  • Kubota B 2920 Mower Deck Installation and Removal. Its quite simple, drive-over mower decks from Kubota are nice. It's a one-man job and takes about 5 min to install or take off. No tools required, it's held in place with retaining pins and a quick attach in the front.

    It looked straightforward enough, but you never know if there's some secret trick to make it easier. Thanks for making this so we can double check.

    Thank you very much! I purchased a B23 a few months ago and am prepping it for winter. I like the wood block ramps. Even with the casters up, the deck wanted to roll with the tractor.

    Do you know if all Kubota mower decks can be driven over? Or is that something new.

      hmmm I don't think all Kubota decks are meant to be driven over. I think that's the way they are leaning towards for new mowers though

      I have a 2019 60" MMM RCK60-BA on my B2650 and the deck is NOT for riding over to get it in place. Not recommended for all decks, varies by the model apparently - others you can ride over. The 72" MMM is also built differently than the 60". The BX decks are different than those made for the B series.
      As I said, my model of 60" finish mower is NOT made for riding over. I am able to work the mower deck under the tractor with a sideways "crab crawl". I do this on my driveway and not in the grass so I have a hard surface to work on. I turn the deck wheels and also turn the tractor's front wheels to the right (or left) before trying to get the deck under the tractor. It does take some effort, but it works. The other steps are the same for making the connections of the shaft, pins, and front bracket.
      Another technique: I've seen other vids where the front of the tractor is raised by using the FEL a little. This gives you more wiggle and work room while trying to slide the deck in place. Of course, this method only works if you still have the FEL on before you attempt the deck install, though. I generally take my FEL off for the summer when mowing only. Your mileage may vary. :-)

    • @appalachiandiy2415

      It does not. However, BX series does come off the same as a B series. The BX series mostly have decks that are NOT drive-over so be care of that.

      I have a Kubota BX23 S which comes with a backhoe so that is why I went with the belly mower. I haven’t had it that long, but I took the mower off once and couldn’t get it back on because apparently I bent some linkage underneath. The dealer had to replace the linkage and was able to get it back on. After all I have heard I am dreading taking it off now!

    • @5thid738
      @5thid738 Рік тому

      Yes. There's a pin with an ring retainer that will go through the brass piece that attaches to each end of the lift bar. Lift the assembly up on each side and rotate the brass piece to align with the hole in the lift arm. Insert pin through both and install ring in hole on end of pin. This will keep your lift arms in the up position.

    The stress you are putting on the outer pulleys, shafts, bearings, and seals just isn't worth the convenience. My 2000 RCK 60-24B deck weighs 350 pounds and you cannot drive over it. I'm sure Kubota is shedding even more weight on the newer decks. It may be "easy" but something has to give when driving half of a 1600 pound tractor over it.
