Being a navy veteran I have attended many a ships Reunion. A chance to catch up and reminisce with old friends! To talk about and relive things from our pasts. Reunion!!!!
Glad to have a reunion with the boat last weekend as our long Winter flipped to Summer within a week. Now for a quick refresher on how to dock in tight spaces 😬
So sorry Peter I've got out of the habit of watching your vids over the last several months, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy the relaxed nature of your channel, Poem is looking fabulous and great to see the Series 2 again, reminds me I must get my Series 3 back on the road again!
It’s always nice to see a reunion among and their skippers like this beer of the week at Desolation Sound! It will also be good to see a reunion of Peter with the boat Geordie. After the last two years, I guess there are various reunions happening all over the world, of old friends, old colleagues and other people. So, Reunion definitely is a good WOTW!
I wanted to go to Mauritius for some diving but the hotels were all full so I went to Reunion instead. Poem's transom looks so good in the sun, the wood is really gergeous.
Reunion is an island far far away.Good thing no emergency anchoring was required by Poem as hand lining 100 feet of rode would not be good for your back!
I know you have corrected the problem already but sometimes on boats when they're not used on a regular basis the starters will get a little sticky and if you spray them with some PB Blaster and as you're trying to turn the starter over if you tap the solenoid or even around the Bendix the starter might engage and come out of her sticky good luck with the" Poem" or I could wait till the end of the video and found out it was the battery lol cheers Peter
Glad to see you steam Poem up for a reunion on the water between you and your friend Scott and his 1916 sailing vessel on the water with good conversation and good drinks, and good weather! Cheers!
Completely love the voice over commentary on Poems starting issues! Sometimes we think we know far more than we know. What a lovely marina at dusk, though, Peter. Lady Z definitely carried her weight in lumber and then some!
Fine pleasant cruise to Aldair, calm waters after so much storms. Reunion breaking a cask makes memories. Just say it's a livestream, leave a camera running and walk away for a while. Hopefull of getting back to my own vessel with many parts. Getting back by land is a pest?
I was shocked to see Altair on your video. 25 years ago I almost bought her when she was down in Ilwaco, WA. I had her hauled for a survey and found out most of the frames had to be fixed/sistered due to corrosion from old iron plates that tied them together. A ice pick went right thru the frames like butter. Because of these problems I decided to pass on her. I now live on an old Chris Craft 57 in Friday Harbor that I picked up a year ago. One thing of interest is Altair had lead in her keel which apparently was/is extremely valuable. The owner had to ask many questions to make sure the potential buyer was not going to have her keel cut off for the lead. Keep up the good work as I learn a ton from your videos. Thank you for all you do.
You would talk to about the starting battery being shot but it has been sitting for quite a while and with a good 6/7 hour cruise that you took you may have actually done some charging to that battery which it had not had sitting at the dock for many months!! You'll have to do a load test on the battery to verify how bad it is but in a slow long charge time that you have had it may be pretty good!! All the best from Surrey BC Canada
I have just had a reunion with my boat, first time out since August and she was running well, but the fridge wasn't staying cold. I had just been gifted 4, 5 year old batteries for my solar power in my workshop, so took the opportunity to dig into the batteries aboard, of course the problem was with the one that needed all the rest to come out first, but it was down to 11 volts. Thus I swapped it out for one of my freshly gifted ones, and sorted that issue out. Then yesterday I had issues with sudden drops in revs, at first I thought weeds round the prop or blocked strainers, went through everything and got her going again, then after mooring for the night went for a swim to check the prop, and found a nylon strap wrapped between prop and shaft, I guess that binding in the gap had been stalling out my 19 hp motor.
Laughing at myself tonight, as I watched the Check news weather they aways have a background of Victoria's inner harbour and I seen your boat, said to my wife there's Peters boat right behind Warrens butt (the weatherman) she just looked at me like I was nuts, I guess some people don't enjoy good youtube content, but I do! looking forward to the next one. Cheers.
At the Peter and Scott re-union, Their cheeks took on a shine, Thanks to the potent content, Of the out-of-season wine. Grandma ,that elegant craft, Allowed Poem to raft, Kindred spirits all, Matelots - have a ball !
Nice to see the reunion aboard Poem. She is such a beautiful boat and would be a hoot to cruise and like Scott said, keep her floating. For me, working on a boat is just as enjoyable as the cruise!!
If I ever get back to the states I must come and visit you Peter! It won't be a reunion as we are yet to meet - but it will be fun to see you and Geordie and watch you drink an ale or two.
Huge Congratulations, Peter. In all the years of watching these liveaboard videos this is the very first one I’ve seen showing the operating of the bilge blower prior to engine start. I once saw a wood cruiser (C/C) with a leaky fuel tank explode “one boat over” at a marina in Ontario; it burned down to the water line. NOT a pretty sight.
I would imagine the Patrons would be somewhat disappointed at the lack of footage during passage to Scott. However the reunion I'm sure will make up for it for some. What a load of beautiful BS you guys accomplish and I loved the silent BS after Poem started 😂
NB I must have nodded off or something....there's plenty enough footage of the passage to Maple. I'll let my comment stand as a testament to my waning awareness😖
I haven’t commented the the past three weeks. So I once again join in a REUNION in hopes I’ll win a Travels With Geordie T shirt. BTW- Today is my birthday if that helps to get a shirt.
I need to gain your address so i can send you some of our local beer from sussex County Delaware . Eventually i would like to join you for a round of libations . Great work Peter 👍🍺🍷 Instead of your address ill send it to your marina . But i need that address or way of contact . My compliments to your wood working skills & polishing the wood . I still need to know what your polishing with . I've tried screen saving it but its not focusing very well on the polish or what your brushing on .
The reunion of friends strengthen a man’s soul to its roots. It’s what life is about.
Peter, the reunion with your beautiful Land Rover was the best part of the episode for me.
The reunion of old friends is fortuitous. Be safe.
1913 Alden ....unbelievable . If these old classic boats could talk I wonder what stories they would tell !
Being a navy veteran I have attended many a ships Reunion. A chance to catch up and reminisce with old friends! To talk about and relive things from our pasts. Reunion!!!!
Good to see your REUNION with Scott is so celebratory !!
Glad to have a reunion with the boat last weekend as our long Winter flipped to Summer within a week. Now for a quick refresher on how to dock in tight spaces 😬
Reunion of kindred souls, bottoms up!
What better way to have your reunion than where it left off

It’s been a bit since I’ve been on YT. But glad to have a nice reunion with Peter.

What a wonderful reunion !!
I wanted to go to Mauritius for some diving but the hotels were all full so I went to Reunion instead.
Poem's transom looks so good in the sun, the wood is really gergeous.
Electrics - it’s kinda of voodoo magic.😉👍⛵️
Evening Peter, just catching up, I loved the sequence in your truck especially in this episode. A lovely treat! Best wishes!
Paul Simon might say, That the Poem and Scott reunion is only a motion away.
Nice!
Love how smooth and quiet that engine sounds in poem!
Beats a similar sized Diesel by a mile in Comfort. Especially for 7 hours.
Wish I could have been a fly in the cabin to observe how the rest of that night went with barley wine and tales of boating!! 🤣👍
Scott is fun! Glad you had a reunion.
Reunion is an island far far away.Good thing no emergency anchoring was required by Poem as hand lining 100 feet of rode would not be good for your back!
Great to see you out cruising Peter, hope you have plenty of happy reunions over the coming months 😃👍👍😃

Land Rover parade on the causeway! Yippee!
What a lovely little boat she is.
A "reunion" with a shipwright!
Excellent video again. The title threw me a little, I was expecting an emotional rhyme or lyric... :-)
Reunion season is about to begin once we get out of this protracted spring in the PNW.
We have a family reunion every year the last Saturday in June.
Wow Peter nice episode. Good to see some steaming. Hi Scott nice to see you again.
Great to see poem underway and great to see Scott again!
Glad to see you steam Poem up for a reunion on the water between you and your friend Scott and his 1916 sailing vessel on the water with good conversation and good drinks, and good weather! Cheers!
Please, no more talk of winter for a while. Let's enjoy our reunion with sunshine, fair winds and following seas.
I am often apprehensive about a reunion with privileged people, but these two dudes are awesome!
One can only go to Union once, because after that it is a reunion.
Completely love the voice over commentary on Poems starting issues! Sometimes we think we know far more than we know. What a lovely marina at dusk, though, Peter. Lady Z definitely carried her weight in lumber and then some!

Hi Peter great reunion show as always , like the small tweaks you’ve made . Keep up the great work and entertainment 🙌
Fabulous Reunion!
Cheers and safe sailing

My boat 7k# sale price through 3 hands $2k us, yes trust there. Caretakers.
We had to go to great lengths to update her framing and there is still a lot to do!

Great old boat
This weekend we had a reunion of sorts in Norfolk of a great bunch of old boating friends with good food and drink on the docks, SLAINTE!
Yay Scott!
Reunions are great. We are reuniting with family next weekend. Hope you have a great cruising summer.
I have just had a reunion with my boat, first time out since August and she was running well, but the fridge wasn't staying cold. great reunion with poem and your cruising. it has been a long winter
two friends meeting up after its been a while, wonderful.
Nothing more fun than 2 boating infected people having a reunion. 🦆🦆
Had Scott started on the beer before you arrived🤣
a reunion with friends on the water and family everywhere is a mighty fine thing. Looking forward to Desolation Sound

I never went to my class REUNION, I had enough of those people.
Nice to see the reunion aboard Poem.

Sounded like Morse code to me

Best episode ever! OK I'm just saying that as I won the T shirt.
Another enjoyable episode ! Great to see your friend Scott again and I'm looking forward to see what you do with the coming summertime 😀

Another great video, glad you were able to get M/V Poem underway without any major problems. Any idea why the starting battery is getting discharged?
👍from 🌞🏖⛵
Forgot the name of the boat, expected emotional poetry.
I haven’t commented the the past three weeks. So I once again join in a REUNION in hopes I’ll win a Travels With Geordie T shirt. BTW- Today is my birthday if that helps to get a shirt.
Ahoy🌊
Tap the starter with a hammer a few time
Peter, what engine does Poem have - it seems really quiet (when running) compared to Geordie - or was that microphone placement?
Poem has a GM 6 cylinder gas engine. which runs very well but I don’t like gas engines in boats. Quiet though…
tapi tap tap
I need to gain your address so i can send you some of our local beer from sussex County Delaware .
