the thing is, PH at that time was the 2nd strongest and advanced in the whole of Asia (if I am not mistaken) and South Korea belongs to the poor (if not poorest).
This part of our history was actually not that well taught in our Education both in PH and SoKor.
Our History classes focus more on who colonialized/conquered the country like Spain, America, Japan.

Havent seen any korean-war realated movies that feature the Filipino heroism. Although there is this movie called Ayla: The Daughter of War about a Turkish soldier who took a Korean kid under his wing. It is a must-watch movie. A real tear-jerker!

But what sad Ovela only few Koreans knew about it. Its not even mentioned in their history subjects instead only Americans were credited for the bravery of the Filipino Soldiers.

In the same war in March 1952, several attempts by other United Nations forces failed to take a strong Chinese/Korean strong military outpost at the Hill Eerie. Aware of the gallantry and victory of the Filipino contingent (PEFTOK) at Yultong in April 1951, the commanders decided to assign the difficult task of taking the Hill eerie outpost to the PEFTOK, giving them the authority to strategize the attack. Fidel Ramos, who became a general and eventually became the president of the Philippines, led the group of 44 other Filipino soldiers. With just one radioman they communicated with other UN forces for artillery support; the took out the outpost that was manned by Chinese soldiers.
Douglas MacArthur: “Give me 10,000 Filipino soldiers and I will conquer the world.” As a soldier, I saw action too in World War II.

And the history of philippine itself,,,spanish,american, and japanese where once fought by our great soldiers
hope in the future they produce a war movie depicting Filipino bravery in the Battle of Yuttong or one of the greatest sea battle between Japan n the US during WWll in the Battle of Leyte gulf where hundreds of Japanyn American warships sank n hundred soldiers on both side perished....
