Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. I've been there! Came all the way from USA to watch Spurs in 2018... Had a free night, so I took the train out to see another game. Ate a pie, drank a couple, watched Hornchurch v Lewes, and some kids asked me for a cigarette. Felt like the authentic experience.
Cheers, we do try to create a decent atmosphere home and away. Hashtag fans that came were quite loud too. Having a 1000+ crowd for a home league game is great for us and I expect we will take a 100+ crowd away to Hashtag on New Year's Day including myself. We should be in title contention this season again and hopefully go 1 step further. From what I saw I think Hashtag will be challenging for the back end of the play offs, they looked a well setup team with good quality.
Alexis Andre jr is by far the best player on this team. Everyone else looked lost out there.
Trust me this is the worst I've seen them seen play this entire season.
But they are better than what they were that game
PK had a very industrious performance as well but Alexis is clearly a fantastic player

Players need to link arms, easiest way to ensure your wall doesn't get any holes in it. Was taught that at 10 years old and these blokes couldn't do it ffs

Clear pen but I don’t think it was handball I think it hit his thigh I might be wrong. Also need to remember not everything goes your way in football even though because it’s a UA-cam based club doesn’t mean it’s always going to be a fairytale story. This is real life football in the end these things happen some will be against us some will be for us. Think the performance had a bigger impact on the result than the decisions.

True if we scored the pen it is totally but I don’t think we should be talking about the ref because if you’ve played football you know how hard it is and I’m not expecting every decision to be the correct one but ultimately I don’t think that overshadows the performance that’s all I’m saying bud👍🏻
@@Lbeee03the difference is we aren’t officiating games therefore we have no obligation to get decisions correct. If an official gets a decision wrong they deserve the stick that comes their way.

I saw little energy from all of midfield apart from PK.
Hashtag looked like a jaded team. I guess it has a lot to do with playing twice in 48 hours.
Maybe you guys can get a new midfield dynamo to help speed things up.
Also, this category already shows why goals are paid so handsomely in bigger leagues. Not easy to score with such quality of keepers and defenders in this level.
But whatever may come, We remain Hashtag faithful through good and bad! Up the TAGS!!!

An absolute collapse from Hashtag, admittedly baffled how the ref or linesman didn't see that handball for the first goal, but they were leaps and bounds better than us. Sak being injured is not a good sign for us. I know it was only a 48 hour turnaround, but we need to be better in the next game, lets hope we can also get some luck. Up the Tags! #💛💙

Hornchurch’s defense was stellar and just kept us from having enough clear cut chances. The 3-0 stat line makes the performance look was worse than it was but we had some great opportunities against a team that’s definitely going to challenge for the league. Respectable performance from the squad, we just need to get the results against the lower teams in the league
Just a shite second half, conceded sloppy goals and didn't create any good chances really.
Tbf Hornchurch have a lot of quality for this level. Having Sean Scannell up top without it even being a big deal is mad, he's still only 32.

This is more about how good Hornchurch is than how poor Hashtag were. Hornchurch have some amazing talent and connections. For those who know league 1 and 2 football. 4 of those players have played at that level only 2-3 years ago.
Crazy Sean Scannell is at this level, remember him at Palace a few years back!

Alexis is super quality. Feel extremely bad for those 3 goals as it extreme pain for a GK but he's top quality. You see it in his positioning, his steady hands and his movement before a save. Lovely to see it
Teniola is clear of Zuhou who was poor today. Too many missed opportunities. Also first one was a clear handball Lino should’ve seen than and clear foul on misha
Not that I dislike Teniola, but look at the chances he has missed. Zullu his workrate and holdup play seem better to me right now. The one who finds form first will be the starter.

@@jaswantrahmee8105Teniola gets in the key positions to receive chances and he offers a LOT to the buildup play. He’s still very clinical and offers a ton of goals. Zulu has offered absolutely nothing. He’s weak gets bullied off the ball doesn’t get onto chances and isn’t clinical. Teniola is clear.

Looked like men vs boys today. Shame the lads weren’t at it but lots of people underestimate how hard the step up is and this just shows that we’re levels behind the top teams and that’s understandable. If anyone thinks we can just keep winning and getting promoted then you need to get real, because it’s unfair the pressure that the lads and everyone at hashtag will get but I guess you get pros and cons from a UA-cam based club and audience. We will grow from this and people need to remember this is the first time for some lads at this level it’s a big step up. But well done we go again up the tags!
Zuhou is poor in my opinion, teniola has created so many more chances even tho he isn’t scoring it’ll come
He was good pre season poor today, Alex is decent but his height and strength are key to his game. They had that covered for this game so it made sense to opt for Zuhou just didnt work out.
Just a difference in quality there, you can tell why they made the playoff final last season such an organised side. Some real fantastic players in their side, punished the mistakes.
Tags were poor today, kept up with them for a fair wack of the game but just lost it towards the end. 2nd and 3rd goals are really poor, but the score line reflects the performance. The attacking this season has been mixed at best but today it was real poor, Sully looked almost lost going forward but we know what he can do.
End of the day it happens, can't win em all. Just need to get the attitude right and go again next week. Up the tags!

Its easy to tell this is a step up in every sense. At the moment though is the lack of quality up front we had all last season
Started quiet well but ultimately started to look quiet laboured later on. 3-0 down as well and we still looked to defensive, you would have thought we was defending a 1-0 lead but either way we can use today as a learning opportunity

Man... This is what happens when you don't use your chances. Have to say their first goal never should have been a goal (handball missed) but man the second and third goal were so avoidable. Need to learn from this and be better in the future games. Cmon Tags!

Great defending from both sides but I think the tags would benefit from having 2 at the top. Sule looked so lonely a lot of the time he needs the support.
Good effort considering the 48 hr turn around. The clear pen on the drag down in the box and the handball for the first goal were just the two most obvious errors the ref made, unfortunately they turned into huge moments that changed the course of the match.

The good news is that it was so close for the majority of the match. This bodes well for a mid table finish. ###
That team physically were massive which I think is an obstacle for us. I don't think we're good enough going forward and is why I mentioned cutting Higgsy was a weird decision. We don't have that spark. If we had Jermaine and Pedro I think we would be really tough to beat.
Gonna have these games at this level boys. Only performance this year where you were clearly outclassed but also had a couple of refereeing decisions that could’ve gone the other way. Keep playing with physicality and defending well and you lads are good enough to finish in the top half of this league, which would be bloody impressive. Can’t expect promotion every year lads.

Mostly in previous matches i noticed that sak has really good dribbles but he needs to be more composed in his finishing. If he can add that to his game he'd be an even beter player.
Zak needs to start lacing some of these shots so good on the ball but just don’t seem to have the conviction in his shooting
It's a big shame almost no one that made the magic happen except Toby stayed from last year.. You feel that in the quality of chances we get. We have chances, but they are half as good as last year. We terrorized the box last year. Now we're lucky if we get close and don't feel confident enough with the players that are here to make that extra dribble/pass for that better chance. Everything feel forced. I 100% trust the process though. Up the tags!

Very very tough opposition. The attackers were absolutely woeful and were struggling to create chances. Misha falls over for any bit of contact. Alexis Andre had every right to be upset with the wall that was shocking.
3-0 score line is a very unfair reflection of the game. Had a few decent opportunities but just lacked that final touch. Definitely should have been a pen in the first half for that pull and their first goal certainly looked like a handball. Think the lads need to be a bit louder and shout for stuff like that, no appeals for the pen other than the man who was dragged down and no appeals for handball from any of the defenders. Second goal was absolutely avoidable, very poor from the lads in the wall and happened multiple times so hopefully something which can be fixed for the future. Deserved more from this match really but we need to step up and find that quality in the final third if we want to be a strong team at this level.

To see josh osude playing for Baiteze hurts man… could picture him Toby and sak as a dangerousss front 3 with PK in the 10… lack of pace and creativity in the final 3rd definitely.. up the tags!

Looked like men against boys, they were bigger, stronger and faster throughout.
Hornchurch no doubt are a good team at this level this year but Hashtag are there own worst enemies at times need a proper striker keep saying it.

The teams defensive were set up right couldn't break them for love or your money, all tall and strong guys they would all tackle their gran if told to. Hashtag should 100% have had a penalty in the first half and going into the half time 1-0 is massive against a team like this.
At some point we were going to be on the end of a drubbing. Sometimes you need this to kick on. I don't think a lot should be read into this result. Hornchurch look like one of the top sides in the league
1st goal clear hand their striker swings his arm towards the ball. 2nd one the wall dose not do it’s job well. We have done well to stay unbeaten for so long, and realistically, away to a team who were sooo close to national league south, away from home, is one that we probably were favorites to lose. Need to pick our selves for FA cup and hopefully a good attempt at going far this season.

Poor from Hashtag today, definitely going to be a challenge this season but I've no doubts that we have the quality to fight for promotion. Seems like the boys just need some confidence. Zudhu seems like a good player but definitely remains second choice of Teniola for me, he had to try and dink the keeper on that chance. ANd I don't like to say it but not rating Wyan Reid too much, gives it his all but think he lacks a bit, hope they both prove me wrong. Quality team to be fair but the opportunity was there to get the win but 2nd half was terrible. Need to bounce back from this one and let it fuel our hunger UPTHETAGS
Didn’t know Sean Scannell was at Hornchurch. Ex Bradford City and that other team from West Yorkshire in blue & white. I really rated him until we signed him and he was a bit of a disappointment. Still 32 and at this level, really should still be playing higher up 🤷♂️
Looks like this season is going to be very tough. A lot of good teams in this league. I’m pretty sure Hashtag didn’t make the best of starts last season before things clicked, so it might be a case of the same again. Just looks like one of those divisions where it’s hard to gauge whether your going to be fighting for promotion or against relegation so every point really does matter.
As for PK. Since the back end of last season he has come so far. I was always finding he just needed that vision adding to his game, the decision making. And nobody is perfect but it has drastically improved to a point where it seems he’s put a lot of effort into that side of his game. And I’m the main, it’s paying off.
I've really enjoyed hearing more from Joe and Devs but hearing someone tell the strikers "just be more clinical" or "just score more" is like saying "just earn more money" there has to be more to it tactically than that which we're missing
i doubt they want their tactics on full view for al the other teams in the divisio to see to be fair

The game is completely different if hashtag get awarded the penalty just before HT but overall you have to say Hornchurch deserved it.

why is it that hashtags defenders play good when they move up the field and terrible or " under average for you softys out there " at the back defending? and yea it was a pen for hash and maybe a hand ball when they scored, but i did not see one guy complain that it was a hand ball
