The Jimmy situation has to be one of the biggest blunders for CG in a while. Guy can't raise enough money for his crowdfunded comic because he's not good at pitching it (I've seen the trailer like a million times and I still don't know the story or any character names). He can't keep a colorists on the project for some reason and instead of asking the CG community for help, he just throws his hands up and prints a black and white version to send to backers, presumably spending most of the money he raised. Wtf? Now everyone has to pitch in to fix this mess
All of the things you said may be true, but I still believe in forgiveness and grace. Jimmy was willing to come on stream and be honest and transparent with us and that's huge. I'm still waiting on Black Flag but I don't hold it against Fraga because he's honest with us about the delays. I don't like everything Liam has done but I still backed Dinoking at Ethan's recommendation. Loosen up. Listen to people. Recognize honesty when you hear it.
Regarding the Jimmy thing. I can certainly understand how backers would be upset and support their right to be upset. I also backed expecting for the interior pages to be colored. That said the black and white art I've seen look gorgeous and if Jimmy already is getting a shipment of those I don't mind receiving one.
I agree in terms of the actual art however being honest, he handled the initial problem badly, and doubled down on it by printing, making it worse. Even though he said that he told everyone he was switching to black and white, he didn't present it clearly as a missed target so that people paid attention to what he was saying, rather obfuscating it as an artisan edition upgrade, only being clear when he pulled the trigger on printing. He had also previously updated that he was coloring it himself. There's salesmanship and there's misleading people. He stepped a little too close to the latter. That's my view of what happened, but I like Jimmy, and his art is great. Things went wrong in the project for him, and he had serious health issues probably making him feel overwhelmed. I'll be happy whether I get the color or b&w and hope he sticks around having learned the right lessons.

I'll be getting Dragonrage before I get Doomkicker. If the project had a hiccup like the colorists not doing their jobs, that's fine. Just make it clear next time. Getting the book out without colors is better than not getting the book out.
As someone that backed Jimmy when he was appearing on The Geek Getaway, I was disheartened by the book being black and white when it was supposed to be colored, that said, the black and white pages on the campaign looked good as hell and I would back an EVS cover or a black and white book to help make a full colored comic happen.

It's not at all like the "Attack one of us, you attack all of us" mentality didn't drag everyone into one of the most pointless, bloody conflicts in history. World War 1. That to this day people can't really figure out how it happened, beyond a few inciting incidents. That for, I think, the afor-mentioned reason of defensive pacts. Many nations just decided, well I guess we are all going to war to honor these treaties. It's strange how a localized conflict between the Serbs and Austrians ballooned into one of the worlds deadliest conflicts. Because everyone decided we needed to resolve it by fighting everywhere else in the world. Should we defend our allies? Perhaps if we had the strength to do so, and that strength would carry us through. The american people are burnt out on endless wars over there. And constant wars on our own people here by the Fed.

If a colorist took Jimmys money without producing the work he should demand to get it back. If another left in the middle of the project (assuming that means some of the work is done) Jimmy can focus on the uncolored pages. Would help keep the cost down. If theres another campaign or reopen the existing one the B&W version should be sold for lower cost. Like $15 or something.

Theres lot of corporate law structure too that makes it favorable. Him bragging about his corporate tax haven and robbing Americans should be called out and criticized at every opportunity. They are stealing billions with illegal laws allowing them to rob you.

I always found Jimmy Reys fun on livestreams, BUT, this whole situation is completely HIS fault. A lot of creators raise LESS money than he raised and still deliver a color comicbook to the backers normally. He raised over 55 thousand dollars, that's a lot of money, and he can't use 4 thousand for a colorist?? If a colorist didn't do what was agreed, just look for another one (and let people know it will be 1 or 2 months late). Paying 25 dollars for a 40-page black and white comicbook is a rip-off! If I had purchased it, I would have asked for my money back.
I bought it before I knew it was black and white. But I like Jimmy. I'll buy the color one, too. I wouldn't be that nice to an asshole, I'm only good to good people.

The GI Bill helped a lot and most of the war wasn't fought on our soil so we didn't have to recover like the others.
