This is one of my all time favorite Ullman skits. The acting and writing are of the highest quality. The skit showcases Laurie’s amazing talent but Ullman’s dual take on a sidesplitting Princess Margret and Timmy’s wife are equally extraordinary.
Tracy & Hugh are absolutely brilliant! Pity we hadn't seen this before - they could easily reprise their roles and perhaps send up The Crown & current Royal household.
Comedy is squarely based in reality and it's the truth of ourselves and society that we hear. There is a 'meeting of the minds' between people who laughs together and at the same things. It's funny 'cause it's true. It used to be called the man on the street.
Last night I saw the first release of John Oliver's Last Week Tonight on the monarchy. And today this! Absolutely brilliant! Brilliantly done Tracy Ullman and Hugh Laurie! Thank you very much for all the moments..
I've loved Tracey forever it seems, she never disappoints. And if anyone hasn't watched every episode of House at least once do it now. I'm in love with Hugh Laurie. He's one of all too few multitalented human beings. Amazingly talented man.
My goodness. In the thumbnail, with Hugh Laurie's hair slicked down like that, and the expression on his face, he looks like the male royals of the early 20th century!
Let's just say I never heard of the Countess of Snowdon being accused of complaining about the liquor, unless there wasn't any nearby. HRH made Queen Cercei look like a prohibitionist.
I couldn't make out who Tracey was impersonating until she said she knew Peter Sellers. Then I saw that this dates from 1997, which confirms it's the late Princess Margaret.
Hugh Laurie is going to be voice acting the role of Maurice in "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents" by Terry Pratchett and I can't even say how happy I am to have one of my favorite actors in an adaptation of a book by one of my favorite authors. (RIP Sir Terry).

Certainly madam: applause 👏 👏🙂👏👏..
He’s the best!
Bloody brilliant in everything that he does!
He never lets us down.

Hugh Laurie - magnificent comedian as well as being a marvelous actor and musician! I still love his and Stephen Fry's Jeeves and Wooster
Me too!!!
They were meant for those roles.
Hugh Laurie is the BEST!
Hugh Laurie and Tracey Ullman...it doesn't get any better!
I almost pee my pants....so hilarious. The best comedy is Hugh Laurie and Tracy Ullman.

The cigarette holder makes it clear that the HRH is actually Princess Margaret.
Hugh brings out his best Bertie Wooster for this part.

Too funny! These actors are so great! 😁😂😂😂
The best show. Comedy is so natural to him. His performance in A bit of Fry and Laurie outclasses most of the comedies.
4:33 Hugh Laurie has mastered the art of falling over! His little scream makes me laugh so much.
My goodness. In the thumbnail, with Hugh Laurie's hair slicked down like that, and the expression on his face, he looks like the male royals of the early 20th century!
I hope Princess Margaret wasn't really that horrible. Tracey and Hugh are so timeless.
She was worse.
Let's just say I never heard of the Countess of Snowdon being accused of complaining about the liquor, unless there wasn't any nearby. HRH made Queen Cercei look like a prohibitionist.
She was terrible. It was really a relief for Palace staff when she died finally.
She was spoiled and haughty wh>le the Queen was more down to Earth. Heard she was rude to people.
I understand Margaret was just like this. I almost think people were releived when she could no longer socialize. How sad to have that as your legacy.
Tracey and Hugh both brilliant there.
Tracy always hilarious
One of the best of all the Ullman skits I've seen so far.

@@taraxacum They should have made a gender swap reboot of Mrs Doubtfire with Tracey Ullman. She would have been brilliant in that role.
Yes!
Yes!
He’s brilliant.
Superb !
Arrogant royalty is no joke. Brilliantly acted, showing obsequiousness of 'social climbers'.
A brilliant send up of how completely ridiculous royalty is.
Princess Margaret - Queens sister - if you were wondering. Sad thing is, there are still people as ludicrously deferential in the UK to this day.
One is VERY amused!
One waits!
"Is there another loo?"
"Yes upstairs"
(Everyone runs out)
I can't stop lauding this is tragically funny
Absolutely great. Can't stop laughing.
1:01 his expression 😂😂😂
Would rather Hugh play a ditty on piano, to offend HRH, than slip on floor. Next one maybe, a ditty about the last Royal visit would be hilarious.
He was great in, "101 Dalmatians." Great comic actor.
That's the same set that Monty Python used in the death scene in "The Meaning of Life".
Watching this after the chaos of the last 18 months gave me an overwhelming sense of disgust for those using HRH 😳
It's a comedy skit. It's not based on any truth.

2 behemoth of sketches.
who is HRH? I thought that meant a Royal Highness or something like that. Is the suppose to be the Queen? Sorry I am an American not getting this.
Princess Margaret
Yes. Royalty is most interesting to watch but not to be in the company of. Utterly boring and too much of a strain on the guests.
Too strictly highlarious!
TIL there's such a thing as a Princess Margaret fetish
