On board Mein Schiff 2 we enjoy a cruise in the Orient at the turn of the year 2023-2024! Starting from Dubai (UAE), we visit Abu Dhabi (UAE), Khasab (Oman), Muscat (Oman), Sir Bani Yas Island (UAE) and Doha in Qatar.
In this video, we show you our GetYourGuide day trip to the fjords of Khasab. The fjords of Khasab in Oman are among the most scenic places in the region. Rugged rock faces, turquoise blue water and dolphins living in freedom invite you to swim, snorkel and explore. On board a traditional dhow, our route leads us from the harbor into the mighty fjords. Here we soon encounter playful dolphins who have great fun accompanying the boats for a while. After several encounters with these wonderful animals, we head to our first snorkeling spot off Telegraph Island. Here, after jumping into the cool water, we enjoy the diversity of Khasab's underwater world: sea urchins, sea cucumbers and countless colorful fish populate the rocky bottom of the fjords. The snorkeling equipment and cosy towels are provided by the excursion provider. Back on board, a delicious lunch with typical delicacies from the region awaits us. For dessert, we enjoy various fruits, dates and the particularly delicious tea and coffee, which are prepared with exquisite spices in Oman. Various soft drinks and water are of course also available. Well-fed, we then head back into the water at the second snorkeling spot. And of course you can also use the dhow as a diving platform. A wonderfully refreshing swim. Exhausted, happy and full to the brim with new impressions, we finally head back to the harbor, where our excursion ends after a good six hours. Incidentally, this excursion is also sold by the cruise lines - with a hefty surcharge on rather well-filled dhows. If you want to experience the excursion for significantly less money and on noticeably emptier boats, you should book directly with the provider via GetYourGuide - it's worth it!

Tolle Bilder und Eindrücke, vor allem wenn man selbst schon dort war. Unser Kapitän ist allerdings leider wie ein verrückter rasend durch die Fjorde gefahren 😮
Vielen Dank. 🤗 Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal da. Wir hatten jedes Mal die lange 6-Stunden-Tour mit Mittagessen via GetYourGuide gebucht und uns auf beiden Touren über eine sehr leere Dau und eine super entspannte Crew gefreut. Auf der Tour aus dem Video sahen wir auf dem Rückweg nochmals Delfine. Also fragte unser Skipper nochmal nach den Tenderzeiten und als klar war, dass wir noch reichlich Zeit übrig hatten, haben wir einfach dreißig Minuten zusätzlich nach Delfinen Ausschau gehalten. Wir hatten Pech - unsere Ostertour im Roten Meer für dieses Jahr musste seitens MSC leider abgesagt werden. 👍👍Wir drücken euch beide Daumen, dass eure Reise angesichts der Situation im Roten Meer wie geplant stattfinden kann.
