The fashion was beautiful but didn't feel authentically 1970s to me. More like modern takes on the 70s you could purchase at Urban Outfitters or Free People. Daisy's final concert outfit is definitely my favorite and it's wonderful to learn it was vintage!
I also felt like some of the pieces in the earlier episodes were almost too nice for people who are up and coming and didn't have much money. Clothing was MUCH more expensive before the rise of fast fashion. It all felt a little too formal and done-up.
I love Raisa's breakdown of historical fashions as portrayed in modern movies! She is knowledgeable and entertaining and I'll watch her whenever she is featured!
actually, daisy barely wears anything in the book. actually, her and the other members for the aurora album photoshoot in the book didn't even wear extravagant clothes, despite the event they're shooting for because they wanted it to be realistic and simple. so billy wearing his typical denim look for the photoshoot is not out of the blue.
The late 70s was actually the birth of Athleisure looks! the 80s Spandex leotards and leg warmers actually debuted in the late 70s! Fun Fact! Health and Fitness were a huge craze in the late 1970! Punk Rock debuted in the mid 70s as a reaction against mainstream fashion! Fetish wear was worn by them, like corsets!
Yea I remember the 70’s revival in the 90’s and 2000’s. It’s crazy that the 2020’s is seeing a revival of the 90’s which was already a revival of the 70’s which was a revival of the 30’s.
Musicians were NOT the fashion trendsetters at all in the 1970’s. Because we never saw musicians. There was no mtv or music videos. The only fashion we saw was on tv (like Cher’s or Donnie and Marie show) or in magazines or in movies. We didn’t visually see Stevie Nick’s style until the early 1980’s, with the advent of MTV
Musicians still played on live television sets. You also had concert images printed in magazines. Yes there was no MTV but there was still access to some visual reference.
the author herself said it was inspired by Fleetwood's silver springs performance. The inspo isn't about Stevie nicks specifically, and more about the band in general

Free People has a Daisy Jones line

They are wearing Free People in the series 🤣
@@mike-m123 not entirely. Some of the pieces are vintage, according to Denise Wingate.
@@mike-m123 they are wearing a lot of vintage clothes, actually
I love when you use a picture of Florence and the machine. Her music gives a Fleetwood Mac feeling
Not just her music, her fashion choices give a Stevie nicks vibe too.

Next time perhaps explore Atonement, Death on The Nile, or Murder on The Orient Express? We haven't covered the 1930s!

I really hope they do a season two of that series. I loved it.
The story feels finished though.
I love Daisy's style but Camilla was jaw dropping in every outfit!
I love that this show is influencing summer style this year ❤
Me too. I love 70s fashion.
The lady a 13.51 reminds me a little of Fran Drescher. As a teenager in the 90's we loved us some 70's era pieces.

it’s like 70’s inspired clothing
Excellent, Raissa. Well done.
Yeah I clocked the Chaka Khan homage the second I saw Simone in that outfit ✊🏾
Peace, love & groove style of fashion.
I really love the looks and sometimes copy them!
Always love these videos so so much!
Elvis' granddaughter is stunning! I am curious to see what she does next
Yay she’s baaaaack
But somehow, it's recreated, but it jas gone awry. It's not replicated so that it appears authentically 70's.
Great video & fashion analysis!!!

Musicians were in magazines all the time tho. Not to mention album covers and posters.
How can you say that when David Bowie existed in the 70’s
Eu não entendi nada do que ela falou mas amei ver as imagens passando
idk the fashion seems very Dangerfield or Princess Highway or Modcloth like it looks like modern clothing that's just 70s inspired
Can you do Cinderella
I didn’t get the eye makeup of Karen. There really wasn’t cat eyeliner during that period
What is she wearing ....oh no
You're wrong I was a teenager in the 70s even we went braless in high school.Hip huggers were huge!
The series is not based on Fleetwood Mac.
Fans thought that to be true.
But if you research Steve Nicks has a different story to stardom.
