I have had several zero turns, and between all of my zero turns, garden tractors, and go-karts, I have ran about every engine known to man. The Briggs Vanguard is the best hands down in my opinion. They are rock solid, well balanced, powerful, and reliable. Also, Grasshoppers are nearly impossible to beat. I ran my last one into the ground for 10 years mowing 12 acres a week.... it was a 727k with a Kohler. I beat the heck out of it and it kept coming back for more. Never a problem with it. Now I have the model that is featured in this video (937 with 72" deck). It is a beast!
Our golf course had one of these. Decent machine, we switched to the ventrac. Ventrac will out cut these 10 fold!! Ventrac is expensive but you get what you pay for!!
I'm still running my 2003 725k. It doesn't have as much power as the one in this video however. Mine has the older CH730, which they later rated it at 23HP. When it dies I'm gonna drop the newer 747cc engine on it...
747cc is to small on 61 imo the kawasaki fx801 is 852cc it has torque and would use it before the big blocks kohler and briggs hp rating are not accurate like kawasaki theirs are very conservative
Have a 900D nothing but problems since purchasing, very poor quality machine. I had a 725D before it a great machine bullet proof for over 2000 hours but I needed the bigger tires on the 900 for wet areas. Low power machine and very undependable been in the shop for over a month while I mow with a30 year old Gravely. The factory support is awful but the dealer finally found the pulley that was machined wrong at factory eating up belts. If you want a Grasshopper buy one of the older ones and stay away from newer models. Sad when a company falls this far in quality.
Shocking to hear of this story. Thanks for sharing. I was under the impression that the 900D is about the best out there in terms of a zero turn front mount mower.
Got 2 of the 937g’s that are beasts. Love them. First I bought 725D’s and didn’t like them at all. They bogged down much more than gas models and radiators clogged badly every 2-3hrs. Luckily they let me return them and get the 937g’s.

We have a 725k and it does not bog down at all in our thick kudzu at our property in nc
Hello fellow North Carolinian!
omg Poteau OK, I have worked at Shady Point, or whatever its called power plant there on shutdowns....small world......
Do those hold the hills better than a regular zero turn?
They do not! Mid mounts are way better at handling hills!

Both cuts look the same to me
