      Just like scraping your board. Even though it’s a crappy job and it can take a while, you just need to breathe and take your time. And when you’re done you’ll feel soooo relieved!

    Some people strongly recommend to loosen/remove bindings to make the job easier and avoid dimples from the screws in the base while hot waxing.

    • @PeterGlennSports
      @PeterGlennSports  11 місяців тому +4

      Thats mainly for scraping the board. Any dimples in the base from over tightening the screws are 9 times out of 10 still going to be there slightly when you take the bindings off and you will still have to scrape into them with the corner of your scraper. So technically yes it will be a little easier to scrape but I personally don't think its worth the extra trouble. Up to you though.

    Can you damage your base by scraping with too much pressure on the straight edge of the scraper?

    • @PeterGlennSports
      @PeterGlennSports  11 місяців тому

      I suppose you could but you would have to be putting an unusual amount of pressure on the base. It doesn’t take much to scrape the wax

    It seems to be faster to heat up the bar and then rub it than just to drip it. It also seems to spread it much more even. After that of course use the iron.
    Is that a good method?

    • @PeterGlennSports
      @PeterGlennSports  11 місяців тому +1

      Depending on the heat it could be, but the time you save is minimal so up to you 👍

      HAHA, so random. I just saw that like 2 hours ago, I'm super skeptical about how effective it really is. We have a video going live on the 31st about "easy wax methods" that are still not as good as a hot wax, but good to use when theres a time constraint. I basically do the exact same thing in that video with a $50 wax iron instead of a $250 IR machine. 😆🤷‍♂

    What can I do when the wax is not really sticking on my base on my Capita Super DOA 2022 even when I use the correct temperature for the wax and so on? Its just after 1-2 Ski days the wax is falling out of the base in little chunks.

    • @PeterGlennSports

      you could try using base cleaner or even isopropyl alcohol to fully remove old dirt or residue. Make sure the base is not too hot either as that can affect the absorption of the wax

    Does wax color matter is it gonna dye my board

    • @fabes326
      @fabes326 14 днів тому

      Won’t dye the board. The color of wax is for the conditions (temp of snow) you are riding in. Gold/yellow is for 32F+, purple is for all temps, but I don’t think it would be the best for freezing temps. Blue is for below 32F. There are a bunch of other colors from different companies.
