YES. MX is "grown folx music". Seeing this live was one of the highlights of 2022! They do some incredible songs. Nobody Else is also a damn BOP.

Gentlemen, I am so glad you heard this. And u picked up on the song they sampled. Yes your correct the it was Blackstreet's "No Diggity" that you heard. What you might not know is exactly how influential that song is on k pop in general. It is said that k pop is based off of 90's American hip hop. But it's more than that. You see when k pop first started in the 90's, a man by the name of Lee Soo Min, (old CEO of SM Entertainment) he knew that he loved the sound 5hat was coming out of America and that the kids of Korea would love it just as much. So he made a decision. He called everywhere in the U.S. at the time, trying to find producers to help create a new sound in Korea. There was one that agreed to go over to Korea and help train producers in the art of hip hop producing. That producer was none other than the Co creator of New Jack Swing, Teddy Riley. Now Teddy spent damn near a decade in Korea. Now he is back living in Las Vegas. But while he was there he produced some of the best k pop songs of the time. He even taught a young man by the name of Teddy Park who is currently the executive producer and the only one for Blackpink. He taught a lot of them. But he also introduced them to a lot of our music. So a lot of artists in Korea today grew up listening to Blackstreet and the same. Why do you think all these artists over there are so good. And trust me Gentlemen if you don't believe me, check out the producing credits of some of SM artists from 2nd and 3rd Gen. I believe Super Junior as well as EXO are part of Teddy's producing credits. I don't believe he knew how big it would get when he went over to Korea, just that he wanted to help.
@stephanielemons2995 gave a kpop history lesson and spoke the truth! Teddy Riley as Stephanie said was the first. He opend the door for some of the best producers/songwriters from the US/Europe today to work in kpop. Dem Jointz, Adrian McKinnon, Vedo, Mike Daley, Max Martin and their home grown producers Teddy Park, Kenzie, and Suga just to name a few. The SM training program was derived from the Motown training system. Motown honed their artists in the 1950's, 60's and 70's. Berry Gordy pioneered the idea an artiste's success could be charted if they treated their career the way workers treated products at an assembly line. As Gordy put it, "Create a place where a kid off the street could walk in one door, an unknown, go through a process, and come out another door, a star." What resulted from this idea was the Motown Quality Control system: producers submitted products for a vote, and in survival-of-the-fittest style, the best ones would make the cut to be sung by artistes, including the Miracles, Temptations, Four Tops, the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Jackson 5, all selected through an equally rigorous and ruthless process. Gordy had essentially developed a hit-making factory.Motown artists had vocal training, public speaking, posture, walking, stage presence, etiquette, dance , personal grooming among other training. This model was taken on by a Japanese talent agency in the early 60's and in the 1996 Lee Soo-man took Motown's blueprint and improved upon it in creating SM Entertainment, to make some of the best and most talented artists in Kpop (Shinee, EXO, NCT). Then other South Korean Entertainment companies followed.

Yes more Monsta X! They do have a lot of grownup music lol. When I saw their cover of Versace on the Floor, I knew they were the right group for me. You can pick any MX song and it will not disappoint. I recommend Jealousy, Wanted (Japanese release), Gambler, and Kiss or Death.
