Sbtv was Jamal’s channel and he passed away 2 years ago. Artists like Devlin and Ed are keeping his memory and legacy alive by still doing songs for the channel. Ed did an amazing tribute for him called F64 I recommend listening to
I think Ed started his career with rapping and hes a big hip hop fan. Yall should react to Eds tribute to Jamal who passed away and was his best friend and owner of that Sbtv channel
Nah he started off with his guitar but sofa surfing in London he met some of the OGs and took those flavours onto his no 5 collaborations EP. His first LP was 2005 and was pure singing and guitar. He did take influences from Devlin JME Jamal, SBTV etc but not until late 2000s after he had released a few EPs and done a few low key gigs
Ed was around the grime scene but blew up in the pop scene for peak Ed should check out "You need me, i don't need you" live acoustic with a loop pedal the dude is super talented and i'm not much of a fan tbh 😂
Ed left devs and grime once he saw a little fame. Check “the movement” they all (griminal, ghetts, devs, scorcher and wretch ect). Ed’s good, but he abandoned his early friends
He didn't abandon nobody. You talk to them folks? As an early fan who would actually get replies back and have conversation with Ed and had other SBtv folks I would talk to.. only folks claiming he abandoned them are the same shit talkers who go in on everyone who was in the grime scene.. some folks you can't help because they are too self centered to see the harm they do to those around them... bigger issues is the grime scene turned on itself, once the community was split up, the visibility went down. Too much of Grimes popularity was social media driven. You can't divide your base support and expect to break into the algorithm to advance viewership.

Ed has a daughter at least. He sings about her on Subtract, on songs like "Dusty" and "Sycamore", and a reference to her in "Vega"
