  • Painting French doors and paned windows is a pain in the butt. I decided to try using liquid masking tape to make the job easier and it works! There are different versions of it, such as Jasco Mask and Peel, Peel-Tek Liquid Masking, and Associated Paint Masking Liquid H20, but I suspect they all work similarly. Good luck with your home painting project and I hope this DIY home improvement video makes painting your French doors and paned windows as easy as possible.

A thicker coat would make it peel better

Is it sandable? (Thinking of using this "outside the box:) Wanted to use for a spray paint project where i need to tape of button holes , (30 holes or so) there cannot be any paint build up in the holes since the buttons are very snug. So possibly spray the holesfrom front and back then sand the front surface apply spray pain going with light coats then pull the "tape" from the back off the holes after drying?

Once you apply it, how long does it take to dry before painting ?

Not long. I forget the exact amount of time but pretty much by the time I covered all my windows it was dry. Note that I have single pane windows and it was warm outside, which undoubtedly helped.
