  • Never driven this one on public road as was waiting for it to be 40 year tax and MOT exempt . Put a red top in that had lying around for a decade or more plus older style gearbox reversing to left and back. They seem stronger as both my Riatos came here with bad gearboxes RH reverse boxes that had clearly been run low on oil due to rear seal fail. Went OK but quite a difference in engine revs compared to the red one with the 2.75 diff. Original bonnet was lost January 2023 when it was being trailered up to Scotland by a friend as non runner unseen purchase having been loaded backwards when bonnet unlocked. A big mistake! Drives nice enough. MX5 seats fitted in front of this one by a PO so sit far lower than my red one.

You weren't lying when you said you were "about" to try it out... Looks like it's in pretty good shape, at least visually.

It's been awaiting a trial for a couple of weeks. Messaging about it spurred me on to fit the red bonnet, wash it, put back the two engine side panels, fuel it and throw some tools in to try it along the A75. Not the best of roads for first trial but it got back after about 5 or 6 miles.
