It's nice to see your tank, don't get to see it enough. I love the interviews or chats and gonna always tune in! but id like to see more content on your tanks too. You've done such an amazing job with them, show them babies off lol
I shall work on it more!
@ReefDudes Awesome, looking forward to it!!! Thx Dev
Hey just had similar issue. What I did, I put a bag of chempure blue and also took my rodi line and blasted with freshwater line. Chemiclean helped me but created other problems. Try blasting with rodi. I belive it's a bacterial issue honestly
Yeah having the same issue , think mine was due to an alk swing where the polish dosing pump decided to dump a load of alk in the tank when their systems went down & I couldn’t turn it off , so frustrating 😖 lost 2 small colony’s & another has almost gone, I haven’t done anything as it’s the first time it’s happened (2 year old reefer), maybe I’ll add some chemiclean to my reef shopping list, was debating the fauna marin stuff for Rtn/Stn too but I’ve just let it ride out as majority of the tank seems to have coped well with it…. Dammed if you do & dammed if you don’t….
Think it could be light or flow related? A week after the fragging makes me think something was going on then the stress factor sent it over the edge. My first thought was to just frag off the bottom section and keep the good flesh
Have you tried the CRT concoction yet?
Nope. Still on the todo list
Almost looks like a shade / torch/goni sting combo
It kinda looks like the torches/Goni are closest to the affected areas....on side and below....maybe some stingers are flying at night?
Is there an update? Did the colony survive?
Yes it did.
Did you turn your flow down for the video? watching this video I cant help but notice you have almost zero flow in that area. Your torches, gonis are BARELY moving at all. Thats almost stagnant water IMO, that area in between the acro and the torches just above your goni's. and thats right where that Acro is STNing. Just a thought.
Entertaining video😊
coral-lation?
Probably frag and start over
I could use some slow tissue narcosis 😅.
I’ll pass on the necrosis tho😶
Could the frogspawn be stinging it?
Sorry might be a torch.
Getting stung by neighbor
If it stopped I would leave it alone unless I see it dying some more
agreed. That’s the current plan. So far it seems to have stopped. Fingers crossed it stays stopped
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Almost every time that I had base recession over the last 20 years it’s when I didn’t feed enough and my po4 got too low. Po4 is not this stable number that you test for like a nitrate. It’s being consumed all day. It’s the punishment for have large growing colonies lol. If you test your po4 first thing in the morning before any feedings, this is your baseline level. The readings through the day are temporary spike readings from feedings. You already know what reef roids does. You also know what that roller does. I would be surprised if your po4 isn’t 0.0 in the morning or damn close.
The tank looks great Dev! Is that all your flow or do you have some of them off? They all seem to be doing great and it surprises me if that’s all the flow they’re getting..
Cut it out and quarantine ...Usually if one starts more to follow. frag it
I stopped all activated charcoal and I think it helped me out idk tho
Could it be the flow is to low or did you had the pumps off for the video?
Chemi-Clean has been somewhat effective for me in the past.
That promising!
Slight oversight, but you mentioned to replace the Chemi clean skimmate removal with freshwater. Need to replace with saltwater. Should be obvious but don't want to see anyone nuke their system by accident.
I think I meant fresh saltwater. Haha. Good catch!
Devin, how's your coral beauty on your tank does it nip at your euphyllia?
Mine been behaved overall. Atleast no noticeable impact
you sure its not aefw
I have had them in the past and they tend to have circular bite marks which I’m not seeing on it
I’m dealing with a few sps with stn right now but I know what happened my phosphate dropped to 0 over night. So keep us updated reef dudes.
Will do. I did a 25-30g is (brute) can water change last night so i can use the skimmer again.. Ill do a po4 test later today.
This was a great video. Loved the thorough update! Would love more videos like this
Thanks! Ill work on it more often :)
Had 2 colonies stn 4 months apart. Added chemiclean after first colony started, however, half the cuts bleached within a weak. Have frags of both, but I'm worried about which is next. I'm still looking for a good OA full tank treatment if all s%^t hits the fan.
You did changes lenses on the Radions right? Could it be that?
I lowered the intensity to match the par relatively close so I don’t think it’s they. My po4 is fairly elevated. Maybe related
@@ReefDudes I mean was there light shining on the STN parts before the swap? How high is high?
Tank looks amazing!! STN is definitely a nightmare. I like your advice to see if it's localized and not overreact. I can't say I've ever found a reliable approach to stopping STN, usually do a water change and hope for the best.
What the ratio for your chemiclean dosing? Thx
I did it roughly to the instructions but generous scoops, so 20 ish scoops for my tank
Great video! I’d frag the coral and start over!
If it keeps progressing i likely will.. but so far it seems to be holding!
