You are spoiling us today with some really great tunes (and reactions). Love Erasure and would love to see you react to more of their stuff, such as, 'Always', 'Sometimes', 'Drama' and 'Blue Savannah'
It was 1988 and I saw an ad in the paper for Erasure Wild live in concert tonight! I snuck out and took my parents car downtown for the first time. To be young and gay and to walk in to find thousands of other like minded people was amazing and liberating. The show was incredible Andy came out with back up dancers all clad in cheek less leather chaps with space helmets on while Glitter was spraying from the ceiling and everyone was dancing.
Thanks for doing this song love a bit of erasure! The 80"s when artists were allowed to be creative with they're music and vids and the women came in different sizes and wore clothes 😁
I was going to make the same comment. Vince wrote most of the songs and hits on the first DM album Speak & Spell - Just Can't Get Enough, New Life, Dreaming of Me, and Photographic...etc....
Erasure are just phenomenal. You Surround Me is my favourite but there’s so many to choose from. Vince Clarke, the man behind the keyboards, was one of the founder members of Depeche Mode and was the main songwriter for their first album in 1981. He formed Yazoo, and many people think Andy Bell, Erasure’s singer, has more than a passing resemblance to her, vocally.
This is a great song and great video. When my niece was younger, and started to act up, I'd often just smile and start singing this. Irritated her to no end. Occasionally I still hum it when I see her these days. She's still not a fan. I don't understand why. It's a fantastic tune. You should next check out "Sometimes" and, of course, the megahit "Oh l'Amour".
I’m so glad you liked this! I think because I was the artist’s age when this came out, I see this as about the aids crisis. It was so prominent then with no cure.
You are choosing some of my ALL TIME favourites today. Thank you!! If you got the chance please listen to the album Chorus, where this song was taken from. It’s perfect!! ☺️🏳️🌈
Greetings from Melbourne Australia.. loving all your reactions, you adore Ms Minogue you’ll also like Sophie Ellis-Bextor “crying at the discotheque” “murder on the dance floor”
me and my then girlfriend were in the crowd at the side of the waterlogged catwalk for this - we were all given different pastel-coloured t-shirts with the erasure "e" on the front. video by the guy who did the chorus one (with its nods to bowie's ashes to ashes which he also did)
The Chorus album, Chorus (obviously lol), Siren Song, Breath Of Life, Waiting For The Day, Turns The Love To Anger, Am I Right? and Perfect Stranger. Great album, would recommend. You're getting my sub just for the Erasure love lol.
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude ... Thanks sweetheart. Forgot I've already seen your reaction but super nice to watch it again. Now, please ---- GO WEST ---- Also by them. I can spend hours watching your fabulous reviews. THANK YOU ..!!
Some friends of mine were going to see dire straits in concert, and after a few drinks, accidentally got on the wrong bus. There was a reaction of ‘there’s a lot of teenage ladies going to see dire straits’ only to find they were going to an Erasure gig. They became fans from the mistake and saw them a few times live
Hey, did you know that this song is actually a musical hommage to "I will survive"? For it bears some similarities, I mean, speaking of the notes/melody :3
For a request/suggestion for Pride period especially but just in general is Dorian Electra. I’d go with Flamboyant first by them (genderfluid female, lots of good music, interesting vids, this one is an easy try-it-out).
What's it mean when your partner loves this song??? I still consider Chains of Love their most "iconic" song. I hope you find a b/f soon Bryson. (rather disjointed comments, I know)
So wierd, I hit like before I even watched your reaction, so when it was done I hitted like again and one shall not do that, I understand that now. But I was in 80's mode. Totally brainwashed. (I corrected myself, you've got a like from me) I'm tinsy bit drunk
“And God so blessed the world with synthesizers...”. ;)

You are not wrong to be obsessed with his voice. ❤️
