The Candy Challenge - Great Dane Edition!

- After watching all of the hilarious videos out there of kids performing the candy challenge, we decided that it was time to put Gus the Great Dane to the test! Instead of candy, we chose to use peanut butter and pumpkin as those are two snacks that Gus loves!
Watch to see Gus have her patience tested as she waits for dad while eyeing up these tasty snacks within easy reach ;)

LOL you can tell she gave it her best effort, but the smell of the peanut butter really got the best of her!

Ha this is great. We have a puppy, he's 11 weeks old now. I'm amazed at how great he is with learning and patience. I can literally eat pizza on the couch with him lying on the same couch cushion that I'm sitting on, and after looking and seeing I'm not sharing, just lay his head right back down and ignore the people food. These are such fantastic dogs, thanks for this channel!

Awwww, Gus deserved her treat. My old Danes would have been a bit sneakier with it, but they wouldn't have been able to resist either! What fun! Stay safe xx :)
It’s a tough one to turn down!
When my 2 Danes saw Gus eating the peanut butter, they both went to the TV to smell the bowls and my female tried to lick Gus as well. It was so cute. I wish I would have been able to catch them on camera.
The fact that they recognized peanut butter on tv with no smell is impressive!

She exercised more restraint than any great dane I've ever had. Usually she would just inhale and worry about zero consequences later. I would give anything to have one more minute with her..
Every video you make gets me more excited to get our dane in fall! Gus is so beautiful and funny. She said pretty good Haha. Thanks for sharing!

What is wrong with her? She is not slobbering....my girl would wait (I hope), until I am back, but the table would be completely wet. My Great Dane boy, who sadly passed away last year, would eat the peanut butter (or anything) as soon as I am out of the room.
No way our Great Dane would hesitate. Once I were to leave the room, I guarantee both peanut butter & pumpkin bowls would be empty. Gus is in good company. 😇

Is there a particular kind of peanut butter to give your Great Dane and is it ok to give peanut butter to a 7 mo old?
