I laughed so hard at Dala when he hit the “gas” and said “WOOOAAAHHHH!!!!” That was so funny! Now I have to upgrade my battery and inverter and learn coding for my LEAF. 😂😅😭
After I reconnected the second bank of battery in the trunk to bypass the current sensor, my speed was also increased. But I have no way to measure other than the smile on my face. Thank you for the update.
Hi Dala, Thank you for all you have taken time to work out for the Leaf owners that are nearing the clear need to upgrade/replace the battery. I have a 2013 Leaf, and my battery is at 7 but will soon drop to 6. When I drive carefully, I can still squeeze 48-49 miles. Are you aware of any shops that can do a quality upgrade in Southern California? I recently learned about QCCharge in Vista, and have asked for a quote to get a 64kWh pack put in. They haven't responded yet (holidays), but I'm very hopeful. Do YOU have any advice? Cheers! Wesley
I've modded every car I've ever had, so being able to do the Leaf is a real game changer - WELL DONE!! Would you need to get the inverter swapped in a 2016 30kWh Leaf (from Japan), or could you just do the code swap once its available in LeafSpy?
I need to tune the car for fleet use so I don't want the car to go over 50 miles per hr speeds. I am sure that is easy but it would need to be programed first. Any ideas ?
Yes! Great job, man! Loved it. Keep tinkering. I drive 2012 ze0 leaf for now. Plan to replace it with aze0 2013-2017 leaf. Main problem - can't do much with it. Then i plan to replace 24 kWh bat 🦇 with 40. Might do an invereter replacement then as well.

Just seen this Dala - awesome work. As I am controlling the inverter with my own code this should be a basic lift and swap in my EV! And upgrade the fuse - but that is easily accessible in the boot now! Good work
All cars from 2013-2022 have the same EM57 motor. It's the electronics and battery that matter - it's all about getting more current to the motor - the motor in the LEAF can handle more than even 160 KW, but you'd need to go to custom inverters. I suspect that with a front wheel drive LEAF that 160 KW would be so difficult to get power to the ground that you wouldn't really want more.

Great success, Dala. I was wondering how this upgrade affects the differential gear. Do they all (gearboxes) have the same design and material for the different power?
Should be the same, atleast the look exactly the same. I have two 2018+ reduction gears in the workshop, but I don't feel the need to tear it down and compare. It's only a single gear, and quite a big one!

Great work Dala! But did You test the setup without resolver coding? I'm asking this because this offset in the nissan system does not make any sense with my results, they are identical with and without writing the resolver offset, mainly because the rotor of the resolver is not mechanically adjustable and the stator is fixed in place too, so why bother?
I had a difference of 10 in the offset, so I would have probably been fine without writing in the new one. But if you have a diff of say 128, I'd really want the proper offset, otherwise you're gonna get higher consumption due to wrong timing!
