The problem is his policies are only making things more expensive. The extensive federal regulations and subsidies only cause universities to raise their costs and pass them on to students.

This is so disheartening. I worked two jobs (60 hours/week) and had two school loans (paid back within 5 years) and was in a sorority and little sister for a fraternity, while at GT full time. It’s called hard work. Education should not be free. The cost teaches you priorities and stamina. These are lessons the young people need. Things have become too easy for them. GT has already reduced costs by using innovative technologies. Let other schools learn how to manage a budget and run their business. If they can’t, then they don’t deserve to be a school.

are you kidding me?! college has on average become 2.5x more expensive than it was a few decades ago.. are you tell me that it has gotten 2.5x better? That combined with the fact that nowadays, a college degree doesn't guarantee jack shit and there is a 44% underemployment rate for recent graduates shows you that the market is oversaturated with useless degrees. The insane cost of college is delaying young people's marriage, delaying them from starting families, delaying them from becoming entrepreneurs, delaying them from saving for retirment, this generation is fucked because of the price gouging your collegiate friends have done to us. I agree college should not be free, but $55000 a semester for wake forest tuition. ARE YOU KIDDING ME

you are mistaken my friend, the young generation is working harder than ever before and is more indebted than ever before. The cards are stacked against us from the beginning where you boomers have convinced us that college is abosulutely necessary for succuss when a paper degree gaurantees nothing in our economy today. The American dream has fallen apart. Working hard no longer correlates with success or economic mobility as highly as it did in the past. Getting a job in the past was so easy compared to now not even close

ADK - become creative then. Not to mention the COL has gone up and wages have kept up. Same value. It's called basic economics.

ADK - no one convinced you a degree is necessary except yourself. Go to a trade school. Trades often make a heck of lot more than 4-year college grads. Quit whining and buck up cupcake.
