The procedure however is different in case of different types of land and also depends on the future land use. Direct purchase without any formality can be made of only those flats and plots (which i don't believe are transferred) can be made which are developed by HIMUDA. Lease is the safest option to circumvent the elaborate procedural rigmarole. Moreover the procedure for obtaining permission is quite in pernicious and painstaking. Also do not encourage people to buy land in HP for the simple reason that people from other cities come and they do not know the culture or the rituals/ belief system which exists nor are they accustomed to social situations prevailing. They have scant regard for it. Let the mountains be. A person who is called to the mountains must do so out of destiny.
