Urdu and Hindi are very similar because nowadays the words are used very flexibly all the time, most of Hindi speakers can also understand the majority of this song. And thanks for finally reacting to this legend. He comes from a family of musical masters, one of the most iconic being him and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

    That part is called 'Sargam'.
Most Indian and Pakistani singers include Sargam in various songs... If u listen to Shreya Ghoshal's masterpieces 'Mere Dholna', 'Ghar more Pardesiya' or Indian classical singer Kaushiki Chakravarti you will get to hear unbelievably beautiful sargam part.

It’s not painful or sad or a heartbreak song. It’s just conveying the depth/ecstasy of the love that the singer is feeling. The sentiment conveyed is of a person totally, hopelessly and beyond his control in love.
O re piya haaye, O re piya
O my beloved, O my beloved
O re piya haaye, O re piya
O my beloved, O my beloved
O re piya haaye, O re piya
O my beloved, O my beloved
Udne laga kyun mann baawla re
Why is my naive heart taking flight?
Aaya kahan se yeh hausla re
Where did this new found courage come from?
O re piya, O re piya haaye
O my beloved, O my beloved
      (Sargam)
      (Sargam)
Tanabana tanabana bunti hawa haaye bunti hawa
The wind is weaving devious (in a sweet way) schemes
Boondein bhi toh aaye nahi baaz yahan haaye
Even the raindrops don’t stop to torment me
Saazish mein shamil sara jahaan hai
The entire world is part of this conspiracy (to make me fall in love with this person)
Har zarre zarre ki yeh iltija hai
It’s a request from every cell of my body
      O re piya
      O my beloved
Nazrein bole duniya bole dil ki zubaan haaye dil ki zubaan
The eyes and the world speak the language of the heart
Ishq maange ishq chahe koi toofan haaye
Love wants and desires for a storm
      Chalna aahiste ishq naya hai
Tread carefully as this love is new
Pehla yeh vaada humne kiya hai
This is the first time I’ve made a promise
O re piya haaye, O re piya haaye
O my beloved, O my beloved
      O re piya
      O my beloved
      Piya, ae piya
      O my beloved
Nange pairon pe angaaron chalti rahi haaye chalti rahi
I kept walking bare feet on burning coal (up to now)
Lagta hai ke gairon mein main palti rahi haaye
It seems as if I’ve been raised amongst strangers
Le chal wahan joh mulk tera hai
Take me to the country you belong to
      Jahil zamana dushman mera hai
This cruel world is my enemy
O re piya haaye, O re piya haaye
O my beloved, O my beloved
O re piya haaye, O re piya haaye
O my beloved, O my beloved
O re piya haaye, O re piya
O my beloved, O my beloved
O re piya haaye, O re piya
O my beloved, O my beloved

Hi Leo, your sense of Indian music is spot on, you catch the spirit of songs without understanding the language, and that is what music is supposed to achieve, isn't it. Yes, Rahat is a legend on this planet and a genius of Indian classical and sufi tradition. Remember Pakistan was carved out of India and is rooted in the same culture and finds its bearings in the oldest civilisation that the Indian sub continent has cradled. He is a qawwali maestro as fell, which like the language Urdu was born in India. It could easily be one of the most poetical languages of the world and yet borrows heavily from Hindi. The bed of this song is Hindi with liberal use of Urdu. Again most Hindi and Urdu speakers liberally use words from both languages. Now, to the singer himself, don't forget to deep dive into Rahat, who, despite your dislike for high notes will wow you with his magical high notes that speak better than any human tongue can. I know, despite the dislike, your acute sense of music has taught you to understand and appreciate even something you are not fond of. After Rahat, you will ready to appreciate the Indian classical music. Best

He is not God father of classical music. He is just one of the pioneer of Indian classical music. There are so many gem that you are unware. Every single Indian singer start there career with classical training. Without training in classical music nobody can survive in Indian music industry. After starting carrier they experiment with vocal and other western things but basic remains same. Those who mastered that skills then they become guru and train new generation

    • @ROHIT42052
      @ROHIT42052 2 роки тому +12

@@RandomzzOfficial No! Indian classical music remains Indian despite of partion because core or soul(Sargam & Ragas) of Indian classical music remain Indian. You can not sing saregamapa in arabi, urdu, bangali because they derived from sankrit(specifically from Hindu Culture). So you cannot separate or claim identity of classical music partion wise.
Those Pakistani and Bangladeshi people who claim legacy of Indian classical music deliberately forget root of their language and culture. They forget that they can change their religion and boundaries of land but they can't change their father, forefathers and ancestors.

Do you think we will forget our culture because some random British whote fjy drew s line in the map and they made a border. Yest it started from hindus many years ago but so what. Just because our religion is different ot doesnt change the fact that its our culture and our ancestors were literally hindus. It isna shared culture all those years ago how do you know ehst influences came from the side that is now Pakistan. Just because our name was changed why should we reset and forget our culture in 1947. Yes sufi music and qawali etc is bey popular bevause it came from muslims in pre partition india and we are a majority Muslim country but we still learn and know sa re ga ma pa and raag, dhrupad, khayal, tarana, thumri etc

Taana-baana in Hindi means warp-weft in English. The hyphenated word applies to the intersection of threads in the weaving of a piece of cloth: lengthwise is taana or warp, breadthwise is baana or weft. It has been used as an imagery in the lyrics here to say that gusts of wind weave into one another. The suggestion is of something unexpected, perhaps unstable, yet almost unbreakable. The song is about love that seeks completion.

But Hindi, Urdu & Persian are pretty close to each other. In fact, both the Speakers of the language can understand each other. Hindi and Urdu are kinds of the same language but Hindi has more Sanskrit Influence while Urdu has Persian.

Bruh that part is a sargam which is literally playing with your voice in classical music. That is considered the most difficult thing to do. And you are absolutely right sargam is mostly used in qawwali. P.S you have a great classical sense.

Basically there wad a language called hindustani language. In 1880-90's british tried to devide hindu muslims of the country (because of 1857 revolt), they introduced hindi, basically hindustani without arabic, farsi and turk words.. and urdu, hundustani without sanskrit words... So these two language are very similar grammatically.
