Just stumbled on your videos recently and now watching all your stuff. Your products are so well thought out and innovative with no needless fluff. What a pleasure to explore all this!
What a brilliant idea, all what's left to do is remember exactly what sounds are on each preset, apart from that it's the best invention I've seen in years well done
Want to make the GigRig better? Put in a 10 port isolated DC power supply to power the pedals. Then allow the G2 to control sag as one of the presets. It would make it a wee bit bigger, but worth it. Put each DC port between each in/out TRS pair and the only additional space needed would be for the power supply.
That's absolutely amazing! This is briliant! the only issue I would have is the number of pedals limited to 10 but i am still considering buying 1. The pedal show is my favorite youtube channel, very instructive and perfectly done, thank you Daniel and also Mickey for the high quality content!
Watching this on That Pedal Show and seeing all the updates it has recieved jas placed this onto my 'will purchase' list. It's a truly fantastic solution to the tap dance.
Daniel I absolutely love you and your products (tho I don't own any yet too broke lol) what you, mick and the gig rig company do for the guitar community is just amazing. I have learned so much from you guys
Daniel you're a genius!!!! G2 was already amazing now this makes it even more!! Love using your gig rig power supply has been so much help and ease of use and has made my rig sound better
After a few years of hesitating I finally ordered mine. Will be delivered tomorrow. Last time I felt like this I was a little kid the day before christmas. If only the UPS-man will drive carefully ...!
You sir, are an innovator. Will get one of these when the need strikes, (which will likely be sooner rather than later, as my love for stomp boxes keeps climbing higher).
I'm playing not live anymore, but Wow this is superb for live gigging with people who loves pedal boxes effects. During my time midi with multi effects racks and presets is the only way to go for live gigs for changing different sound effects. The price though is a put off to lots of us guitarists.
I just moved to the G2 system Mid Jan this year. Got the whole deal, G2 with several accessories (distributor, isolators, Time lords etc) , Evidence SIS cable and a pedal board from Custom Pedalboards UK. This was a major upgrade for me . This replaced my rack set -up . With out a doubt, my sound is more pure & organic. Only piece of gear I kept from my old switching system was the GigRig Z Cable. It is hard to explain what the Z Cable does. It almost makes everything sound like it is hard wired into your amp. I can easily live with out it as the G2 gives me more of a direct sound than my previous switcher, but the Z Cable just makes it all sound even MO BETTA !
Well now that I understand how it works I have to get one. Damn! That's a brilliant product! I hope you guys don't mind getting 3700 emails while I try to set this up.
I am saving money in order to get this baby. I have seen what this thing is capable of and I belive it's worth every cent! My pedalboard is connected to an ENGL Fireball 60 and I am going to expand it. Well I guess Alex Lifeson made me become a "massive guy" .. just to quote him :)
I would love to see one of these videos going in depth of the midi capabilites. Can you change presets on several pedals? Can you configure buttons to control specific things of midi capable pedals? Can you comunicate with your daw? It would be awesome to know... If all of this answers are yes, I know what santa is bringing home this christmas...
question... how would be the best way to go about using a G2 with a vocal processor like the voicelive 3 that needs the guitar to go through it for calibrating the harmonies without loosing tone? your advice would really help me. thanks for being amazing!
If you put a HumDinger early in the audio chain of G2, send the isolated output to the vocal processor. This keeps the guitar signal clean and sends what you need to the vocal processor 👍
Please incorporate sending pedals to different amps at the same time. The most obvious example is with overdrive pedals. I want a two amp set up where one uses a tube screamer and the other an OCD. Together they are a force of nature. Your G2 would only allow both amps to be on AND both pedals to be on both going to each amp. I want both amps on and a different OD to each. It’s actually quite baffling that no switcher even the Boss ES-8 has this as a feature. You could be the first! Let’s go “G3”!
Hi Daniel, You are the best!!! One question about how to maximize my G2 and using my new Lehle mono volume pedal and using the amplifiers FX loop send/return. What would be the best way to maximize variety of usage and best tone? My number one reason I have the Lehle volume pedal is to make the beautiful volume sweeps where the attack of the note is not audible and then the volume sweep comes... reminds me of some sort of violin kind of sound. but it'd be cool to maximize the usage of everything.
Thanks Alvaro, whatever loop you’re using to connect to your amps input, simply put the volume before that in the loop. For example, if you’re using the volume insert in G2 to connect to your amps preamp, the signal path would look like G2 Loop Send > Volume pedal > amp input > amp fx loop send > G2 loop return > G2 output > amp fx loop return 👍
I tried powering the Gigrig G2 with the Strymon Zuma i have 9V 500mA but it's doing weird things, the G2 just kicks me out of my preset and goes to present 14 when it wants, and sometimes it freezes up on preset 13 and won't let me click on anything else... is there anyway i can utilize my Zuma to power it, i have extra ports available, maybe using a "Y" splitter cable?
Hi Alvaro, yes, you need a current doubling cable. You take 2 high current outputs from the Zuma and connect them to the cable adapter which will double the available current 👍
@@TheGigRigDaniel oh wow! thank you I really hope that solves the problem. G2 keeps kicking me off of my presets and sending m2 to preset 13 and then it just freezes up on there. It's been a night mare... I will try the doubling current cable and report back. I hope you have an amazing day!
HI Dan! I love the G2. Good job mate. Can I ask you is your Marshall 2x12 cab custom made? It appears the Marshall type head fits on it without overlapping. My 1969 small box 50 watt Marshall overlaps on a Marshall 2061CX cab. Is your head smaller than a real Marshall smallbox?
Good morning my friend, what's the mark of this Pedalboard? I liked the layout of the pedals in it. I bought a Gig Rig and I would like to set up my set in this format ... thanks Marcelo- Brazil

I've seen the Sonuus one but it appears to be monophonic. I'm hoping you have some suggestions and/or someone reading this might. Thanks very much for your time!
horrible news. This was the last feature missing that I saw on one or two others while shopping around for a loop switcher. Now, left with no reason not to choose this over everything else available, my wallet just got considerably lighter :(
I'm wondering if you'd need a buffer in any sort of situation with the g2. I'm also curious as the best way to run cabling between guitar and pedalboard then between pedal board and amp/effects loop in a live situation. Thanks
***** No way. A stereo solid state power amp into two 2x12 cabinets is the way to go! Seriously. Try it. It takes a little tweaking, but soon enough you will love the crispness, tightness, clarity, etc. I plug my ME-50 straight into my old Yamaha stereo, and the sound is incredible. I can see why so many musicians use solid state power amps. Van Halen, Cobain, Steve Stevens, etc.
What if I have more than 10 effects; How do they fit in a 10-loop-system? I ask because I can see 12 effects + Tuner + volume/expresion pedal and G2 only hase 10 Loops. Maybe someone can help me. Thx
What pedals are you using at the beginning for the distorted tone? :) And also when will there be more demos of the TheGigRig Autopot? Wanna see it in action
Hey Dan, I love what you've done and I love the channel. I've got a question for you (and anyone with some ideas). I am disabled and I control my pedals with my hands (my Temple Audio pedal board sits on a keyboard stand beside me). Right now I'm doing the tap-dance with my hands but I don't have a tonne of room of my pedal board for the gig rig. Is there a way you can think of or a product that you make where I could have a programmable looper (like the gig rig) under my board and a small midi controller I could even stick on my guitar. I'd love to have all the options of the gig rig with a small hand-controller - do you think it's possible? Sean
Would the G2 be able to switch/bank my H9's up and down through presets? I would want to hook my two H9's to the G2 in Stereo and it would be ideal if I could use switches 13 & 14 and 6 & 7 for those purposes. Is it possible?
Let's say that I use some pedals into the loop of the amp. Will it combine with the pedals in the front of the amp? Can I mix these in one stepped? Thanks!!!
Hi, i'm interested on the g2. One question. If i want to control , let's say, the looper in the strymon timeline can i ? I mean, you can control that with midi cc. Does the g 2 operate in this mode, sending cc with the selectors ?Thx. What about if i want a built pedal board as the one Danies have ? Thanks a lot. Flavio from milano
+Flavio Ibba hi Flavio, G2 sends program patch change info, but not cc messages. To use the looper just keep the Strymon in range of your foot. Works a treat ;)
Hi Dan,I have a G2 I have received end of february16 so I believe this is a 2.0 software one. Unfortunately the manual is not yet updated and I don't know how to re-order the loops ;-) could you please tell me how to do that? Thanks in advance !!!
+Strat Stratocasphere hi Strat, if you want to email us for any details we'll get you sorted. The moving loops instructions was with the upgrade instructions. You can move loops 1~8. Go to a preset, choose the loops you want for that sound, then press and hold the loop you want to move, it will flash, then simply select the loop you want it to go before. So if you want loop 5 to go btwern loops 7&8, you want it before loop 8. It will flash and you're done :)
Check out the Boss ES 8 switcher, its amazing, it can side chain effects. It has A PC and Mac editor....simply amazing. You can edit the menus names on your Mac. Time to retire the old G2... Sorry Dan. My G2 was a bit flakey when it came to the pedal order function.
Hello Can You add a loop (effect) to a program? Like it's possible in EC Custom Super Switcher? Like this: in presset 1 I have overdrive and flanger, and button 2 just add delay to to running presset 1 (to any curently running presset), Is that possible? And if I change preset (f.ex. to presset nr 3) I will not switch off my delay. Toswitch off my delay I will step on button 2.
Seriously waiting for a change away from quarter inch phone jacks they're just too damn big and every well not every but just about every stereo effect I have is a hassle if you want to save space w/the RA 90°. I'd prefer RCA or those new small connectors like on satellite radio or even a screw in block, with a hinged grounded cover over the whole row. Save so much time just strip the cable and screw it down on one side, as long as it's not noise introducing. Man you could shrink the whole size down too I would think.
Thanks in advance for putting up with my ignorance, but I'm just a home player with a standard tap dance pedal board. All this switching stuff is new to me, but I'm all kinds of excited by this thing. I love the idea of switching from, say, my van halen tone to my srv tone with one stomp rather than switching my amp channel and stepping on a good handful of pedals. The idea of putting any pedal anywhere in the chain blows me away too. I'm used to having to rewire my whole damn board every time I want to experiment with pedal order! Anyway, does that metal suitcase thing come with the unit? If not, what's it called and where do we get it? Next, what's the maximum number of pedals that can be hooked up to the unit? Also, what are those sleek cable connectors called? I have planet waves pedal kits, and the sound quality is great, but they're rather bulky for pedals with jacks on the sides and my board loses real estate with a big gap between pedals. Thanks for the help, cheers, Joe
Hi Joe. The flight case is separate, I use grcases.co.uk. There are 10 effects loops on G2, and I use Evidence Audio SiS or Lava Cable Tightrope path cables. Cheers Joe :)
+Daniel TheGigRig thanks for the reply, I've been poking around the gig rig website and finding some answers. So when I see your custom builds with more than ten pedals, are some of those not hooked up to the g2? I can't think of a reason a wah wouldn't be ahead of the g2, or a noise gate and looper after it? I have 15 pedals right now, but those three would get me down to 12. Thanks again for putting up with my ignorance!
Joe Sanders just a heads up u can email tge gigrig ream thru the contact link on their site they always answer....u can expand up to 14 pedals via the remote switches and their loopy 2 product...email them tho! GREAT company
Pedals in any order - my God you JUST solved the (only) wish I had as I await shipment of my G2. Thanks Dan - you the man!
Does that actually mean any pedal order? or is it 1 pdeal tha can move. so if i had 1 2 3 4, could you actually move the order to be 4 3 2 1?

Excellent news on reorder-able loops...
Been looking to be able to do this for a long time. Brilliant!

What an awesome piece of kit!

Wooow Great Product , I'm gonna get one !
Really clever stuff.
Amazing gear.
I would love something like this, but I'm not pro and can't justify the expense. Great piece of gear though!
@0:26, oh man that lick. Made me go 'ooooo'
Your honestly amazing Daniel. You should be appointed pope in the near future!
Someday...someday...
Daniel one more question, I have a Strymon Zuma power pack, may i use it to power the G2? if so the 9v 500 mA or the 18V?
18v will damage the unit. The 500mA should work, it will be on the edge but should work ok 👍
question... how would be the best way to go about using a G2 with a vocal processor like the voicelive 3 that needs the guitar to go through it for calibrating the harmonies without loosing tone? your advice would really help me. thanks for being amazing!
If you put a HumDinger early in the audio chain of G2, send the isolated output to the vocal processor. This keeps the guitar signal clean and sends what you need to the vocal processor 👍

+Aphexexmachina not at this stage Aphex, but never say never
Would you do a the 1975 pedal board, I think it would be good as they use processed sounds hope you do thanks
Can the G2 process the stereo fx in parallel? Someone also said you can only re-order one loop on the G2, not multiple. Is that true?

Does this have the same features as the Boss ES8 or does it have additional features?

Genyus!
