im a freelance graphics designer for 2 years and ive had a short reflection of what ive been through. just like you at the beginning of your career i've overworked myself and resulting in burnout and taking a long hiatus then quit at my first year of designing. like you said, the key to longevity is to get 1% at a time, it doesnt matter if you do it consistently or not, all that matters is to improve by 1% and still utilize and maintain your energy on other priorities (studies, family, relationship etc)
