Let us not forget all the CIS and Trade Federation characters we did not get for almost a decade now: No Count Dooku. No Asajj Ventress. No Nute Gunray. No Magna Guards. No Poggle or Geonosians in general. Let alone characters we never got before like the mentioned Wat Tambor or Admiral Trench.
Even Lego Star Wars 3 did War tambor! Why can't Lego pay attention to the characters TT games have had to create minifigures for because it doesn't Exist. TT games should be in charge of Lego! Look how many characters they have made in their Star Wars games that lego hasn't
Honestly yes this video could have been a whole discussion on the separatist, CIS and trade federation because it is all not up to standard. The fact that we haven't seen asajj and dooku alone in so many years is criminal. There are so many sets Lego could make and keep them busy for years - just 1 or 2 sets each year based on this would be perfect right now
The Seperatists have not received proper attention by Lego for nearly a decade. There are more clone sets released even though the droids outnumber the clones 100 to 1.
I always wonder if it's actually Legos fault. I think Disney also has a say in what Sets Lego produces and Disney has ignored the prequels for years and only focused on their own movies until they brought back Clone Wars because the fans were so angry with them. I still feel like Disney try to distance themselves from the prequel trilogy
@L.Becker honestly that's a good observation. I have no idea how much input disney has in the set topics, I always assumed Lego has the say and then disney just reviews the final set before release. But I could be wrong 🤷♂️
Yesss I did unfortunately 😭 A few hours after releasing the video I remembered the magna guards and I was so bummed that I didn't talk about them here Because they are really good minifigures as well that would be really awesome to see in some set with general grievous in modern years
the bigger problem is that so many good guy sets are being released being clones and jedi we dont really have anything for them to fight against wouldent it be cool to have a tridroid figher going with the arc fighter or even a atat releasing something like a mtt or even a spider tank
That's honestly why the Clones and Droids battle pack is so good. The seps have a whole tri droid on their side, making them stronger. It solves the imbalance of having so many clones. Lego needs to do more of that, because honestly even if we get more droid sets than Clones, a single Jedi from another set would already even the odds.
@@imperial5477 yeah same, but the amount I need would be too much atm. I am building a Company sized unit of the CIS forces for display and various Vehicles plus Crew and troops. I basically looked at the Battalion sized and try to make it accurate for the company level. Battalion or Regiment size would be too big^^
We need a good battlepack with something like one B2 Super Battle Droid and three or more basic B1 Battle Droid BUT with updated stronger joints, similar to those on the Commando Battle Droid (dark brown, small head). Not a complete redesign, just the joints, so it still fit with existing armies.
Thanks man! Yess the standard battle droids are good, I'm not too bothered with the pieces being used and I'm not that much of an advocate for a whole remodel, but we just need more. A battle pack would be so good today with easily a bunch of battle droids and either a commander or a tactical Droid of sorts
I like them a little better with the stuff on their backs like in Lego Star Wars the complete saga, and I wish the clips didn't break so easily, but I don't see any reason to change them. Change for the sake of change isn't objectively better, and when collecting Stormtroopers or Clones, the helmets sometimes won't match as they've done different styles over the years, but we don't have that problem with battle droids. I like the consistency. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but they do need to do something about the fragile clips. I've got one broken neck clip, a few broken arms, and a broken legs lying around, enough for a full broken battle droid. As they use the arms for various things outside of droids then the added durability would be appreciated all around.
The thing is, if they remade the design, you’d either have mismatched army’s or really small ones because it’d still take a while to get them all. All they can do is just keep it
For me I’d love to see the Supes get an upgrade. This time getting rid of those awful socket joints. I hate that the joints are literally clipped permanently into place and can’t be removed for display purposes or stop motion. I’m afraid to even attempt to snap the arms and legs off both my old and new B2 droids. 😮
Honestly they aren't super expensive on the aftermarket or to even get second hand, it might be really interesting to attempt to remove it. Or even use sand paper to gradually rub it away
I wish they started using skeleton torsos for droids, maybe with the rib cage filled in and a stud attached to it. Not only the legs are separate on those but all of the four bar-pins have caps on them which prevent shoulder and hip clips from sliding off
the lack of separatist droid vehicles and tanks and stuff are why i don’t collect clone wars stuff. i stick to OT because the lego designers very obviously don’t like the prequels
I just really want a full size Vulture droid. UCS, I can dream, but I'll settle for as low as those semi-technic display models like the recent Droideka.
If I could change one and only one thing about battle droids, it would 100% be to make their feet fully cover the stud. As they are right now, they only go halfway, and it just makes them incredibly unstable on baseplates and makes them boring to play with and difficult to pose.
If they change the droids now, they will not fit in existing armies. They will be more expensive, which is against the entire idea of the droids. I am against upgrading. I got 108 droids now. If they start changing things the old ones will get more expensive and I am not changing my army. They need to make more sets and buildable droids. There are many options which they neglect.
I agree. How the Droids currently look and feel isn't the best it could be, but it's simple and iconic and a minor issue that isn't a real problem. We just need more of them and easier access
Also Great points althoughI think the biggest problem ios how few sets they are in and how few of them they are in those sets making in Bricklink or nothing if you want a screen acrate army or much less a lore scurqte one. Which being the cheapest Minifig by a long shot for Lego to make. As they have no prints and Lego has been making them nonstop for 3 dacdes... I'm shocked they treat them worse then characters as unlike them lego wouldn't miss the unbulibly tiny cost of having ten normal B1s per 1 Clone trooper and it would sell so many sets and make fans so very happy...
I think the best and only likely change tehy could make to battledroids is a new torso and sperated legs, it would be a relatively low cost change which would massively improved playbility without needing a full redsign.
I really want a Vulture Droid, I got all Empire based Tie’s, a couple of rebel and first order starfighter, not many clone or Jedi fighter but Droid? none and I love their design, but their old models are just to expensive or hard to get.
It's actually crazy, looking back a decade ago we got vulture droids, tri fighters and a couple other vehicles appear quite regularly, but after the 2014 vulture Droid we never got it again. It's such an easy set to remake and pretty certain that it will be a very good seller in the comunity
The CIS is my favorite faction All I want is a CIS MTT, and the good version, not these chibi playsets I loved lego growing up because they were like a models, playable models, but now? They are chibi, focused heavily on gimicks like the stud shooters etc, and are overly priced for what we are given Lego Star Wars needs to do a 180 or take a look at what their fans are capable of building on these MOC sites and strive to reach that potential of build capability/quality Fortunately this release looks promising with the ARC-170 (it looks promising but I still need to see if it's an improvement or not) and other sets

I think we should get a new MTT set loosely based on the battle of dathomir that introduces new battle droids, a commander, 2 pilots and a new updated General grievous it'd be a good cis army builder as well as a good way to get a new grievous and multiple battle droid types

Just to get prices up für a slightly better disign? Just because their design is 25 year old dosnt it mean that its outdated ... No, its just perfect.

What is so laughable is that PT Clone Batallions and crappy BDs and CIS still ignored but OT Stormtroopers get reasonless new helmets
Just wanted to mention that you forgot Grievous' Magnaguards. They are also fairly unique with a custom chest, a head piece and unjque cape.

You can always recreate order 66.
If their arm clips weren't so bad i'd collect them as much as clones. I hate how flimsy LEGO clips are
Honestly I didn't even think about that 😭
thats why I buy ko since I start collecting again. I dont spend so much money on figs that break easily

I want to have security droids and a commander droid ! I really want to remake the scene in the beginning of the Phantom Menace.
Ahh that would be soo cool! It's actually wild that these droids aren't easily obtainable in new sets 😭
