my grandma is about to pass away, i just got her copy of "ten little indians" by agatha christie, we used to talk about it a bunch, easily one of my favorite books to this day
Pretty sure they were talking about the Native Americans ( who were also called red Indians ). Their accent sounds like an old American accent so they aren't British.
They were all supposed to die (ie the name) but Vera and Lombard fell in love (because WW2 was going on and it was already to depressing). I highly recommend reading the book (the newest version) for the best version of “And then there were none.”
I like how some of the verses foreshadow the characters' fates. For example, the butler serves Nikita his drink during the "chopped himself in halves" verse, where Rogers meets his fate.
I looked up "in chancery" and it has two definition-one is "in process of litigation in a court of equity," and the other is "in an awkward or helpless situation." I may be way off the mark here, but I wonder if in this case, it wasn't a bit of wordplay? A legal definition, because the victim was a judge, but also he was in quite a helpless situation.
0:07-0:17 Ten And Nine Little Indian Boys 0:30-0:43 Eight And Seven Little Indian Boys 0:53-1:06 Six And Five Little Indian Boys 1:16-1:29 Four And Three Little Indian Boys 1:40-1:53 Two And One Little Indian Boy
As interesting as the 2015 mini-series is (production qualities great, but it depends too much on sex and graphic violence to tell the tale, things Christie did not stress in the original story), this is still my favorite version of “And Then There Were None.” It’s a liberal adaptation, but not to the point where the spirit of Agatha Christie’s suspenseful book is lost.
Most of 7th grade in my school watched this movie in English a couple of days ago. The song is now stuck in most of our heads, but it is an AMAZING movie. (The judge is Mr.Owens)
"One overslept himself and then there were eight" my cousin once told me that meant that someone waited until he fell asleep and stuck a pin into his neck. Then he choked to death in his sleep. Was this true. Also what does it mean to get into chancery?
That one little Indian became the PM of the Million and millions of Britisher.Never in their horror they thought that little Indian would handle the helm of their Nation .😂
He may be funny here, but he was horrible in the book. He was constantly arrogant and had more remorse for losing his drivers’ license than the two children he ran over.
I sing this song every time one of my seven gays friends has their phones searched by their parents. Their parents find out they are gay and ground them for life. four are left... I miss my friends I will be the last one and then there will be none because the same way the last Indian boy died I will die too

@Edward Liu a touhou reference. it's the dialogue between one of the protagonists (Marisa) and the extra boss (Flandre) after beating the boss yourself, and they started "singing" this.
@Edward Liu Oh no, it's just my best girl Yukari Yakumo. She's an official character of Touhou in the 7th installment of the series as the Phantasm stage boss.
+Joseph Camp Actually in this story, the guy's name is Prince Nikita Starloff. And Wargrave in this is Francis J. Quincannon. And General Macarthur is General Mandrake.
YES it is racist. However, at the time, people just didn't think about it. It's our job to teach ourselves and others that this isn't acceptable anymore. Such as myself, I used to buy dreamcatchers and called NAs Indians, but I learned. Can't be mad at ignorance, guys. Let it goooo.

Welp. Movies can be dissapointing. But I personally think this version is more optimistic than the book.
yea, that was the hollywood version, the original, had vera hang herself and wargrave (the killer) commited suicide

It’s better when “Lombard” sings
I like how some of the verses foreshadow the characters' fates. For example, the butler serves Nikita his drink during the "chopped himself in halves" verse, where Rogers meets his fate.
I think it's all of the verses, which is why the author of the book added the poem to begin with
