I cannot imagine a more beautiful job to have.
Hopefully in my next life..
Therrifiýing is not the book, terrifiýing ís that it became the truth and we live in 1984. Thank you for publishing it now.
But I already have your 2001 edition of "Nineteen Eighty-Four."
Looks pretty cool but I have a few issues:
1) A limited edition without any leather is somewhat of a letdown. The materials are basically a standard edition with a slightly bigger size book and a fancy box. I guess this depends on the final price but I hope it’s not over $500 all things considered.
2) The design looks awfully similar to Folio’s The Original of Totalitarianism , which comes with 2 books and is $220.
3) The Original extra patches look like a blatant copy of what Amaranthine Press just did with Catch 22. Same exact aesthetic.
Folio’s limited editions keep pulling more and more away from leather bindings. It was full leather then quarter now none. I really hope this book isn’t super expensive or it’s going to be a rip off, because I do like it but the deciding factor on the purchase is definitely going to be the price. I hope they don’t try and gouge knowings it’s a popular book.
$750 hahaha what a joke
Are all your books made like this? Seems like a lot of human hand work goes into it.
Awesome! And a strong signal to send offering this book in these times we live in.
What a beautiful volume! If only I could afford it, sigh! But with a teacher's salary... G. Orwell would have been proud of the craftsmen & women.
Another winner, a beautiful volume , love watching all the love and care the staff of Folio Society take in their wonderful craft
Sheesh 😮💨
Still not over buying the Shakespeare Folio and have almost saved up to order Beowulf, now this, which seems even more brilliant! Simply a work of fine art to present a literary artwork. Brilliance, indeed, Folio Society!
It's Beautiful and great work but the cost. But I would love It ❤ I'm 60 this year so it's Tempting as I yet to read it but will next year
When does it come out please. Thank you
A week later.
Hi! Our limited edition of Nineteen Eighty-Four will be available on 24 June.
I purchased this as a birthday gift to myself, and I'm so glad I did. It's an extraordinary book, turned into an incredible Limited Edition. The design and execution are excellent. The clamshell case opens to reveal the book itself with an ominous warning beneath. The novel itself is beautifully produced with amazing LaBoca illustrations and design flourishes. By lifting out the panel beneath the book you'll find a giclée print along with special "propaganda" elements. The Folio Society have raised the bar with this Limited Edition.
I do not like the fact that the cover is paper, and not smthg else. Is it good quality? Does it not crease?
@@alexandruciocirlau2428 Hi Alex. The quality is incredible. No, it's not leather, but I think using leather would not have worked from a stylistic standpoint. In the world of 1984, even the copy of Goldsteins Book isn't bound in leather. The binding is a very thick buckram featuring a hypnotic metallic cover illustration. Overall 6 different paper types are used. Don't dismiss the lack of leather binding. This is a brilliant production and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
@russp06 im not complaining about the lack of leather. That wasn't what i was trying to say. I saw this review of the book on the folio site itself, with a person complaining about how the cover is paper and that it has already creased for them. I was considering getting the book at first, but acter having heard that... I don't know.
Hi Alex. I read that review and although I respect their opinion, calling the cover of the book paper is totally unfair. The buckram used is 1/2” think from my reckoning and it certainly hasn’t creased in my reading the book. There is a French groove down the left edge. I guess my only advice is to get it while you can and if you’re not happy Folio have a guarantee to fall back on. I’ve only had one issue in the past and it was corrected within a few days.
Just ordered my copy £500 open wallet surgery, but I do love folio books.
Any word on a price point??
$750 in the USA.

No leather at that price? Unreal, pass
So cool!
