This elevator has a scary floor passing chime, which I hate. It sounds like a Wheelock fire alarm NS horn. The floor passing chime in the Lincoln Memorial elevator in DC sounds like a Wheelock AS.
I don't know what ever became of Desert Elevator but I know they were originally formed by former employees when Marquis Elevator dissolved. When Desert Elevator modded the tower elevators at the Showboat (later Castaways... sadly imploded... 2800 Fremont St./Bounder Hwy.), they were the first talking elevators I'd ever seen. We made jokes about those poor women riding on top of the elevators day in and day out... "First floor, casino, restaurants"...
If you wouldn't mind me asking, what did you mostly do in Vegas? I'm heading out there tomorrow and am trying to find things to do since gambling obviously isn't an option. My dad and older brother will put enough money into the casino as it is anyway. Do you know of any arcades or other things for those of us under 21 to in Vegas? The freaking pool closes early too so I can't even just go hang out there. I'm staying at the Luxor by the way.

That girl was so amused by this beauty, and quite frankly I'd react the same way!
Lol yup.
Why was that little girl asking which floor they were going to when she knew that there was only one option?

0:14 "now that we get in the floor the pole is gonna push us up" ma'am thats a hydraulic piston and an elevator not a floor and pole
I know that's a Dover phone but, for some reason, I always thought these were installed by Desert Elevator... I don't recall why.

I must say that is one very annoying floor passing chime. It almost sounds like a fire alarm.
Sounds like a Wheelock NS.

Sounds like an olympics whistle.
Thank goodness that Floor Passing Chime is very annoying like a Wheelock Horn Strobe Fire Alarm.
