- Fancy doing this? giving up bricks and sticks for a life in the sun..and money in the bank. All of the british people we have met on our adventure have done just this...sold up and are living the dream and having a fab time too with no regrets...here we meet Anne and Richard from Bracknell who have lived this lifestyle for many years abroad and show us around their caravan and set up.

guys absolutely love you video's they are so entertaining and informative, you are a great double act. I am definitely going to do this. I dont think i am as brave as Anne but i lovely her home in Spain, but i would have to keep by bolt hole in the UK i think.

I've lived in 25ft boat in England for 2years & love it. The winters are too long & gloomy though. I think I'll get a caravan & head over to Spain from November to April from now on. Thanks for the great videos & thanks Anne for opening your home up to us.

Live in the US for 33 years ,camping for 15 and this video just gave me a idea,but in Portugal,Thx ,btw very nice setup.
I wouldn't like to tow that caravan but it is beautiful. Love the setup in the awning. Hope they have a great life out there.

Fendt, Dethleffs and Hobby are all German made caravans/trailers and the best quality. I am selling my house in the UK and doing the same in the next year or so.

good video Summer I have a place in Spain and have to tell you the running cost are so much cheaper than a campsite but some people just love those campsites so to all of them be happy.
I want to emigrate back to Spain (from US) permanently! This idea could speed up my timeline... just wish I could take the Airstream with me. Enjoy Spain...I love it there 😎
Call up RockIt Cargo. Maybe they can tack you onto one of their world wide rock tours inexpensively!
What a good tip the pallets are yes it will keep the awning floor dry and warmer.
Pallets for the awning floor are a great idea, awnings do flood in the heavy rains.

We've done the same.. living on a beautiful campsite with Spa etc. We live in a American 5th Wheel (RV) have a lovely all year round pitch in sunny Spain.
Sylvia that sounds lovely, we met a couple in their 70s with 5th wheel in Mojacar it was huge but he says it easier than a caravan! good luck to you totally jell xx

Thats the lifestyle I want. Keep our house in the UK, but buy a used full size static cheaply and do it up. This was a great vid and Anne's caravan is excellent; what a great use of space. Thanks for a fab upload.

Hi Benzo... Its worth it if you fancy a house holiday but we prefer our caravan and the freedom and if course we have our dog summer so for us the saving money relates to doing our preference. Of course it would be cheaper still to fly but sadly dogs can't as yet... When the day comes when we are dogless she us 14 next month and I know the day will come 😭 we will be off to Tenerife for winter in an apartment and go further afield. There's nothing wrong with sounding like a travel agent... Its great to share experiences to others which we do often... We are seriously thinking of Portugal next winter... Will start the research soon... We went on a cheap hol to olhao and stayed in a 5 star hotel it was fab the islands the deserted beaches... Love to go back... Stay in touch May need your advice for the planning regards Judy and Mark xxx

FYI Annes caravan is a Fendt Diamant and was bought for 10k Euro including awning in Spain. 2006 model
It's certainly becoming that way nowadays.... Living in a house is becoming so expensive it's an attractive option...caravans these days are like palaces on wheels Fully recommend this lifestyle... Good luck to you if you achieve it xxx

Did you watch Benidorm on a budget , there was a mature couple who have a small tourer on their Camp Site and they take a small suitcase and just catch a plane cheaply when they return home to the U.K 🇬🇧

Im English, speak fluent German, as i lived there. Im a plumber, a good ine as well, know markets inside out, and it wad a struggle.
I like British made caravans tbh it made in the UK that the best bit

Where do you get the outdoor kitchen, very nice! I am from the states, do you have a lot of wind, we would have to take down and roll in awnings we have such bad storms!

Would you have a indication on total costs on permanent living on a campsite, in my case Valencia area, in Spain? Like rent of space, electricity an running water and such? Would be very helpful if I could have some more info. I got my NIE number already, lived for a year in Gran Canaria.

Hey hun we are 10 mins from bracknell in uk just question how many days did it take to drive from uk to spain and what campsite you staying and how much were the travelling costs thankyou
It took 3 days to drive from Cherborg to Denia but it depends on how fast you are comfortable to drive. I'm not sure of costs today 3 years on but imagine it to be a lot more than it was in 2018. We now just work in Wales for 6 months living in our caravan and go to Tenerife for winter. Much more cost effective flying and renting a poolside apartment. X

@@ednorton47 Thank you 😊 I reviewed the video and did see that. I'm sad that they are not here in the states because it was exactly what I have been looking for. I swear....everywhere outside of the States are amazingly made rv's/caravans. The quality here just is not up to the craftsmanship as it is eksewhere.

@@gioiapharo7433 I agree 😉 I have been searching for an RV exactly like this and especially when I did some research and found the prices to be outstanding and very affordable. A new one 2018/19 are only around 20,000 or less and used is a 1/3 or less. That made me even more saddened to know that. Not only are they spacious, solid fiberglass, full of light and have stunning interiors....they are way below my price range.

Thanks again.looking forward to your next video. Our caravan is on a seasonal pitch on a small site called Gallowhill in kinross, Perthshire ,which is famous for Loch Leven Castle. This is where Mary Queen is Scott's was held prisoner before she was taken for her execution.
The site opens on good Friday. We both can't wait

robert burnett ...I love Scotland I spent all my hols in a caravan on the side of Loch Linnie in Onich as a child..so beautiful...we love our van so much and just lived for weekends to get in it...hence we decided to live in it and becoming cc wardens too was the icing on the cake...not long now till we get stuck into our roles xxx

Lots of Brits go to Spain due to health issues.. It used to be easy to do but due to brexit you can now only go for 90 days but still it's worth doing x

We are planning are first winter in spain this year. Looking at the benidorm area for our first stay can you recommend and dog friendly sites and did you find that you needed to book long in advance. Thanks jon and sue
Hi... When we go to Benidorm we stay in hotel in Albir... We leave caravan wherever we are at the time... Benidorm sites are too packed and expensive for us we like quieter sites.. We will be going there Jan 16th fir marks 50th but not planned sites yet...no we don't book to far ahead as we don't go to the big sites... Xx
This is fabulous . My only concern is the closeness you are to other caravans . We have a seasonal pitch where we are ( England) and there is a decent amount of space between each one. This would put me off .....
And your right they are close together but thats what its like in Spain certainly not like UK...but we have since found some gems ran by english with lots of room xx

We've only been to a few but our fav is canada camping in mojacar it's like a cl site in UK massive pitches and your not licking next doors windows x

Many of those we interviewed for our vlog have returned to the UK. We are back in Benidorm for a cheeky visit in October so it will be interesting to see if things have changed there x
Hello mates. How do these camp sites in Spain work. Do you pay a monthly, yearly fee or do you buy the land outright and live there for free for the rest of your life ?
You would need to speak to the campsite direct that you want to stay at. Most are monthly fees that we have seen. They vary alot in price dependant on facilities and comfort you require. But with Brexit im not sure how this is going to effect living on a campsite all year...we will have to wait and see. xx

It's interesting to see the difference between American RVs and European ones. Do you not have slides in any of your RVs? We live in a 37' motorhome and don't miss a house at all. Great vlog, thanks.
You see a few, but you have to remember how small European roads are, made for horse and carts hundreds of years ago. This means you would be limited to where you could go.
daseteam Yeah understand roads are much narrower but you don't drive with them out lol, it just makes a big diff when you are parked. Plus if you full time it makes a big diff.
Yes, but comes down to size and weight. We don't have fifth wheels, they are too big. We only have European size trucks, so fewer truck campers. Something like an American A class or even B class would be too big. Gas is also more expensive here, so while some people are smugly talking about their economical sprinters in the US with a 3.5 liter V6 gas engine, the same vehicle here has a 2 liter 4 cylinder diesel. Gas cost 6 dollars a gallon here.
daseteam The cost of gas and truck size makes sense. It would seem like many of the sites could handle rigs with slides especially seeing the add on room you use when parked. Fun to see the differences, thanks.
@@daseteam It looked to me like the caravan in this video was very wide. Our standard width here in the states is approx 6 1/2 ft - 8 ft. That's why most rv's here have slide out expansions. So that when we get to our destination we can open it up for more space. A 5th wheel is the same width and the only difference is the height of cabover the truckbed.

Marilyn Wisbey Yes there are camping shops in Spain but they are pricy on certain things compared to uk...although Anne tells me you can buy awning carpet on a roll...which we shall for our awning annexxe. I will pass on message to Anne. X
Hi Marilyn, we bought our carpet online from a company called Obelink. Very good prices and they deliver for a price aswell. This is sometimes cheaper than buying from a shop.

Basically, they are camping! But, with all the overstuffed furniture, there is no room to move about. I say, small and simple, be a REAL camper and make do.
And that's the point they are and loving it too... Its personal what you stuff in your little space I like nic nacs so I have got lots of stuff stuffed in... If your happy who cares xx

my nan an grandad lived in javea and Alicante for years and I tell you what it was fantastic but as u say it’s not as easy as the early 2000s and yea cannot stand England whatsoever
