Please at least react to Daredevil. If Matt wants dark, he'll get it.
Cool but I will give it to someone who needs it must my girlfriend... Wish me luck😁
Whatever you do make sure you guys watch BATMAN VS SUPERMAN ULTIMATE EDITION🤝
Its only 5000 apparently
Holden you guys should react to the first episode of Superman And Lois, ots free on the CW app and I think that its one of the best Super Man Thing so far
I defend the final fight by thinking about how it's only Superman’s 2nd fight. He was also just immediately up against other Kryptonians, there was no in-between like bank robbers or lower tier supervillains. Also, Zod would not have allowed him to help people during the fight, he would want as many deaths as possible.
Exactly. Zod made it very clear that the only goal he had at that point was death and destruction. Zod would have started offing people immediately if Cal had tried taking the fight somewhere else. Not to mention every building that fell was due to Zods actions. Zod slicing a building down with his heat vision. Zod tossing Cal through the buildings by his cape. Zod kicking an oil tanker into a building. Zod destroying Wayne's satellite ultimately causing falling debris. Idk where people get the idea that the deaths of those people were Cal's fault.
@@isaacfloyd4023 than they say HE COULD HAVE ENDED IT QUICKLY but you can notice it wasnt like that zod quickly caute up to supermans level of control of the powers it was only that sups caute him in a good holding position he was able to restrain him because of the destraction of falling from space so no he had to actually fight this mad man who had nothing left he was born to protect his people he only knew to kill and fight for his people now that they ate gone he will stop at nothing to make Clark's people be GONE. SO no zod wasnt gonna be am easy push over
But if he is strong enough to break his neck wouldn't he be strong enough to choke him out and leave him unconscious? Killing him didn't seem like the only option there
@@jimmydcriket4086 My dude. Zod was already beyond saving. he had already made a declaration of genocide against the humans and had literally nothing else to live for from his own perspective. Plus Cal would not have been able to choke him out before that heat vision bisected those people. Breaking the neck was quicker.
Exactly and this movie also is Clark becoming Superman and of course him saving the world for the first time would be clumsy with lots of deaths. It also depicts how 2 godlike beings would fight in a city unlike other movies.
I love this movie, its my most underrated comic book movie
Absolutely
This movie i think was about answering the question of if a man can be good in a world that forces evil choices. And i liked the answer.
My favorite in the DCEU
The first guy to talk after they finished the movie, really annoyed me. I swear for the life of me, I don't know what movie he saw. He claimed millions of people died. What is he talking about? This is one of the most frustrating things about this film. People who don't like it, have to lie to justify their hatred of this movie because they can't articulate a rational argument.
@@keitht24 Superman literally slams himself through a lot of skyscrapers and buildings, tearing them apart violently. You telling me nobody died there? Are people not allowed to dislike the movie without being liars? That sounds kinda insecure.

@@NaniMetrix it's one of those generational things. I'm Generation X, born in 1978 (my father is a Baby Boomer), so Superman 1978 and its sequels including Superman Returns will always be Superman to me. Superman should not be a dark character. For that, we have Batman. 🙂

Not me, it's too dark. Superman 1978 all the way. 🙂
Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing "my friend watches" episode so far.
I was more excited for Matt's reaction of these movies than any other. They are very divisive and I was really interested in which side his opinions lay. However, Holden was cracking jokes during every dramatically impactful scene, or just outright making fun of the movie so much that I can't imagine Matt got a genuine experience with it. I by no means am a DCEU apologist, but I really hope Holden backs off with the constant digs... particularly for the next one.
They're much more intense movies and when you take someone out of the ambience of it... there were times he was talking over dialogue, talking over musical cues, atmospherically important moments. Just felt really uncomfortable watching it.
True, I agree
Yep! Holden was very annoying....the need to be funny during certain scenes and important ones were shredding my nerves. Quipping the entire time for whatever reasons rubbed me the wrong way....
Idk. The Star Wars order they used butchered it for sure, but I feel like here, as clear as Holden was against it particularly after the movie was done, I still think Matt was paying full attention to the film. It’s not a perfect film. It’s dense, probably more than it should be, and I think Jeremy was on the money about why the fight falls hard from a storytelling perspective. Like Holden is clearly trying his hardest not to drag this film XD but as much as this film gets right, it kind of shoots itself in the foot towards the end
Yep! I agree! He's very respectful of the movie he likes and very disrespectful of the movies he doesn't care for!
Yeah he was very annoying cracking jokes during the important scenes n talking over it was annoying n irritating
Young Clark - "Can we just pretend that I'm your son"
Pa Kent - "You are my son"
Ahh amazing moment!
Holden keeps talking through emotional moments. It just ruins it. It feels like he doesn't want the movie to breathe and has a slant against it. I love this movie.
it's really really annoying. . .honestly.
Does Holden hate the DC??

Wow I agree. ruined it for sure. Why all the talking over the scene's? This is too much for me.
I love how Matt loves the soundtrack as in my opinion one of the strongest soundtracks in modern comic book movies
What's the point of a reaction from Frist time watchers if your just gonna joke at every serious scene and explain why you think those scenes are stupid to them. You should be quiet when someone is watching a film for the first time so they can absorb the film fully and form their own opinion which is hard to do when you keep joking in every serious scene and complaining about things you don't like. They may take something completely different from this movie than maybe what you did but if you tell them why it's stupid your taking that away from them and they will just see the movie the same way you see it which makes their opinions at the end of the video not really matter
Spot on.

LOVE this movie. EDIT: I really don't know what people want superman to do, he can't get rid of Zod without fighting him and can't help people till Zod is gone. That's the point, is that he's being forced into a situation that's a loss either way.
I like to think back to other super hero films where they handed the same scenario and manage to do it. Feels like more of a struggle when their attention has to be split.

Not that other’s haven’t already said it but Holden reign yourself in. Don’t be that guy who shits on movies while people view it for the first time. You’re corrupting the entire point of a first watch. I assume it’s not intentional but it comes across incredibly childish. If you find yourself unable to not make snarky jokes/comments during most of the important scenes of a movies then most of your audience would probably prefer you just not cover those films. I think Clark was holding back in the sense that he didn’t want to kill Zod. We might think, “Come on, just kill him,” but Clark has never killed before. I think he was trying to stop Zod without killing him, but Zod was fighting to the death. I think that’s why Zod kept saying things like, “There’s only one way this ends, Kal!” Zod could tell Clark wasn’t fighting to the death, but Zod was. That family made Clark reconsider not because of who they were specifically, but because that’s when he accepted that Zod would never EVER stop. They can’t arrest him (we saw how well that went with Clark), and they have no place to keep him contained. That’s why Clark shouts “Stop!” And Zod says, “Never.” Clark realizes that killing Zod is the only way to stop him. You may not agree with Superman killing someone (I’m not sure how I feel about it), but I think the movie was trying to show us he wasn’t fighting to the death like Zod until that moment. That’s my two cents anyway! Great video!
“Clark has never killed before” 😂
What do you think happened when he needlessly flew into several buildings in a densely populated city, bro? It looked like super-9/11 by the time he was done.
@@spenser9908 He didnt flew, he was punched and fighting with a force he never had experienced before :) its a more realistic take on Superman with all its concequenses. Powerful like that a punch and a fight with a similar powerful being means destruction.
@@lucifer0247 No, he and Zod were throwing each other into buildings the whole time. Superman didn't think to take the fight elsewhere for some reason. But we're supposed to feel bad for him about killing Zod after he's blatantly killed thousands of people during the fight. Awful writing.
@@spenser9908 he couldn’t take the fight somewhere else lol and even if he tried Zod was still going to take the fight there because like he said “either you die or I will”

Matt: WHAT THE HELL IS A SNYDER CUT AND WHY IS IT SO LONG

@@lionelladvelino4795 every knows that the Ultimate Edition is better tho
you can't polish a turd just by calling it Ultimate Cut
yes very important cuz they cut alot of key plot points in the theater cut
For the criticism why he didn't try to save more people, he literally just got his suit just learned how to fly has no military combat fighting training, was able to hold his own against Zod, a general with combat training, until he got the advantage and got behind him, where he was able to break his neck.
If he would have tried to save more people, losing his focus on fighting Zod, Zod probably would have have won and killed everybody.
Yeah I really dont understand why people criticize it. Like the Smallville battle for example. That was the first time he had ever thrown a punch. It was the first time he had ever fought anyone, and his foes just happened to be highly trained elite Kryptonian soldiers with years of training. And I still cant believe people complain about him killing Zod. Zod said 10 minutes before that "I will make then suffer Kal, these humans you've adopted, I will take them all from you one by one". Zod was never going to stop killing people, and the only way to stop him was to kill him
EXACTLY !!Zod is a fearfull character that was born to do everything he can to protect his kind.He would not stop in an instant to kill as many people as possible to hurt supes, with the first probably being his mom. That's why he did not have a choice but to kill him and hate himself for doing it.
Superman saves the day. He didn’t save shit in this movie but me from having to endure another minute of this movie. Superman 1978 is one of the greatest superhero films in cinema. Man of steel was solid but it is far from a “masterpiece” or anything these fans claim this film is. If you think it’s a masterpiece that’s fine, it’s your opinion... but honestly I’d pick returns over this movie tbh.

I half agree. The humor adds a lot to the videos, but if its constant talking when the film is going on it takes away from the reaction, for me at least.
Well would ya look at that, Matt himself does not care, so shut up fanboys.
Man stfu
I don’t get the point of view that Jeremy had regarding the ending fight scene about all the people bystanders being injured or killed during the fight. Them same regarding the argument in the MCU about the sokovia accord. If the super heroes don’t fight the bad guys, the bad guys take over and kill and torture and imprison even more or all. So I understand the concern but the logic is not there. :)
and they blamed superman for the destruction at the beginning of the world engines fight. But Superman was on the other side of the world stopping the one there, Superman couldn't save the people in Metropolis and he snapped Zods neck because Zod said he would never stop harming the humans and Superman didn't want that so the only way to stop him was kill Zod.
Yep. Doesnt make sense, its like complaining that there was civilian casualties stopping the nazis. Yes it sucks but its better than the alternative. Also not done on purpose.
I’ll be honest, I’m a hardcore Marvel fanboy. With that being said I don’t understand the hate MoS gets. I really like it a lot and I even like BvS. I wish they could keep what they have going with these characters and the actors seeing as how Cavill probably isn’t going to be Superman anymore and Affleck obviously isn’t Batman. I wish it would’ve worked out.
Most of the hate from mos was just critics complaining about the destruction and zods death. I always say it was his first day on the job he really didn’t know what to do

I always felt that Jonathan Kent was struggling too. Like he truly believed in helping others and doing your best, but loved this miracle child so much that he was trying to suppress that to make sure he stayed safe. The score by Hans Zimmer, the tribute to christopher Reeves, the action scenes i love absolutely everything about this movie..BvS not so much..and everything that came after...The studio really fucked up something that could have been good if they just would have taken their time..like Batman after Man of Steel and then Man of steel 2 and maybe an other movie before going in to BvS and Justice league..

People still have an issue with destruction but when avengers do it, it’s no issue....😑
Did you see Avengers blowing buildings up? No. Avengers were defending a city and evacuated the civillians while Superman just flies through multiple buildings which collapse on hundreds of people lol
I mean its always an issue in superhero stuff least the MCU acknowledged it in Cap civil war, it does bother me that Superman in this didn't try to make an effort to save more people like he could have taken Zod or lead them to a desert area instead of the city
Did you just skip over Civil War?
Exactly. Like New York was literally a cemetery at the end of avengers with no mention of it and nobody said shit. I mean infinity war used Thanos ship like it was the world engine and people still said nothing.
@@Narutoanime16g it was his first day as a superhero. It’s not like he dealt with any super powered beings before.
I definitely didn’t like Johnathan Kent’s interpretation in this movie, I grew up with the Johnathan Kent from Smallville who to me was the best Jonathan Kent outside comics
Probably one of the worst things about this movie, almost everything he said and did was terrible and his death was completely pointless and unnecessary.
It's like rewriting Uncle Ben's death in Spiderman. Jonathan Kent dying due to a heart attack was something that reinforced that Clark, even with all his abilities and powers, couldn't save him and carried with him.
The movie needed to spend less time on the Krypton stuff and more time on how the Kents are the reason why Superman is a boy scout. Superman's abilities come from his Kryptonian ancestry, but his values come from being raised by the Kents in Smallville. Instead of teaching Clark to fear and doubt people, Jonathan Kent should have been the reason why Superman has the values he does. I took this terrible portrayal of Jonathan Kent as urban people (the writers of this movie) completely missing the mark on rural people. Kevin Feige would have never let the character be so misrepresented.
I also feel that Mark Waid got it wrong. Superman does not represent hope. Hope is passive. Hope is waiting around for someone to fix things for you or that things will just get better on their own. Superman represents inspiration. Superman does good things, plays be the rules, and never kills because he knows that people look up to him and he inspires other people to do the same.
I wholeheartedly agree but this Jonathan was just a man who didn’t know how to deal with this stuff, it’s honestly very realistic for a parent to say they don’t know the right answer to a problem they haven’t faced
The issue is the execution I think, he kinda comes off like he doesn’t really consider it, but yet again, maybe he never really had to cuz he’s not so good, maybe this Jonathan has a bad past and Clark was his chance to try his best

@@icemav5740 that’s because Superman Boy Scout attitude is a product of how he was raised and not of him being a superhero. That’s where MoS fails big time
@@mercutioescalus6782 I think it's you who fails
@@mercutioescalus6782 No. Superman's Boy Scout attitude was a product of the times in which he was rebooted. 1986, Superman became the Big Blue Boyscout, prior to that, you had Bronze Age Superman, who was hella arrogant, Silver Age Superman who was a real dick and Golden Age Superman who was damn near villainous in how he acted. I will elaborate beginning with Golden Age Superman. Superman was found by Mary and Jonathan Kent, soon to be renamed Martha and Jonathan. He was taken to an orphanage and left for several days until Jon and Mary came back to adopt him. He came to Metropolis in 1938 after Ma and Pa had died. He was aggressive, tough, arrogant and cared NOTHING for damage done to criminals or property even when said property had nothing to do with criminal behavior. Superman lost a friend to a car accident so he went around stealing people's cars and sticking them on their garage roofs. He stormed into a radio broadcast while it was on the air, took over and demanded that people stop driving and then he smashed through the wall to leap away. He found a bunch of people living in slums and just burned down the slums so the owner would have to build better homes, with no thought towards where all the now homeless people will stay. He routinely threw criminals several yards through the air towards the paddy wagon with no concern if they broke bones.
Silver Age Superman, Ah, Silver Age, when Superman was made ridiculous thanks to the Comics Code Authority. I will simply refer to Superdickery.com for everything that Silver Age got up to.
Bronze Age Superman was very arrogant, he told Martian Manhunter to hand over a key that Mongul wanted and Martian Manhunter said no so they fought. Supes easily beat MM and MM warned him of what would/could happen if Mongul got the key. Superman blew off MM's concerns with, "I'm Superman." as if that was all that was needed. Supes lost the key and had to eat a little crow, but he was still arrogant about it. Wolverine has his famous line, "That's my job, that's what I do, and I'm the best at what I do." That was Superman's attitude throughout the Bronze Age.
Modern Age Superman, the one rebooted in 1986, was the All American boy, football, baseball, track star with a genius intellect through his school career, using his powers to put himself ahead until he became a senior and finally realized that he was not being fair to the boys that actually worked hard to play. He quit and decided to be a better person. He left school after graduation and traveled the world experiencing different cultures before returning home and moving to Metropolis.
I remember first hating it when it came out, I just didn't care about anyone or anything and I thought it was just too fucking long, especially the last 40 minutes. But now after 8 years I have finally rewatched it twice in just one week because I was hyped up after watching the Snyder Cut. And now I absolutely loved nearly everything about it, I can't believe how much my opinion has changed, but I mean I was 12 years old when I first watched it and I wasn't that much into the movieworld yet. I find it interesting to hear people say that Superman has no real weaknesses when he has the worst weakness of the lot; his empathy. His desire to save people and keep them safe is his weakness and it feels like the people who make Superman movies don't really get that because how do you not have villains who try to exploit that. It almost feels like Joker would be a better villain for Superman rather than someone who can withstand Superman's punches.
You guys talked through this more than about 4 previous videos together. Not sure if you noticed it, or if it was on purpose.
Cap: we don't trade lives.
Zack Snyder: left the chat.
Lol
😂
When people say Superman is too powerful, I feel like they don’t get it. To me I feel like it’s supposed to open up new possibilities in story telling by having someone who is that powerful, and how the other characters experience that.
Edit. That really ties in to what Jeremy is saying at 24:00
He just gets outshined easy by the better characters. He is actually good in only comics and animation.
Exactly, the powers opens narratives about what the fight is talking about on metaphorical level. And it's talking a lot.

Alot of these questions will get answered in BvS
I think Jonathan Kent's ideology makes a lot more sense, especially just considering the DCEU's darker tone. The Kent's are human and they really don't know Clark's true ultimate abilities. They just know he is there son who they love. When Clark is a child and during the tornado scene, there is no Superman yet, which I think is kind of what Matt was touching on about Superman making his own decisions. Because Jonathan doesn't know how the world will react to Clark and how much he loves/is concerned about him, he is willing to question if Clark should reveal himself. At the point when Jonathan dies, I think he is still worried about Clark's future but he also knows if Clark were to reveal himself, that Clark wouldn't be ready yet for the world to see who he really is.
A lot of their problems with the movie are just them focusing on one specific thing that happened in the movie and then skewing it in order to make it seem like its a huge deal. It also feels like they flat out didnt pay attention at certain parts
I like how Jor-El aspires for a child not burdened by societies expectations, and instead tells his son exactly what HE expects him to do.
Is that really any better, man?
Yes he is. Suoermans burden is bejng a good man, in doing so he'll be the bridge. If being a good man is a bad thing I am not sure where to go from there,
@@samuelbishop3316 His reasoning for a natural birth is to have a child not burdened by societies expectations. Instead, he puts his own expectations on him. It's substituting one expectation for the other. I'm not making a commentary on what the expectation is. For all you know, Krypton would have made him a pre-school teacher or something.
@@samuelbishop3316 the "You have to show them the way Kal-El" spiel is more than living like a good man.
Saying that he has to be the intermediary between Earth and Krypton etc. Is putting a lot of things on his shoulder. Beyond being a "good person"
cmon, you seriously believe that genetically changing a newborn baby to fulfill a predetermined societal role which the baby can't control or change in the future is the same as telling someone to try to be good?
this movie wasn’t by any means perfect but i actually really really enjoyed it and never understood how people didn’t at least think it was good
Because they are spammed cheesy joke ridden super hero movies, so they expect the same flavour with everything else.
Can tell the way child like jokes were interjected at every opportunity which is just weird.
The most egregious thing in this movie for me his Clark's relationship with Johnathan Kent.
The change to him wanting Clark to hide his powers make some sense with the time the movie was made but his death was fucking stupid.
Him just choosing to die is stupid. The classic death of him dying from a heart attack, thus showing Clark that for all his power that he isn't a god. He cannot save everyone. It's so much better than this stupid tornado death.
I mean preferances are allowed here, but Snyder did it differently here bc it had an important part in the narrative for Clark’s story.
ALSO Jonathan Kent always wanted Clark to become a hero in this. But he also wanted for Clark to be safe and wait until the world was ready. BvS deals with that Superman is the “dream of a farmer from Kansas.”
Also, I think the cities deaths were worth saving the entire world from these invaders. BvS actually deals with all these questions.
Also, as a kid, Clark was wearing a cape as an expression of his subconscious memories of Kryptonians. He’s not pretending to be a superhero, he’s pretending to be a Kryptonian.
So, about Superman holding back. Honestly, he's been holding back his entire life. Not only because his father told him too, but because he doesn't know just how powerful he is. A thing to note, though, is he's never been in a fight. And in the fight, he wasn't just focusing on fighting. He was also saving lives when he could. But the other Kryptonians wouldn't let him. He did his best while holding back. If he truly just went all out, I'm not sure anyone in the city would have survived.
Dude, is Jen wearing a Soilwork shirt?? 🤯 She just got a hell of a lot cooler (more than she already was)
Lmao I wish Jenna was here! She would tell y’all to stop the damn jokes!
Thank you!
I think Matt will absolutely hate Aquaman I don’t know why but it just seems way to sci-fi for him especially the end battle
It’s so cheesy but I kinda enjoy it it remind of the hack Michael bay
Yeah I think that too, as Emo Peter said, it’s cheesy but that’s because it full on embraces the weird and cheesy elements of Aquaman, which I think was the best way to make the movie because of the bad reputation that the character had for a long time
@@SpiderBatFan I liked it I just think that he will hate it
He's going to say it reminds him of stars wars I can already hear it
People crap on Jon Kent for saying he doesn't know if Clark should have let the kids died. But, as a parent, what would you really say to your son who you want to keep safe? Expose yourself and possibly be feared, hated, and/or take? I LOVE that Jonathan struggled with his answer and not knowing what exactly to say, because THAT is parenting most the time. He lets Clark make his own decision on what is right and what to do
this is just marvel fans watch man of steel. contradict is part of the story. pa Kent doesn't say yes or no he says MAYBE. highlighting theres a grey area in the modern world in relation to heroism and refugee immigrant aliens from the stars. Its just a movie that shows the world has become too complex for a black and white pure Superman.
This film is a f..ing masterpiece 9.5 oh and Holden, stop with the talking and bad jokes. your not funny, just let the others enjoy the movie.
lol cry
Agreed. Annoying.
I didn't mind you showing the clips for Superman and Superman 2 tbh. Just surprised the videos didn't get taken down since it shows quite a bit of the movie with no resizing 😂
Way too much talking on rather than watching the film lol, come on
This was a very good reaction video. The critique game has grown in each of you... Impressive, most impressive.
The length of the movie does effect the story. (Zac Snyder is known for too much time length in his films).
I thought this was a somewhat fresh retelling of the origin story of Superman. 7.5 score and is rewatchable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this reaction. I love the DCEU, obviously it has it's flaws but I have always been drawn to it. Jeremy brings up some fantastic points, and I can understand it, but they did plan for that and used it to fuel the next film Batman VS Superman.
Also the sentiments to Matt's comments about the deaths, I 100% agree. Superman usually holds himself back due to his morality, when it came to realising that Zod wasn't going to stop, he had to put him down. The number of lives lost there as a travesty, he should have eliminated the threat straight away, just like Batman should just take out the Joker as soon as one life is lost. Obviously for movies sake they don't do that, but if it was reality, that's my opinion on it.
My issue is that I think that's making what I think would work more to, at least, start as a this movie issue with the metropolis destruction, and progress it into the next movie, instead of what I think happens: This movie has this thing happen and doesn't develop it, but it'll happen in the next one.
This is one of the most ethically bankrupt movie I have ever seen... and it's putting aside the stupid lose of lives. They put in all the faux moral & philosophical argument only to draw the wrong conclusions. Everything about this movie is build on wrong premise and world view.
@@biocapsule7311 100%. If it was the real world, this would have been completely different and it is easy to draw comparisons to the real world as these movies start to progress into being more "realistic", luckily they somewhat "resolve" it in the next movie, I would give my opinions on the next movie in this comment with how they deal with it but I don't want to in case any of the guys do see this and they haven't seen the next movie, not a fan of spoilers.
@@BigDaveSE For me, the next movie didn't fix anything. They try to fix what they think are "problems"... but since they never understood what was wrong in MoS. It just feels like double down. And that's putting aside the contrive attempt to force BvS to happen.
@@maxdrags3115 Don't like it, don't read it. If you disagree, at least put up a fight.
Make sure you watched the Ultimate Edition of BVS, it gives Clark some much needed screen time.
17:50 that vegeta and nappa reference was funny tho
on Matt’s argument about Supes saving that family, i think it was more about the fact that he even offered Zodd the chance to quit or give up, but when Zodd said “Never.” Supes knew he end to end it before it went further. If he couldnt even stop Zodd from killing that family, then Zodd was irredeemable,
edit: this is my favorite DCEU film, which i know isnt saying much, but i give this a solid 9/10. The rest of the DCEU (aside from Wonder Woman) wishes it could be this good.

Matt is getting more patient with movies and I love to see it. Much more enjoyable to watch.
I'd like to see Holden do a little less of the funny remarks during movies. If you're watching like The Room or an old horror film, or a movie everyone has seen before, it can be great to throw some jokes in there. But when its a big movie with serious moments people watching havent seen before i feel its out of place, and can take something away from the others watching. Now, Matt and Jen and the others might not care, but im bringing it up because it would bother me if that happend. That being said, great content, keep it up!
You all are out of your mind. This movie is a damn masterpiece
the rest of the DCEU is pretty much trash except for Wonder Woman and shazam
@@CONLEYMUSIC I think Man of Steel, Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam are all very good to amazing, but all the others are mediocre to trash.
Once he is a father he know why Jonathan Kent say what he say…… it always the safety of your children first… that why he didn’t say yes, he say maybe with a heavy heart… and he stick to his word…… and his now wife mention she prefer having flash back sprinkle around… (which is what the movie did) 😂
7:34 I see you back there Jeremy ! Great horror movie style background acting 😂
I don't know why people are complaining. They talk during every movie and it's never been an issue. If you're gonna watch a movie with your friends and sit there in silence, you might as well just watch the movie by yourself 😂 When they talk about the movie while watching it, it makes the video more entertaining. I don't want to watch a video of some people just sitting there watching a movie in silence. That would be boring
Yep
General Swanwick is the Martian Manhunter aka Harry Lennix Guys ;) he was there all along!
I heard one story of a woman who was called in to her sons teacher's office at school. It seemed that the son was telling lies to the other students. When the mother asked, "What has he been saying?", the teacher responded, "He's been saying that Superman is his uncle, and he sees him all the time." "But he wasn't lying", said the mom. "Henry Cavil is my brother." The next day, Henry Cavil walked with his nephew to school at the request of his sister.
Taste is subjective.. Man Of Steel is a MASTERPIECE 👌
I feel like the fun facts and the one-liners happen more and more frequently with every video
As for his "weakness to magic" well he's NOT weak vs magic; he's just simply not INVULNERABLE to it. Magic affects him the exact same way as everyone else. THAT doesn't make it a weakness; it makes magic effective.
Superman lives by the principal of not killing, it is what makes him a symbol of hope and a true hero.
Not his house of EL emblem he wears on his chest even though that emblem do symbolize hope.
Superman always looks for a way that avoids killing, but with General Zod there is none because the only thing that could possible hold General Zod would be the Phantom Zone, which was destroyed.
19:29 clearly they have never even received the brochures for the “Prometheus school of running away from things”

15:29 think at the time this came out about year after the superman earth one comic.
earth one ( i really recommend reading these) is a dc earth that fuses the aspects of golden age (1930s to early 1950s) and silver age (1950s to mid 1970s) heroes into one in a modern day setting. batman wasnt this super martial arts, skills fighter trained by assassins and mercenaries. he is traditonal detective with his form of combat is military hand to hand taught by alfred who use to be british special forces with alfred teaching bruce how to sneak, blend into the crowd, counter knife fighters or ppl with guns and such. alfred sucked as a butler though but he promise bruce he will guide him in some for and thats how to fight and survive against criminals in gotham.
superman like here is a damn intelligent. he able to solve most known science equations and formulas quickly and its thanks to the kryptonian database infuse into his brain. before joining daily planet he went to a science facility to become a sciestist but later when he saw how lois and others help ppl despite not super smart, gadgets and such clark wants to be around ppl that aint super but still help those in need. plus this reality lex luthor exists but the main luthor threat is his wife alexandria. lex is on superman side to a bit but his wife doesnt trust him. something happened later and she becomes a threat to superman.
wonder woman is WAY out there ngl and thats base on the original history of her especially the the author and his wife. recommend reading golden age wonder woman before this or else your gonna wonder wtf is going on especially at mid way of vol 2 and recent final volume. oh and wonder woman in here she is perfect version of looking butch from golden age ot sexy in silver. she is bricc as hell and love it.
I really think everyone needs to just chill in regards to Holden's comments throughout the movie because from my understanding he is always like that, but a lot of it is typically edited out. Look at when he watches movies with Jen, he jokes around during those movies through literally the entire thing and it doesn't ruin it for either of them. They're a group of friends watching a movie and just generally having fun with it, there's no need to dunk on them for it.
Yeah I get that but I can see why many people are pissed off. Watch his reactions to Captain America movie and compare it to this one. You'll see
@@captainbatman7613 I can see it but I really just think that people made a way bigger deal of it than it actually was, especially since Matt said in the BvS video that it didn't ruin it for him. Like I said before, it seems like Holden talks through most of the movies that they watch, possibly all of the ones that they watch, but it's typically edited out. It felt like a lot people were angry specifically because he was talking during this movie when he talks more often, we just don't hear it as much.
My theory is that army general is Martian Manhunter in disguise
It’s confirmed
The discussion at the end, that Superman only killed Zod when he was killing that family, and no-one else dying was important really annoys me. Superman tried constantly to take the fight away from the city, even to space but Zod brought it back every time. When Zod was trying to laser the family Superman was begging him to stop. When Zod said 'never' it was the confirmation that killing him was the only way to save everyone.
I gotta say, nothing like making out in the graves of thousands of people

13:19 Super-Dick move - sure the trucker was asking for it but was that actually his truck? Did he really deserve to basicly lose his job? The fast zoom with the ship in the atmosphere was cold tho!
I'd recommend watching BvS Ultimate Edition Rather than the theatrical one
Superman doesn't kill. Of course he was holding back... well, kind of. He is giving his all in fighting, but he didn't want to kill. You see him suffer after killing Zod. Superman is my favorite superhero ❤💙
Where is Jenna??I missed her here 😫
Exactly, that he’s just starting out, he truly hasn’t come into his power yet, put that with Zod being a Kryptionian general, he’s obviously going to have a hard time fighting him (and his Lieutenants)
The Issue with the loss and destruction at the End is core to the story of BvS.
Wow DCEU fans in the comments genuine can't take that they didn't overly love the film. It's an opinion
Holden was shitting all over the film.... But Spiderman 2 is a masterpiece (of shit).
I’m baffled by this idea that Man of Steel is “dark and gritty” it’s really not
Its more about the colour-grading, Which is really gritty
My problem with DCEU is that it's pretentiously dark not thematically.
Either comics or the animated stuff is easily hundred times more effective at it.
Ignoring them making superman too depressed, a murderer, and distant and acting dead inside even though raised on Earth. Makes sense though. They fucked up Jonathan so he is a bad influence.

There's a whole movie in the MCU talking about this exact issue. Stop spewing bullshit before it makes you look like an idiot. This exact issue is at the core of Civil War.
@@haridaspalleeri6765 hahaha wait. Movie critics only exist in the film itself? Thank you. I didn't know.
I think what this movie is missing the most, and the Reeve version did so well, was Superman actually saving people in peril. The earthquake scene at the end of Superman The Movie had those wonderful scenes of Supes just flying from location to location, saving folk. Kids on buses. Flooding towns. Trains about to be derailed.
The Metropolis fight at the end of part 2. It featured the citizens watching in awe and horror, as Superman took on Zod.
It had heart and stakes.
This one, visually spectacular. But empty. And yes, one of the most vocal complaints was the level of destruction and death that occurs during this battle. Realistic? Probably.
Is it something that Superman would ignore? Hell no.
Some shots of him zipping around saving folks WHILE also fighting Zod, would have been amazing.
Overall, I enjoy this take. Henry is wonderful.
It’s just not my Superman.
