for the idea!
I use queen ants to help me to chew up twigs and they lay big eggs for me and I cover them in chocolate.. 🐭🐭🌙🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜👸👑🐜🐜👸🐜👸🐸🐸🌕🚀🌜🎑🌙🌙🌙🌙👷🍬🍬🍭🍭🍭🎂🍰🐹🐹🐹
for 6 months I've been looking for a realistic easy to make chocolate nest, until now I havnt found 1 i like, but you darlin have nailed it!!
you're my new favorite channel because you don't have the glitz and glamour like so many bakers i see today..your kitchen is nice and quaint and you don't have your million dollar appliances on show. xxx
the both ways of the nests look both realistic to me honestly because i couldnt choose!
I like the second one best because it looks realistic but then the first one holds a lot more eggs so I would actually go with the first one
U can use shredded wheat and crumble them up too, I made them before I feel that it's an easier way than looking for rice noodles x
I like how the one in the big glass bowl came out looks more like birds nest thanks for this great idea loving it
我4
I think the one with the bowl. was that e better than the other one no afence
+Tracey Hazelton why would I be offended? It's a matter of taste
Me to
I prefer to use shredded wheat mixed with melted chocolate and moulded into nests.
Oh my gosh Jenn how fun are those! I thought they were going to be super complicated, those would be so much fun to do with the kids on or before Easter! You are so the 👑
those chocolate noodles are like a throwback to weird junk food like when I ate crunchy ramen noodles with the seasoning lol
The second one looks ways bettttteeeeeerrrrr!!!
I like the 2nd one that was formed in the mixing bowl. I love this idea for making nests.
So cute! Both nests are great, just depends on the look you're going for i guess! That cake look beautiful back there, can't wait to see that one.
I think the mini eggs are so adorable!💜
The noise of the chocolate while u were cutting it was satisfying and watching u cut chocolate also
Ikr
YES
!That's what I was thinking!
Lmao guess I wasn't the only one thinking that
HAILEEYY DIY I like what you said
I would fill it with many eggs to. The big bowl nest looked like a real nest
I like the big bowl of nest.
The mini eggs looks so different to the one we have in the UK
I was thinking the same thing!
the bowl with the other bowl pressing down into it i would recommend for a party because the end of the video when you added the mini eggs that one seemed to hold a lot more which would be nice for party favors at an Eatser party. but if its just for you and the fam i would say the other one.
I agree with you about the second nest looking better. Without the bowl. It looks more like a birds nest to me.
I like the one you did by hand
JEN ONCE AGAIN YOU DONE A GREAT CAKE/CUPCAKE/OWN CREATION YOU ARE THE BAKING CHAMPION/QUEEN★★★★★★★
I like the video when you made a chocolate birds nest
This is so cool! I prefer the 2nd way of making the bird's nest too! I would fill it with painted eggs! That would probably look cool too! :D
the big one looks the best
the one in the large bowl looks the best because it seemed more realistic
I love you're cakes also the raimbow cake and the Ester one but I like all of them
Oh wow that's sooo cool " worlds biggest calburys bag " so cool
little chunky chunks of snickers 🍫🍭🍬
When I was growing up, we used shredded wheat for the nests
+Jess Strudwick I remember that. We also used fried Chow Mein noodles.
I USE HUMAN SKULLS 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀🍭🍭🍬🍬🛀🌕🌙🌙👽👽👽👽
This is so cool and cute. I think the "big bowl" nest is more like a natural nest. :)
I think they turn out great
I like the one in the glass bowl
what might make the nests look more realistic is to add some can leaves or grass, things like that
I think the one you made last is the best 😀
I did something like this but I used rice crispies for the nest insted of noodles. I think we added cocoa or something to make this rice crispies brown.
I'm gonna try this but using Mini Wheat cereal instead of the noodles.
Yep that's a much better way to go
happy Easter!yay it's Easter today!
I love this! I've only ever seen them using the chow mein noodles I like this one much better!
these are so stinking cute!
1st
Jen!!! Your nails are SOOO pretty!!
I think peeps and eggs would be great
Nest looks great thanks
Such an awesome idea I love the more natural one ...hello from Perth Australia lol...oh would you consider doing 50 random facts would love to know about how you got your start in baking...what made you go on you tube and more....keep up the creative wonderful ideas you have loads of fans in Australia xxx
I think the second one is the one I like best
Those look very nice. Another great job, Jen!
i like the second one in the glass bowl
You might try some dried beans in the bowl on the first nest.
Really cute, I like the one that you didn't put the bowl in the middle!😍
I can hardly wait to see the video on that awesome cake to your right! It is so pretty! A great Spring/Easter cake. When will it be ready for UA-cam? I love watching your videos - you are so creative. Thank you for sharing your great ideas with us.

I like the second one too!🍳
Nifty idea!! You could also use large muffin pans to make them a little smaller. :)
Very creative and easy to do--thank you!
My favourite is the nest that was made in the bowl and smaller bowl
This is absolutely adorable; is the nest itself actually edible?
the 2nd one looks like a nest🐣🐤🐥💐
P.s instead of the noodles you could use weetabix
You could use 2 forks to spread and separate when covering the noodles in chocolate.
Jen does it taste nice the bit with the noodles in chocolate
Another way is that you get a pile of icing sugar and you drizzle some chocolate on top. The whole thing could be edible.
Is it yummy if the noodles are with the chocolate ones?
Shredded wheat also make great nests
I like the big bowl
2:30 I love your spatula!
I like the second idea a bit better
i like the one that looks more natural
I like the one you made.
You could fill it with peeps and mini eggs! :D
I prefer the big bowl method, it is easier, cleaner, more realastic and more pretty.
What a great idea!
I like how everything is so easy to make and can you show us how to make ALL cakes even cupcakes.
How is it edible and the noodles are not cooked?
+Amber Anderson They're made of rice. The rice is first cooked then shaped into noodles, then dried.
am woundering the same thing too
+Terry Fox ok thanks.
Valentina Donoso that's exactly what I said lol
+Amber Anderson ...same here i found it a bit weird but it looked good! the vermicelli part scared me lol
Does this taste okay? I really wanna make edible nests that aren't your usual shredded wheat ones to go on top of some cupcakes...
i think it would be cool to do a giant one to fill with regular cadbury eggs
I did this already but I sprayed the chocolate on. Very nice! 💞
+Mary Carlone how do you spay the chocolate??
By spraying it duh.
+John Ayala but how?
Mary Carlone ii
You are SO CREATIVE YOU ROCK YOU ARE SO AWESOME:D
Can you eat the noodles afterwards? How do they taste?
Looks very cool I like this idea. Those noodles do go everywhere lol
can we use pretzel sticks for the nests?
I liked the 2nd one 😋
is it just me, or the sound of when she was cutting the chocolate satisfying
Love it!! Can't wait to see that cake tutorial! :D
me to
I'd say the second best you made looks more bird nest like to me. thanks for sharing
Omg!!!!! This is AWESOME!!!! I'm going to the kitchen to make these. The good thing is that i have all the ingredients.:) Oh, yeah i think that the first one was better.
The packaging and the actual mini eggs are so different to ours here in the UK! (Both Cadbury's)
Super creative !
I like the one with glass boul
those noodles are called pancit in Philippines if u mix with carrot, vegetables, fishballs, sausage, and chicken, I am an Filipina
I like the first one
I cant wait for the cake!! I love mini eggs! I work at Michaels and there is SO much easter stuff, its so inspiring!! I have been waiting for you to come out with something easter

I agree with you the second nest
The eggs look neon
The hand made looks like real nest
