BOTW is so incredibly detailed that most NPC’s have daily schedules the follow.
Most notably is Koko from Kakariko Village who goes to her mother’s grave at 5am daily and cries. She’s startled out of it if Link gets too close.
You can follow just about any NPC and learn a lot about their character.

There's an NPC named Leekah who takes walks from Riverside Stable to Horwell Bridge. On the bridge, she'll get attacked by a Bokoblin. If you kill the Bokoblin, take the time to walk with her back to the stable, and then talk to her, she'll have unique dialogue where she thanks you and tells you that she feels safe with you.
It's really neat that they accounted for that scenario. Unfortunately I think she's the only NPC who gets this treatment. Still cool though!

I think Zelda also stayed young because for those 100 years she was incorporeal, like a spirit trapped within Ganon. It’s kinda like how the Champions were stuck in their Beasts, except in Zelda’s case she was still alive. I mean, she does literally pop out of Ganon’s head.

-There are only 3 situations for stamina auto-refilling while paragliding: when around a dragon, when attacking vah medoh, and when practicing in the flight range (not during the champion’s ballad quest).
-Mipha’s and Sidon’s names are spelled in the notes of their theme songs. Mipha: repeated notes are mi and fa. Sidon: repeated notes are si (basically ti; si is what they use in other languages) and do.

Jōmon is sometimes rendered with a bar over the "o" to help English speakers understand that its a long vowel. Definitely NOT pronounced "juh-MOAN". Japanese doesn't have reduced vowels like English, where we pronounce unemphasized syllables as schwa. It's pronounced "Joh-mon"

    • @evanseifert8858

Japanese has reduced vowels, generally when followed by a ん つ or っ. It only applies to え and あ. A good example is the pronunciation of 先生. With some Japanese speakers えん can even sound like an English -in sound. Anyways, it is very different from English emphasis and reduction.

Vah Medoh was actually named after Mido from Ocarina of Time, because the original intent was for the Kokiri and Picori races (from Ocarina of Time and Minish Cap respectively) to be included in the game. When they were replaced with the Koroks and Rito, Nintendo decided to keep the name because it still worked because of Medli.

wait that's not a bad theory. I caught onto the beasts names being a reference. but medli seemed like an odd one, with three from ocarina and 1 from wind waker. but then medli seems so much more important than most kokiris

@@iBenjamin1000 yeah, it also seems weird that it would be named after Mido, and not Saria, when all the other divine beasts were named after their people's respective sages... while Medli, while not from OoT, WAS a sage in her game. Though it's also true that the seven sages were named after the various towns from Zelda 2, with the town of Mido giving its name to the non-sage Kokiri Mido instead.
But given it's pronounced Meh-do and not Mee-do, I think it's more likely the divine beast is named after Medli

My belief why Breath of the Wild is not on the official timeline for Zelda; It's a complete reboot of the franchise. It's basically a remake of Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 combined. There are bits and bobs from everywhere, though I know people love to postulate the child timeline despite very little makes it fit outside a mention of Twilight, a thing that has been in reference since a Link to the Past, but the only games that could potentially even reference before Breath of the Wild would be Skyward Sword (which is getting referenced in Tears of the Kingdom) and Ocarina of Time. Nothing else really fits in, especially the adult timeline.
The reason I believe this is a reboot and not a continuation... well everything about the game from the look of the world and placement of things on the map fits Zelda 1 and 2's layout a lot more. On top of that the devs continual referencing of Zelda 1. Finally, any attempt to squeeze it into a timeline just doesn't work. The closest timeline it fits with is the downfall timeline, there's very little it has in common with the other two, especially the adult and a timeline convergence wouldn't work because that's not how time works. That would be all sorts of extra world ending events.

I don’t think BotW is incompatible with the timeline just because there’s not much that connects them. Its definitely not the Adult timeline, because in that one Hyrule is destroyed, but I don’t recall anything that BotW conflicts with the Child and Downfall timelines. The reason there’s not many connections between BotW and past games is because it just takes place so long after everything else.
And just because it references Zelda 1 a lot doesn’t mean its a remake/reboot. I mean, ALBW is an actual remake of LttP, but they’re still considered separate events on the timeline. Plus, Hyrule’s geography changes in literally every game, so I don’t think it can be reliably used as evidence.
Besides, on like a meta level, I think they wouldn’t reboot the series out of fear it’d upset fans. People like to see callbacks and continuity, and a reboot makes that kinda impossible.

I liked MatPat’s theory that Hyrule Warriors joins all three timelines together and BOTW comes after it, which is why we see references to games in different timelines, but HW isn’t canon, which MatPat acknowledged, so it doesn’t work, even though it makes sense

    • @ravenwolf8632
      @ravenwolf8632 Рік тому

@@CYBER_N0T I don't care for his theories. They take unconnected things and try to make something out of them. I don't see Hyrule Warriors as anything more than a side project especially since Nintendo says it has nothing to do with the timeline. Honestly, MatPat takes an idea that has at best one loose thing that can work and creates an entire theory that wouldn't make sense even if the dots were lined up.

@@ravenwolf8632 I can agree with that, I’ve always preferred his science theories to his lore theories anyways, because you can’t really go wrong with those. I do try not to take his theories as fact though (which is a thing I used to do a lot) because as he himself says, it’s just a theory, and nothing more, so I don’t take it that seriously if it’s something absolutely wild, or that goes directly against what developers of the game have said, like this Hyrule Warriors one. I do like the idea of it, but it’s not on the timeline, so it just isn’t correct lol

My interpretation of Zelda not aging was that she was able to use her ability to enter more of a spiritual realm that allowed her to prevent Ganon from being unleashed for 100 years. So she ceased to exist in her physical form during that time, which is why you don't really see her when you step in the castle.
    ...Now....
I don't really understand where she is the whole time you're fighting Ganon. Her help would have been appreciated there. But I suppose if Link is allowed a 100 year break after failing to even confront Ganon because he was that incompetent, then I suppose Zelda is allowed a 10 minute rest after taking Ganon on directly for 100 years straight with no breaks. I suppose reconverting back to physical form after all that will leave you a little winded.
Anyway, I highly doubt Tears will bring up her lack of aging.

Breath of the Wild is the true Hyrule, and all the other games take place as the legends told in Hyrule.
