    Well done. Unlike most you showed everything and didn’t talk it to death.

    I love it! I would totally live in that RV. You guys really made it your own and it came out great. You need to do a bunch of videos about RV life. You could make a little tv show out of it. Great job!

    When the RV is on the move, do you secure the decorations or put them away?

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  4 роки тому

      Great question! The short answer is yes they get put away :) not everything has to move but there are a lot of things that do and we convert some spots like the shower into storage zones for traveling

    I have a similar footprint in the front of my RV, I really want to remove the chair. How difficult was that process? I noticed the plate bolted to the floor for a lot of your reno, how did you get that out? Did you have to go from underneath?

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  2 роки тому

      Oh man. The chair. We had to saw off the top of the bolts on the inside (chair side) and then push them down through the floor. Then fill the holes in the floor. I don't know if there is a better way but that's what we did

    It looks incredible!
    Did I miss where you said what type/brand of heavy duty paint you used?
    Did you use an undercoat (like Kilz) or anything or was it all finish paint?
    Did you use flat, eggshell, semi-gloss or gloss finish?
    Did you use the same paint on the wood cabinets as on the "paper" walls?

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you!! We used Behr Marquee ultra pure white in satin finish. We used the same paint on all the walls and cabinets. The difference is that we used primer (Kilz) on the cabinets/wood surfaces and only paint on the walls. Without the primer the paint doesn’t stay long term on the wooden surface (I know because I did an experiment and the paint started to peel). On the walls the paint has stayed on and been scratch proof. So far it’s all holding up 🤞🏻

    Where do you eat? Not a fan of dinettes, and I love your couch, just confused where you put a table.

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  2 роки тому +1

      We eat on the couch or bed. We don't eat together so we didn't want to take up space with a table. We talked about using TV trays that could be put away under the couch but never ended up getting any

    I am looking into building one with my boyfriend. Could you tell me a time estimate of how long it took for you to get from start to finish? And maybe an approximate cost for doing the flooring?
    Thank you!

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  4 роки тому +1

      The floor replacement cost about $400 total. That includes the flooring planks (we got the most hardcore option because we knew we would have a lot of foot traffic on every inch of floor and it was also one of the more expensive options), the equipment rental, and floor primer. The flooring we completed in a day and a half. Half of that time I was working on it alone. Great question!
      In terms of total time to renovate it, we really don't have a good estimate for that. The process got very drawn out by work and budget schedules. For example, we would buckle down on painting over a weekend, but then we also did some painting here and there for an hour during the week. We spent time waiting on finances to order certain parts, etc. Some days we had groups of friends over to help and some days it was only me working on it... :/ Sorry we can't share a good estimate on the time it took to complete. All I can say is that it was totally worth it!

      Yup! He's usually out and about a few hours a day when we're home. He loves to sit on the back of the driver's seat when we're in the kitchen and has two other perches in the house (1 next to the couch and 1 in the bedroom). Thanks for the question! I'll be sure to show his perch spots when we do the full tour :)

      I did it as a full timer. Not regretting one minute of it. But for me I have a problem of letting go of stuff. But everyday I work on it. I will live in my RV until they wheel me out feet first to the morg.😁
      I like yo say, not sure where I heard it, or IF I made it up... HOME IS, WHERE I PARK IT.

    Were is your dining table?

    • @kaptainkootie2377
      @kaptainkootie2377  4 роки тому +1

      Short answer : We don't have one! Removing the dinette entirely was one of the decisions we made to better suit us because we never used a dining table in our house, so we decided to not use up our limited space on a dining area in the RV. We eat on the couch or the bed right now. We very rarely eat meals together at home so it works for us. Thanks for the question and good eye!

      @@kaptainkootie2377 thank you for your hones respond. Looking forward for more of your videos. I'm especially interested in tips on storage and downsizing, I'm so bad with that in my 27' class C.
      Happy travels.

      I’m sure you’re doing so much better than you think! Downsizing into an RV is already a huge feat. Great topic suggestion about organizing and downsizing 😊 I’ll start to organize my thoughts and process on it and get it into video form!
