I remember watching this in the 70's. It remains as hilarious today as it was back then. Brilliant scriptwriting and an equally brilliant cast. That doesn't happen very often, sadly.
Captain Mainwaring fired 6 shots to burst the lock on that door! He basically emptied his revolver!!! And he is the one always going on at the men not to waste ammunition!! lol
Yeah same here Have you tried the radio episodes there really good they even have the missing episodes played by the original cast definitely worth a listen you can also get every episode picture perfect free on daily motion
Yeah is a great episode boots boots boots and the light house are really good episodes most are really great for some reason not that keen on episode everything is gathered in
They surely would have got rid of Cpl Jones as he was a danger to all of them - the man was mostly ga-ga ! ! and a nuisance and as for Godfrey, words fail me- that makes it such a brilliantly successful programme ❤
Great memories of the 1970s watching this with my Dad after tea. Or was it before tea? In any case, wonderful times - when Britain was still Britain - and it was great (for us, the people).
Wow seen this hundreds of times and never noticed that there's also an episode were you can see the boom microphone episode called brain verses brawn were they are trying to put the burning house out
@@philipbrougham6360 That was typical of the times, due to saving money on reshoots and keeping up with production schedules. It also adds a nice little bit of realism, since many people can flub their words quite often.
The reaction to the husband indoors to Walker’s question about pants shows the change in treatment of women (or does it ??) Husband immediately beats her up without listening to her side of the story - not PC now or tolerated (mostly) now Times have hopefully changed
Meanwhile, Mainwaring, Wilson (and at one point Jones) receive physical abuse from their ladies. And we all have a good laugh. 🤷♂️ Double standards anyone?
Could watch dads army my entire life and not get bored. 1 of the best ever
got the three radio series to listen to too 🙂
Me too 😂
Watched every episode five/six times. Hilarious. 😂

There's never been anything come close as good as dads army comedy these days feels like mass produced not really funny at all
ONE OF MY LIFE TIME FAVORITES
😂Dad's Army is quality British comedy.
Definitely agree 👍
Captain Mainwaring fired 6 shots to burst the lock on that door! He basically emptied his revolver!!! And he is the one always going on at the men not to waste ammunition!! lol
Lol true
Another not to be missed "headless" episode.
x 1.25 speed helps..
Love this show so much more now I don't get to see my grandparents
For all the abuse Hodges gives Mainwaring and his platoon, he doesn’t half show respect when they’re at action.
Lol yeah a noticed that as well
I sat next to Bill Pertwee ,at Lords cricket ground, watching England playing the West Indies .
1980 is....
He was a lovely man and he enjoyed the days play.
It's because he's yellow, and in the end knows Napoleon's mob are better suited to the job.
I love dad's army
Yeah same here Have you tried the radio episodes there really good they even have the missing episodes played by the original cast definitely worth a listen you can also get every episode picture perfect free on daily motion
Mainwaring asking that woman to see her underwear and then getting slapped XD
Watching and enjoying even more in 2020.
2023?
Very funny one of my favorites

Excellent written and acting.

It's a good show 😁

Same as that.
I think it was after tea as I remember it being bedtime when the closing music played.
I like dads army
The title music was written for the show, it wasn't a war time song.
ladies knickers was improper at that time. imagine what theyre wearing these days. their underwear outside
we don't wear them, not in Essex anyway
Blue ones 😂
@@suziegraham7063 lol what do yous were then nothing or thongs
@@suziegraham7063Seriously 😮
I love it
Requiescat in Pace, Ian Lavender...Private Pike was a 'stupid boy', but in 2024 we mourn his loss as the last surviving member of Dad's Army....😞😞😞
Who can not like dads army
Playing a 78 at 45 here!
So select play at x 1.5.
x1.25 is good
Great stuff - why is only part screen visible on many Dads Army vids ? A way around c opy r ight?
I think that's what it is.
Hopeless. Heads & feet are all cut off, & it runs a lot slower than normal.
Picture doesnt line up, and the sound is running slow ?
At 22:20 Mannering calls Jonesy Walker, Was It A Script Fail Or An Actor Fail
Well spotted
Wow seen this hundreds of times and never noticed that there's also an episode were you can see the boom microphone episode called brain verses brawn were they are trying to put the burning house out
I have often noticed slight mistakes before ,but they must have been told to keep going .unless asked to stop.

@@minicle426 Yes, as l said ,probably told ,if you make a mistake ,jusf keep going
What absolute, first rate clammpet chose the aspect ratio for these classics, only suitable for headphones and eyes closed at night. Feckin bin lid.
Copyright
Should try the audio version then there pretty good
Why so slow? Had to put it at 1:25 to make it sound right.
Copyright issues
So select play at x 1.5 speed.
Its owned by the BBC, so if UA-cam ai finds this video it will remove it for copyright violations.

why is it taped slower?
Think its to do with copyright
Sound volume on all Dad's Army videos on this channel very poor.
Cause UA-cam ai will remove the video it if finds it, for copyright violations as it BBC.
Can't see the head a lot of it
why have you put zoom on it ,unwatchable
copyright issues
All Videos on this channel very poor. Heads missing in most scenes . 😢👎
Well upload your own, and you will find youtube will remove them for copyright violations.
Be greatful what you got, else do it yourself.
@@pqrstzxerty1296 I am certainly not greatful for headless videos. I switched them off and moved on to better productions .
bloody useless
