any demo of using Send/Return? Is it possible to put the effect before or after the Send/Return? thanks
Nothing can top the hx stomp in terms of value for money.. The stomp is legendary.
I think people are looking at this the wrong way, it’s one pedal that can be over 250 different pedals, used in conjunction with other pedals on your board. Doesn’t seem that outrageously wrong to me. Want to do more, get the Stomp. The Stomp had this inherent thread that seemed like it ran through every effect that I didn’t care for. Not sure I would get this either, but I might.
This looks like the perfect pedal for my more traditional pedalboard rig as an all-in-one pedal for modulation and other various effects. I use a boss MD-200 for all my modulation sounds but sometimes I wish it had pitch shifting. Having the HX one means I could, and could also occasionally use a fuzz if I wanted. Sounds fun 🤩
Potentially a replacement for the Line 6 M5 on my board. The M5 is a great piece of gear, but the on/off switch has seen much better days through the years of use and I've just been living with how quirky the switching is. I like this new guy.
Not replace, addon.
@@filipzawadzki9424considering the Helix line includes all of the m series effects, as well as the wealth of new effects, it is absolutely a replacement. There's nothing M5 offers that this doesn't do, and more. I suppose you can use them both on the same board, but at that point an HX stomp would be more economical for space and functionality.
I have been looking an affordable Line 6 helix effects pedal. The HX One is almost there. Everything about this pedal sounds great. I like the flux automation feature. thanks
this year is amazing for guitar players !
Another masterpiece from line 6, I want it !
It's the same principle like the M5 that I have. I like it for Flanger/Chorus/Phaser, occasionally for Octaver or Harmoniser, but I don't want to buy a lot of pedals to use once here and for another part there. This will have much better quality sounds but at a higher price.
This looks to be another great product from Line 6. I can't wait to see how they update the next generation Helix family to go up against the capture capabilities of Tone X, Headrush Prime, Quad Cortex, etc. Please, please, please, Line 6???!
Finally a replacement for my very used Line 6 M5!!
This is a great solution for running out of dsp on the stomp.
It’s the kind of pedal you need to prepare, to work with your bands set list. Not bad actually and pretty handy as a studio tool. 🎉
I'd love to hear demos of all the reverbs. My amp has a basic reverb, but for bigger sounds I've been looking at getting something dedicated
It’s a cool Swiss Army Knife pedal with great tones! I’d probably end up using it as a modulation/delay pedal most of the time as I’m well served with drives… the addition of a tuner also frees up the board nicely.
Just wish it had two effect slots to definitively make this the best solution to space saving.
I bought a line 6 M5 at a pawn shop a few days ago for $5 it wasn't working it just had a switch that was bad the on-off switch need to be replaced so I opened it up put it in a whole new housing put new switches in it and it works good it seems like an M5 with a few upgrades I'll wait a few years until I can pick one up for 5 bucks with the broken switch
Great option, but for me what would be great is the HX FX in a stomp size fully midi controllable. Stomp is a bit pricey for my needs due to being a third world child , our exchange rate is pathetic, and I don't need the amps and cabs as I have 2 options Friedman IR-X and BluGuitar AMP1 and will use the drives on my pedalboard. May still pull the trigger on this as it can provide more flexible options for me. Keen to see the support manual.
All your videos are good.
Although limited in many ways, the Line 6 HX One may be a nice compact partner for the IK Multimedia Tone X Pedal, BOSS IR200, etc
2-3 slots would have made this an instant buy. But just one is tough.
I only agree bc I like 2 delays. But this may have the singe dual delay effect.
Look at the TC Plethora X3. No overdrives but can run up to 3 effects at a time (or 5 with the Plethora X5).
@@jmtabi own the plethora x3. Love it and it also has a cab sim so if you use amp in a box style pedals for ur drive the plethora can be ur cab sim
Daaaa there Is the Helix Stomp...
The flux thing is where I see myself getting this one. For instance, instead of needing two phasers or chorus pedals (because I tend to need one with a fast and one with a slow setting or whatever) I can just hit this one pedal and flip through the two. It's not likely that I'd need more than one modulation per song anyways, so I dont need a whole BOARD of effects. Line 6 hit ti out of the park with this well-thought-out product!
Yea. Incubus style
Is this baby smaller than the line 6 m5? The m5, as cool as it is is pretty massive on my bass pedal board
This one will end up on my pedalboard 100%.
I really like the effects of my HX Stomp but it was too big to fit on my pedalboard and also it's power requirements make it hard to match the power supply capabilities.
Simple/Dual Pitch effects are my favourites for "single note" playing from everything that I tried ( pretty much every pitch shifting/octaver pedal ).
And the fact that I can control it via MIDI from my BOSS ES-5 makes it so cool !
Does this pedal color the signal like the stomp & effects?
if u could have like a 3 effect signal chain just like the plethora it would be a KILLER product, must buy. But now, its an ok product if u want versatility on a small rig
%100
i'm getting!
The HX One page isn't working yet. Link goes to a search page with no relevant results. I'm sure I'm just too early. (video was posted 20 minutes ago.)
How would this compare to Eventide H9 Max pedal?
Ooh I hope other helix products get the Flux feature ❤
Yep, I'm hoping for the same. Great stuff!
They kinda do with snapshots. Just can’t do the slow change type thing.
Curiously, Boss units, from a long time ago (gt8 at least) all have an "internal pedal" which can smoothly transition parameters and can be assigned to pedals/midi cc. They also have a "Wave Pedal" which is basically an LFO, also useful to create dynamic sounds. Would be a good addition to L6 effects, too!
Can we get an HX 2 that is only Amp and IR with no FX?
Nice
Better cost pretty cheap or just get an HX Effects used for a bit more.
It’s $300…. I’d go with a used hx effects 🥸 especially if you wan to run more than one effect at a time…
the HX effects is huge, the HX One can fit comfortably on a pedalboard.
@@racerx3065the HX Effects can replace an entire pedalboard or as much as 7/8 pedals.
The HX One can only replace one pedal.
@@racerx3065exactly...size matters
One of the reasons the hx effects sounds so bad is because of the input impedance. Hopefully this doesn’t have the same problem
Does it take a 2.1mm or 2.5mm power plug?
Best poly pitch with multieffects?
perfect successor of m5
3 effects at a time would've been nice on a box this size.
Can anyone describe the upgrades I would get from switching to this from my m5?
is this upgraded version of line 6 M5?
Woah. Was notttttt expecting this from Line6.
My thoughts exactly. Pretty interesting
Is it built on tuner ??
Can you only run 1 effect at a time?
If so, can you combine multiple effects into a single “preset”
Just one effect at a time
Flux sounds very similar to the Eventide H9's Hotknob function.
Getting really excited for this... Just wishing it was 50 to 100 dollars cheaper.
This is confusing. One effect from the HX lineup at a time, so if you use a block on your HX Stomp to send out to this you only get the one effect you could have just used from inside the HX.... This accomplishes nothing. Being able to stack 3 or 4 would be useful. This doesn't seem well thought out in the HX line. I can't see why an existing HX Stomp user would get one of these and I'm sure the price is close enough to a Stomp to make it even more puzzling.
Would rather see the Amps/IRs in a similar format
This looks like a perfect pedal for a bass player! Normally we only are using an effect at a time so perfect for that. Now I’ll always love and never give up my 16 pedal mostly analog pedalboard where I have control over every pedal with each on my board for a sound I want and use. But with my Boss LS-2 I can run this thing in a separate loop of its own so position won’t matter, and now I have pretty much unlimited combinations by being able to blend my A loop of analog effects with the Line 6! If I can’t haul my big board to a gig or I’m space limited this thing is a board in a box! $300! C’mon folks! This thing is a steal!
Same here! I was looking for an additional effect for my Bass Fly Rig V2. Some Modulation or Synth Sounds and a Flanger. And this thing covers it all and much more! One effect at a time as you said, is enough for 99% of bass player situations (+preamp/drive, +comp) . And it also got a looper and a tuner. So yes, I totally agree, could be THE Swiss army knife pedal for bass! :)
Yea I’ll keep my hx stomp
It is an M5 with a little steroids (a little) because for the price and the upgraded software L6 has developed, I was really expecting a basic IR capabilities (Think the Sonicake IR loader) just very basic IRs, that WOULD really help in stereo scenarios, but basically it is the M5 in a different chassis and that's it.
I believe this pedal is going to be one of those that most people just aren't grasping now, but in 6 months to a year will be in a lot of peoples pedalboards, and bedrooms.
Price?
It has to be cheaper than the Pod Go. Right?
Really thought they'd final done a new Helix for a second. I mean Hx Stomp , Helix , Hx FX , Hx Stomp , Hx Stomp XL , Pod Go ...I mean how many Hx Products can you realese!?!
Pod go is not in the HX line.
@@MateoBakija but it is based on the Helix modeling, coding, and sounds.
I dig & like that two additional foot switches can be added.
Built in tuner??
Companies are drowning us. I might just stop watching UA-cam and play my guitar. I AM OVERWHELMED. 😂
It's reeeeee-dilucous. I spend more time watching videos of new pedals than actually playing.
@@mr.d.572 I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones.
Great video. If you use the Mission co branded SP1-L6H with the HX NE, and connect via a TRS cable, you will get both expression control and one switch control over that single TRS cable.
FLUX is the lead story here. Glad you didn't bury that. Automated expression means I can concentrate on performance and my tone can "go back to normal" in a musical way when I have to go back to singing a verse. That's why working musicians avoid things like Helix. We don't want all the choices, we want the power for the thing we need it for and for it to work like any other pedal. Click. On. That's what seems to be happening here. Some of these sounds are for those Church guys and not us rock guys... but hey, the Line 6 12 string emulation is even better than the Harmon/Digitech Mosaic. The H-90 costs 900 bucks and the sounds are so over the top that you have to set them to barely there to blend with the music. With these modulation and sound reflection (echoverb) effects ready to vary in settings during a song, this beats the h90. The question we classic gear guys always ask is "If i use a full bypass stereo switcher, will my straight analog signal sound noticeably better than the digital dry or wet signals? When there is no difference, the true winner is crowned.
Imagine if they included the Ampsims and IRs in this small box.
If it's happen.
I would love to say this " Shut up and take my money " LOLOL
I'll settle for just the ability to combine at least two effects in one preset. For that reason alone, I'd rather go with the compact Zoom CDR70, which costs a fraction of the HX ONE.
@@vetzaaak i did agree with you
i have Zoom MS70CDR.
and also you can install effect from MS60-MS50 to MS70 too : )
So this is one pedal with a choice of effects that can only be used one at a time?
Sorry, but having 1 effect at a time on a multi effect unit is a no go for me. So if you want delay and chorus or delay and reverb you need another HX one? Or another pedal?
2 or 3 effects at a time, I'd be fine. 1, not so much.
It’s time to say goodbye to the M5
Can we use 2 effects at one time? Ex dist and delay together. Thx
modernized Zoom MS-50G sans amps and cabs?
Not thrilled lol It's about time that Line6 release the successor to the Helix series, not another reiteration of them.
Me hubiera gustado si fuera como un ACS1 y que solo tuviera amps
It’s like Zoom MS 70?
Feels a bit late to the party. The Zoom multistomp pedals have been doing this Swiss Army knife pedal that you only need occasionally for quite a few years (admittedly, the flux feature is interesting and the tones here are more modern/refined).......but with Zoom you can combine pedals and you can step between them in their liner A, B, C setting
Not to this level
$300? SOLD!
Could you compare it with the Zoom MS 50G? Thanks.
I have the MS100BT and HX Stomp. The conversion, editability, quality of effects is far better on the HX but the Zoom is still a great value for a small format multi FX that in a live situation is workable.
I think this can have several approaches to use, due to the number of effects it includes, gain, delay, modulations, filters, reverbs and even compressors and equalizers, all for guitars, basses, keyboards, etc. In a studio, where many times you record each effect line independently and you have this HX One where you configure and record, this also for recordings or productions, or simple layout at home or on the road. For live, it can be a total replacement for those that use a "Delay DL4" and "M5" together (I have them and I think I will proceed to sell them and get the "HX One" that has more effects in a larger size. reduced), just adding a Midi controller and you free up a lot of space on the pedalboard. And for live sessions, depending on the musical genre, where you don't need to bring a complete pedal board, not even a mini pedalboard, you would just bring this one and that's it.
How much
A Manual , Please !!
Gapless preset changing?
The price 300 is quite expansive for just 1 effect at one time.
The hotone ampero mini is better choice and the Pod go is 500 and you get so much more.
Gonna show my age but you'd be better off with a POD. The full size one. I'm not saying the stomp/mx5 aren't better. They are. But the POD had 2 signal chains out that could be combined and the editable and combinable A and B (with two distortions each) were wicked through a tube amp. Or split L/R. This is a single effect unit but I'm betting people will buying it thinking it's a mini Stomp.
If it had at least 3 blocks, id buy it. One block, not a chance.
Does midi in mean that the delay can be clocked to midi?

I’ll keep my M5 unless it’s under $199l.
The page isn't up yet, but I'm going to guess it's $400
$300
@@CerealDust-nStuff Not a bad price at all then.
I am interested if 12 acoustic guitar is a built-in effect?
Hi, MLaci! Thanks for your message, hope you’re well and safe. Short answer is no. A twelve string guitar has an octave up course string for the EADG, and unisons for the BE. Electronically it’s not as convincing even with a crossover. There is a polyphonic pitch shifter that provides an octave up effect and while it’s pleasing, it’s not the same as a twelve string guitar acoustically.
Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them!
Robert Williams, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 2371, robert_williams@sweetwater.com
Thanks very much for the extensive reply, Robert!
@@sweetwater According to the user manual there is an effect "12 String (mono) based on Line6 original". is it not what I am after?
@@MLaci The effect is a shortcut and is sonically nice. Everything in my previous explanation still remains true. It doesn’t change the two upper strings to unison, every note sounds an octave up.

There seems to be a lot of love for this pedal. I dont have any problem with it but.. i just dont really get it.
make a pedal this size with just amps/cabs/irs and the ability for stereo amps and i’ll buy
You just described the Line 6 HX Stomp which has been out for years…
I’m sure we just have to wait

I thought this was a new version of the H9 for a second...
You have HX effects..
Look out H90
Great answer to the Tone Master Pro. 😂
I wonder if it drains processing power when too many effects are turned on?😂
so this is just zoom ms series but its line 6
Line 6 M5 is this your new shirt??
$299, must have done a few focus groups because its just a bit too much but after a sale it will be right. Guess if you want a different flavor of the eventide H9 max.
That is like 2x an m5 with Flix being the only major change. Whonis buying this and not an hx stomp or an m5.
Yeah... I also feel $300 bucks is a little bit too much. Maybe $250 would be more tempting. We'll see if the price holds...
Even $250 is abit steep I got my hx fx for $375 and it can do 9 effects at once has scribble strips and just works better then anythings else I've tried got it paired with a tone x pedal to cover my amp tones
@@ironblast5 An HX FX is $650 at Sweetwater. That would be a $400 difference 🤷🏻
You get a tuner as well.
so this is basically a line 6 eventide h9
Mr Sandman?
This is seriously hindered by the fact that can only run one effect at a time. If they can throw a firmware and make it at least 2 effects at the same time, it may have a future.
The M5 was the same and has been a hit for years. Same with the Eventide H9.
Yeah I feel like the TC plethora x3 beats this unit out in the way
Then they have to change the name to HX two
This thing is direct competition to the H9 Max, which is only 1 effect at a time as well. However, this is half the price of the Eventide
@@ScOpeZ26Yeah. It the eventide is larger and more expensive. I’d use this for like wet effects. Chorus. Delay. Etc.
NO AMPS? SAD
With this pedal being too expensive for the beginner, and the limited one effect at a time for the experienced player, I just don't see a market for it?
I don't get it, just one effect at a time, on a multi effect unit??????
one effect at a time for 300 bucks is the most ridiculous 2023 thing
The Eventide H9 does fewer things for double the price.
but you're forgetting that hx is half the price of h9 but it doesn't have half the quality of eventide's algorithms lol. It's even dishonest with HX to make such a comparison. Put an h9 next to an hx and you will see how far back the hx is@@FaberGT86
If HX's algorithms were better, 300 bucks might be justifiable, but they aren't. Eventide beats or even surpasses pedals like strymon, Meris, empress... The HX stomp delivers an "acceptable" result, but that's it. @@FaberGT86
The biggest benefit of the HX stomp is that it is small and solves everything from modulation to amplifiers. This pedal format revolutionized the market, there was nothing like it in the same quality. This HX one doesn't deliver nearly the biggest benefit of the stomp, you know? Just one effect at a time, for an acceptable quality standard, for 300 bucks? It doesn't sound beneficial to almost anyone! Just read the comments@@FaberGT86
300? 😳 never gonna buy😂
2023 is really bad for my wallet lol... anyway, this is a cool little product.. nice that its got MIDI.
