The BEST trek we've ever done! Have you been to Tajikistan before, or heard about the Fann Mountains? Drop us a comment and let us know what you think. Your videos get better every time. The footage is incredible and the editing is top-notch. You two are very missed. Have fun walking among the donkeys and Tajikistani children!
That’s more like it. Bang on! Vibrant, beautiful and makes me want to go there. Del, you are the man and I name you: Kim’s Rock. Solid - great respect.
Thank you! Very much appreciated. Where in the region did you live? We're looking forward to returning some time for more hiking here, Tajikistan is just beautiful!
Holy f#@&! What a beautiful place!! First class filming and editing as usual, who needs Netflix and regular (yawn) TV when you have stuff like this. Delicious stuff guys 😃👍🏼
Woop woop! Great response ; ) One of the most beautiful places we've ever been. We think about it all the time! Will definitely be returning for more trekking here at some point.
Some of those trails look less traveled is this virgin trekking country. Beautiful scenery. You have a great website. Do you have an article on what gear you carry.
Yeah, some of these trails are definitely less travelled. And thank you! We have an article about our photography gear, but not a specific one about our hiking/camping gear. We have packing lists in our Fann Mountains trekking guide though, and most of that stuff is the same as what we use - www.goingthewholehogg.com/fann-mountains-trekking-routes-practicalities/#fannswhattotake
Please share your journey in instagram too. Me and my wife are following you in youtube, facebook and in your blog. Cant get enough of your adventure. We love you as a lively couple and great adventurers. Love you.
Thanks so much for the support you two! We have shared some photos before from Tajikistan on Instagram, and you can still watch all of our stories from the trek in our stories highlights here >> instagram.com/stories/highlights/17887176088256592/ Thanks again for following along! Have a wonderful day : )
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! We hiked in the first half of August and the weather was great for us. We have a couple of guides over on the blog if you want some help planning your trek there - this one is our trek itinerary www.goingthewholehogg.com/independent-trekking-fann-mountains/ and this one covers a few different trek options and info for hiking in the region www.goingthewholehogg.com/fann-mountains-trekking-routes-practicalities/ It's amazing there, definitely recommend it! Cheers, Kim
Thanks! We were self sufficient, although it is possible to hire a guide and/or pack donkey. If you want some more info, we've written about all the practical stuff in our Fann Mountains trekking guide (bit.ly/38SYmYG) and more about our trek specifically in this post - bit.ly/38SYU0G
Hey Joanna! Good questions. It was always warm during the day but cooler in the evening and early morning, especially when we got to higher altitudes (although, one night the ground was freakishly warm, like we had underfloor heating!). As for bugs, thankfully it wasn't really a problem. The one exception was camping at Dushakha Lake where we had to battle some kind of massive horseflies for a short spell. And no rain. Basically it was near perfect :)
We just hiked independently. Did some research before and planned our route, took enough food, etc. We've written up some more info in a couple of guides over on our blog if you're interested - General guide and overview of different trekking routes: www.goingthewholehogg.com/fann-mountains-trekking-routes-practicalities/ and more detail about our route: www.goingthewholehogg.com/independent-trekking-fann-mountains/ One of the best hikes we've ever done! Beautiful, what month, season was this filmed? The weather seemed like summer
D Neira thank you! It was filmed during the first half of August, so yes it was Summer. A great time to trek!
did you guys use any tour comp to arrange anything or just rock up yourself and make your own plan for the hike?
We just hiked independently. @@GoingTheWholeHogg Got it.
