they definitely should have talked about game-to-game differences more in this whole series, especially after they did such a beautiful job visualizing game mechanics in Aincrad. I do think they gave a very short explanation or at least you can kind of grasp it, in terms of ALO dual-wielding: it is not true dual wielding, Kirito is literally just holding 2 swords but can't really use them in combination. You can see it somewhat okay here, he finishes his ice-attack with 1 sword all the way through before he does anything with the other sword. And he has to do his 4-hit combo all with the same sword. I'm sure there's other ALO scenes where everything falls apart, rules be damned. But this one is actually kinda nice.

I'm pretty sure the 'Skill Connect' system here works like it does in Alicization Lycoris. While there is no "true" dual-wielding, there exists a window between Sword Skill uses where another Skill can be used to ignore the lag time that occurs when you use the initial Skill. Think of it like a chain. Usually you can only chain basic attacks because skills are more powerful and therefore can't be used consecutively. Skill Connect allows you to chain a limited number of Sword Skills. In Alicization Lycoris, there's a superior version called Skill Connect Ex, which activates when you connect Sword Skills in an ascending fashion. That mean using lower tiered skills to higher tiered ones, where each skill recieves a damage multiplier the further you can rise in tiers while linking skills.
Let's all acknowledge that some of these movements are the same from when he used starburst stream for the first time and also how klein is literally in the exact same position when he saw kirito use it aswell

its not that, he used an in-game system called skill connect. it lets a player use sword skills repeatedly without the delay from just using one individually. Kirito himself said he can use it 3 to 4 times without lagging if hes lucky.
Yea the thing is tho it’s kinda hard for him to not die while using it as you said he try not to get a delayed swing because if he did then he would be dead
The novels explain it as kirito starting a second skill just as the first one ends and chains the skills together, but the lag time afterwards do stack so if he doesn't kill his opponents by the end of his chain, then he's a sitting duck.

This scene is awesome because of SSC. Idk if Kirito goes into as much explanation as he does in the novel, but AFO doesnt recognize Dual Wielding as a weapon type, it also doesnt limit what a player can use in each hand, for accessibility and disability reasons, this allows Kirito to use a single handed sword in each hand, mirroring DW to a certain extent, and when AFO introduced Sword Skills, they put a cooldown on them, but they kept that cooldown exclusively to each hand, because I assume Sword and Shields exist and can counterattack after a block. Went Kirito uses one Sword Skill, he can charge the other Sword Skill while using the first one, and if he times it right, when he launches the second Sword Skill, he can launch the next one in succession. This allows him to mirror his SAO style and bypass the SS cooldowns.

Hard to say, since Yuuki's 11 hit skill looks way faster then the skill connect. Skill connect looks like it takes time to switch between blades and skills while Mother's Rosario is an instant 11 hit barrage.
