@@Obsessioncardetailing thanks for watching! I use to foam it with a ik foamer. Didn't seem much different than spray bottle and then pf 22. I just used way more brake buster lol. Both ways totally work and foaming is more fun lol
Another great detail Evan. We also use P&S Brake Buster and pre-spray and then foam with Brake Buster vs. car wash soap to add more cleaning power and lubricity. Have you tried that before?
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of MAD Car care Products tio holder invention but it would pair well with your mtm sg28. Especially the way you foam the wheels and constantly switching between foam cannon and regular nozzle. 🇺🇸 veteran owned and great customer service. Beautiful Porsche btw.

Once per month is honestly kinda golden. wont be getting them often but you dont have to rush anything and they are rare enough that we can MAKE TIME to watch it to the end.

Headlights don't need to be removed. The way I currently do them I tuck the film under and behind with them installed. Would be great to have the vents removed but also not super necessary. That's about a $30,000 hood if you make a mistake by the way. Worth the risk? Lol
@@BalrogSlayer666 possible but I really don't have issues with dust. In general any room will have some stuff floating around. My area is pretty clean. Most panels go on with zero issues. It's often on your pants or shirt and comes off and into the area your working.
Id this is reference to headlights? If the headlights delaminate I think you can sand them and clear coat then. I have heard of people swapping out the lense too

I'm not sure what the purpose of the "shorts" are but just about every channel out there has "shorts" videos. Is that something UA-cam requires you to do to stay active? I was just curious as over the past year or two, the "Shorts" videos have exploded all over UA-cam. Nice job on this one of kind supercar! I love the color combination. I saw one of these in Long Beach California at a restaurant (different color combination) and I just stood there in aww pretty much because the car was just so stunningly beautiful in person. It's just hard to justify the price of a house for an automobile but if I could afford it, I would certainly get one also. It's one of my all time dream cars behind the Toyota Supra which at the moment is on the top for me of actual attainable sports cars. 😁🚙

I started posting shorts more recently and it's definitely not with the intention of replacing my normal content it's just a bonus of extra content. Shorts are simply easy and fast to make. When you stack it all up it can pull in a decent amount of views and subscribers. In the past month or so I think we got around 150 subs or more from just posting shorts. So ultimately helps the channel grow and it's just one more way to do so. Especially when you emphasize the fast and easy nature of making the video. These longer videos are definitely the main attraction but they also take a long time to film and edit and generally speaking just plan. But you guys tune in for this and not shorts lol.

@@archiepezek thanks! I typically use that during first wash to make things easy to dry and easy to dry after the second wash too. Then I ceramic the wheels later. I wipe a lot of prep on before coating and recommend WetCoat or hydro during customer washes especially when doing so much track time. The wheels on this car got ceramic coated twice actually.
@@1.thomasalmeida marolex is what I like for ppf. Adjustable spray and sprays upside down. I think the ik has a 360 version now. More importantly I currently use a detail key for PPF and it's way better! I need to add marolex stuff to my website for sure. I still use it for my tack solution

Ya if more installers had your talent then going to a shop would not be that bad but like you I have OCD when it comes to the details and well plotter would not work for me and I have seen only a few installs that well lets just say must have been done on a Friday or maybe a drunken monkey 🤪🤣 just kidding but i am sure you have seen enough terrible looking installs to know what I am refering to lol......have you ever thought of offering a training course? You would be AMAZING at it

So I heard back and the training may not be happening. They believe that it would be wasteful to learn unless you do it all the time immediately after so if thats the case would have to save up ALOT of money so i could quit my current job and get a business set up before learning or seeing if its something i would like. It could make sense but I have learned every other aspect of detailing on my own so maybe this is the next thing to figure out on my own lol oh and I told him that you do a PHENOMENAL job and that you encouraged me as well as inspire me to learn based on your extreme level of work and he said he knows you! @@grand04gt that's pretty neat. I'm not sure that name rings I a bell but he must watch my videos!? It would be ideal to get trained and then put the skills to work routinely. You could still begin to learn by watching a lot of videos and doing small stuff. Then when you want to go full time or good amount of part time then do the class. Autofilmmastery I think it's called has paid classes online. I have never done that but it appears they have a massive library of how to install on different kinds of cars. And I would think give you a lot of knowledge. I don't think it's terribly expensive and is a monthly subscription. I've considered doing it in the past just to see how to do a lot of different cars that I've never worked on before because I think they have full classes on a large library of cars
Good job. Many would suggest foaming it, let it dwell THEN rinse the car for the first time. Foam again and contact watch w/o rinsing. Lessens the chance of high pressure water pushing dirt and grime into the paint. Of course, you’re the one entrusted with a $.5M car, not me.
@@MattDapson this is a great system especially on cars that are properly dirty. This has dirt that really primarily rinsed away. If it was properly filthy then your way is best. Agreed 🤝

great channel. 15 yrs ago i worked as a designer at a graphics company, i have been out of it, but i recall full wraps were usually done dry, does all PPF do wet application? dry usually sticks better when stretched and formed
@@nazmo_za9654 yea basically all wet for PPF. Some vinyl is wet too. But most vinyl is dry now. I think a company or two offers dry install PPF but it's rare. Vinyl and PPF adhesive are very very different
You mentioned in the video you can buy something similar to the "interior delivery wrap". Do you have any recommendations for this? I dislike taking my car to the dealer as the interior is always dirty when I get the car back.

@@connorluka7149 ceramic works on plastic. But not PPF. I use Costco towels mostly for ceramic. One time use. They are good towels but need to be mindful of the edges. I use nicer towels on completed cars during maintenance etc
I’ve never witnessed someone use Brake Buster on the body of the car in this manner which was interesting. I know that it can be done, but I’ve only ever used and watched it be used on wheels. Interesting!
Oh, got it. If you go back to 2:50 you say “first I used brake buster which is the purple stuff you see being sprayed on, then I’m gunna put my foam on top of that, this is the exact same foam and foam cannon I’m going to be using for the paint.” No worries. Hope you see where I got confused.
@@nsdoolabh not necessary if you know what your doing and have a process and techniques to avoid issues. Masking tape in general causes its own problems. I should make a vid on that lol

What is your experience/thoughts on a pre-rinse causing scratches by blasting dirt and grime into paint, vs a pre foam on dry paint, then doing pre rinse after foam dwells a few minutes. Is there any truth to the water only pre rinse precaution in your experience?
@@BrucePerformance rinse dirt off with water will not swirl or scratch unless your blowing like full proper gravel or rocks. Or ice or something. Pre foam can help on filthy cars. Not washed in months and covered in it. Still should not hurt car to rinse. But the pre foam will loosen more for rinse. For normal wash I mix citrus foam and g wash. Both gtechniq. I rinse. Foam. Contact multiple microfibers. I wash frequently and this helps it go faster but still safe. If it's hammered I'll do citrus foam first. Then g wash.
@@BrucePerformance oh the internet lol. Probably people trying to sell pre foams. Scratches swirls etc happen from dirt plus friction from a towel. Not water blowing dirt or dust off. At it's core water is the best lubrication during a wash. Soap obviously helps but it's the water and soap that makes lubrication for your towels. Soap just makes it more slippery and cleaning power. But blowing dirt off with water should never cause problems. The argument for pre foam is that it emulsifies the dirt and breaks it down making your rinse more effective. That's why it's more important or helpful on really dirty cars. Hope that clears up the internet nonsense lol
@@pugh4real you never ppf Porsche headlights. They have a hydrophobic too coat that's like clear coat. When you pull the ppf your definitely going to pull that off and completely ruin the lens. All glass and trim and wheels etc are ceramic coated. STEK should release windshield protection film again soon I hope. It's been off market awhile now

Agreed with the wheels first. But why not foam the car first let it soak a bit then rinse and foam it again ? Rinsing it with all the residue on and throwing that pressure will cause micro swirls

Basically guaranteed delamination. Porsche puts basically a clear coat on the lens. It's hydrophobic and probably UV resistance. The PPF will rip it off in patches and basically totally ruin it. Then you need to sand and re clear it basically. Most headlights don't have that. But we tend to no not PPF lights in general because it's a bit of a mystery what's in other headlights if anything. I do mostly Porsche.
I love the attention to detail and workmanship, but I really want to see cars like this driven and enjoyed and showing a bit of life. PPF for me is added weight and a waste of money and so hard to get off 3 years later
@@STATUSDETAIL Sorry, I skipped through but didnt see that, I'm just not a fan of PPF, but it's very expensive to fit, has weight and if he is using it great, I'm very pleased, but dont over it in plastic. I'm not being puritanical but prefer a car to look well looked after not covered in plastic. I still shudder when I see people with worn our plastic protection covers on front panels of things, maybe it's a childhood thing 😄
@@adrianadrianp5305 I think if you saw this car and a car isn't coffee you wouldn't realize I had PPF on it especially if it was like four or five years old. If it gets really beat up from track you some sure he'll send it back to redo it again. Modern PPF is pretty awesome stuff
@@georgivladov8064 gtechniq L1 leather guard. Not as strong as smart fabric but that does alter look and feel a little. It's really strong smelling too
In Europe the RS is back to MSRP. It won’t take long for the 3RS to hit back to MSRP here also. $500,000 USD for a 500 hp car is just stupid, and I’m a GT3 owner

@@STATUSDETAIL exactly. Porsche had a niche that made guys like us buy GT3s and GT3RSs but now they’ve gone into McLaren and Ferrari territory. Their cars were significantly under a Ferrari or Lamborghini. And now even the 718 Spyder is $225.000!! A Boxster RS a quarter million. It’s a 3.6 0-60 car. That’s like Lexus territory. They list their minds and they lost a loyal customer. They took me a dyed in the wool 911 guy into owning a new Z06 while looking at Ferrari or McLaren. I had a 991.2 GT3 and they wanted me after 8 other Porsches to pay $75,000 over MSRP. I just don’t think the regular GT3 is a $300,000 car or the RS a $500,000 car. It’s got 500 horsepower. There are other cars with way more horsepower for the same or less. Hopefully I still have my 918 invitation letter. I bought a loaded 997.1 GT3 with PCCBs for $120,000!
How come you are not using a plotter and xpel ppf and templates for perfect precut ppf for each panel? Have been using it here in Europe for few years now and its by far a lot easier and less time consuming to do and fits perfect every time.

I am just suprised that someone would not make their work easier and I went and looked up your story on 296 thats how it comes from a dealer thats their problem for having bad instaler and bad plotter files for it. My friend has a company which specializes in ppf install on supercars they have done ppf on aventador sv, and multiple porsche gt3 and rs and other models and brands and they use xpel. They tried other protection films and xpel works the best. And their plotter files fit perfect and I mean perfect all the corners tucked and everything. Not like the 296 you showed in your instagram story. I dont wanna hate on you or anything just saying what I know.
@@STATUSDETAIL As you wish, I only know that if it was better to do it like you then everyone would do it your way but here in europe everyone is using plotters even the company such as Topaz in UK which is a leading company in this sorts of stuff
@@markocimrmancic4308 I'm spoken about this a lot. Or does every do it the way that is fast and most profitable. Nearly all big shops including topaz have large staff. You can teach plotting fast it takes years to bulk like a pro. Big shops havevhifh turnover so they need to bulk to teach someone rapidly. Sounds like you don't work in the industry and are going off what someone told you? I've been in the industry nearly ten years. Been offering PPF for about 4-5 of those years. I've never seen a plotter job I liked. It's why we started installing bulk STEK. I have a specific video on this. Xpel is .... We use STEK for a reason....
what an outstanding job. you've given me some great advice before since I'm a 2nd party trying to fix some problems on my brothers 993 turbo. he had it ppf'd but in the early days of films. I know the problems I had with his newer car a cemet color 4runner pro. the edges of his ppf weren't lifting but somehow where letting dirt under all the edges. upon removal the shop told him that he was responsible for removing what I thought was overly excessive adhesive left behind. they offered to do it but for 1000+ dollars. there has been an ongoing issue between shop brother and film maker. I removed it but had to use solvent based adhesive removers as they were the only products I could get to remove it(it was only the front clip) what I'm worried about is what might happen with the non-clearcoated guards red paint on the 993. I use heat gun but will it be more apt to get damaged than clear coated paint I would imagine. I know your business isn't about giving free advice but if you support or know the best and safest product I should use I'd be grateful for your help/ you went above and beyond before and I certainly don't want to take your time up. I appreciate your obvious ultra high skill level and knowledge. I cant imagine doing this 992 with all the layers of panels to cover and hide seams. outstanding job you did!! again thank you so much for any recommendations you could provide. cheers
@@gregoryfranks7347 heat guns work great but steam is often better for removal. Gyeon tar is the best adhesive remover I have found. Let is sit and soak a min in shade then pressure wash the adhesive off. Might need to do it more than once. Wash the car really well with soap after that!

As a previous detailer I figured it would possibly take a few applications to remove it all. I trust your advice as if it were FDIC insured. Your work speaks for itself. Sadly his cars were done with early ppf products so they are definitely antiquated as compared to what is available now. @@95VR407FA5 lol I don't wear them anymore. Weirdly I was pumping gas one day in rain and didn't realize I was standing in a lot of gas. It like soaked into the rubber and smelled like gas forever. Had to throw them out!!! But I remember them being relatively comfortable. I wear sorel boots mostly now because they are waterproof and great for washing and ppf. I also wear some Nike shoes that are more comfortable than the metcon. But I really liked those!
@@STATUSDETAILSorry but that's exactly how it works. It's foaming first to start breaking down the dirt on the surfaces then rinse then foam again if you intend to prevent scratches. Found this out myself on DIY Detail from Yvan LaCroix who has 30+ years in detailing. He goes around the country teaching detailing and has owned his own shop. But in the end you do it how you want but you may want to rethink your process. Your results are amazing and what an incredible car!
Yeah, I watch A LOT of you tube detailers and you definitely hold your own. These people have much deeper pockets and have a ton more backing, but I think if you were around them, they would shut up and listen when you spoke. Very impressive work, there is admiration on how autistic you are for the craft, and looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for watching and seeing the love that goes into this. Definitely lots of talented detailers in the world. I believe the way I run my business is extremely unique though. And I believe the skill set that I have across a wide range of detailing and the way I put those skills to work and the way I keep the customer a part of that process from beginning to end and beyond makes it one of the more unique business models. Few shops in detail businesses will reach the level that I have because I don't think most people will work as much as I do. How it goes far to say that the way I run my company is pretty unhealthy. The only way it's possible is because I enjoy it so much so I often don't feel like I'm working at all. But that also results to me doing way too much way too often lol. So don't be like me kids lol.
Wait, I didn’t know that start and stop the engine is bad for it during the break in? As long as you don’t start and stop every 5 mins, it should be ok!
When the car gets loaded on the truck it's basically started and then shut off almost immediately then when it gets moved off the truck it gets started to go backwards and then basically turned off immediately once parked in the shop. When we get around to washing it it started and then almost immediately turned off after his position for the wash. When the wash is over it started and then almost immediately turned off again once it's pulled back inside. This happens all over again on the second wash. And sometimes we need to start the car to move it forward or backwards a foot or two to have better access for PPF on the front or back bumper. In general that's a lot of short starts It also begins to drain the battery if we don't have tenders. Generally speaking all of these short starts is not very good for a brand new engine with no miles on it. Much better to let it warm up and added bonus is charging the battery so the first wash and second wash we usually run it and then the other potential moves we just turn off and on like if we need to move the car forward a foot for PPF purposes. Hope that makes sense! Horse breaking process is pretty hardcore. They don't want the car to rub over a certain amount for every couple hundred miles it increases. They also don't want you to keep the roads steady amount meaning they don't want you to drive 300 mi at 3000 RPM on the highway. They want the car to do 1,000 RPM in 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM and 4,000 RPM than 2000 and 3000 and 4000 etc. It should be like a variable thing so the engine breaks in nicely.
@@raphaelszok8561 ironically quality control often means taking a break and taking a nap and then coming back to it a few hours later to see what you missed when you were too tired to catch it. At least that's my system towards the end of the detail. He would be surprised what you find with fresh eyes. That's why I do quality control multiple times a day for several days in a row towards the end of the job!

Clay can definitely add swirls. I try to only use clay when I know I'm doing pain correction afterwards. If you really careful and you're doing it the right way you can really minimize swirls but in general you are correct It is likely to cause swirls with clay. It is also almost impossible to remove what clay removes with a different method. The only other method that comes close would be pain correction so if you're doing it anyways put clay on the car.

Another great detail Evan. We also use P&S Brake Buster and pre-spray and then foam with Brake Buster vs. car wash soap to add more cleaning power and lubricity. Have you tried that before?

I definitely prefer foam. That's been a interesting reoccurring question on this videos comments. Avery answered it a couple times so I'll give you the fast version. I definitely do that if a car is really really dirty This car was more dusty. And that's why I only did the rinse first 👍

Headlights don't need to be removed. The way I currently do them I tuck the film under and behind with them installed. Would be great to have the vents removed but also not super necessary. That's about a $30,000 hood if you make a mistake by the way. Worth the risk? Lol

@@BalrogSlayer666 possible but I really don't have issues with dust. In general any room will have some stuff floating around. My area is pretty clean. Most panels go on with zero issues. It's often on your pants or shirt and comes off and into the area your working.

Id this is reference to headlights? If the headlights delaminate I think you can sand them and clear coat then. I have heard of people swapping out the lense too

I like your style and the way you present these videos. @@joevanseeters2873 would love to do a car for you! I started posting shorts more recently and it's definitely not with the intention of replacing my normal content it's just a bonus of extra content.
Shorts are simply easy and fast to make. When you stack it all up it can pull in a decent amount of views and subscribers. In the past month or so I think we got around 150 subs or more from just posting shorts. So ultimately helps the channel grow and it's just one more way to do so. Especially when you emphasize the fast and easy nature of making the video.
These longer videos are definitely the main attraction but they also take a long time to film and edit and generally speaking just plan. But you guys tune in for this and not shorts lol.
Your work is amazing and I love the super attention to detail. I'm curious as to why you used a spray-and-rinse protectant on the wheels as opposed to a ceramic coating. Thanks for the awesome content.
@@archiepezek thanks! I typically use that during first wash to make things easy to dry and easy to dry after the second wash too. Then I ceramic the wheels later. I wipe a lot of prep on before coating and recommend WetCoat or hydro during customer washes especially when doing so much track time. The wheels on this car got ceramic coated twice actually.

@@1.thomasalmeida marolex is what I like for ppf. Adjustable spray and sprays upside down. I think the ik has a 360 version now. More importantly I currently use a detail key for PPF and it's way better!

So I heard back and the training may not be happening. They believe that it would be wasteful to learn unless you do it all the time immediately after so if thats the case would have to save up ALOT of money so i could quit my current job and get a business set up before learning or seeing if its something i would like. It would be ideal to get trained and then put the skills to work routinely. You could still begin to learn by watching a lot of videos and doing small stuff. Then when you want to go full time or good amount of part time then do the class.
Autofilmmastery I think it's called has paid classes online. I have never done that but it appears they have a massive library of how to install on different kinds of cars. And I would think give you a lot of knowledge. I don't think it's terribly expensive and is a monthly subscription. I've considered doing it in the past just to see how to do a lot of different cars that I've never worked on before because I think they have full classes on a large library of cars
Good job. Many would suggest foaming it, let it dwell THEN rinse the car for the first time. Foam again and contact watch w/o rinsing. Lessens the chance of high pressure water pushing dirt and grime into the paint. Of course, you’re the one entrusted with a $.5M car, not me.
@@MattDapson this is a great system especially on cars that are properly dirty. This has dirt that really primarily rinsed away. If it was properly filthy then your way is best. Agreed 🤝

great channel. 15 yrs ago i worked as a designer at a graphics company, i have been out of it, but i recall full wraps were usually done dry, does all PPF do wet application? dry usually sticks better when stretched and formed
@@nazmo_za9654 yea basically all wet for PPF. Some vinyl is wet too. But most vinyl is dry now. I think a company or two offers dry install PPF but it's rare. Vinyl and PPF adhesive are very very different

What is your experience/thoughts on a pre-rinse causing scratches by blasting dirt and grime into paint, vs a pre foam on dry paint, then doing pre rinse after foam dwells a few minutes. Is there any truth to the water only pre rinse precaution in your experience?
@@BrucePerformance rinse dirt off with water will not swirl or scratch unless your blowing like full proper gravel or rocks. Or ice or something. Pre foam can help on filthy cars. Not washed in months and covered in it. Still should not hurt car to rinse. But the pre foam will loosen more for rinse.
For normal wash I mix citrus foam and g wash. Both gtechniq. I rinse. Foam. Contact multiple microfibers. I wash frequently and this helps it go faster but still safe. If it's hammered I'll do citrus foam first. Then g wash.

Scratches swirls etc happen from dirt plus friction from a towel. Not water blowing dirt or dust off. At it's core water is the best lubrication during a wash. Soap obviously helps but it's the water and soap that makes lubrication for your towels. Soap just makes it more slippery and cleaning power. But blowing dirt off with water should never cause problems. The argument for pre foam is that it emulsifies the dirt and breaks it down making your rinse more effective. That's why it's more important or helpful on really dirty cars. Hope that clears up the internet nonsense lol
You called it, the “foam, rinse, foam” process for a normal wash will help sell some extra soap for sure!

@@pugh4real you never ppf Porsche headlights. They have a hydrophobic too coat that's like clear coat. When you pull the ppf your definitely going to pull that off and completely ruin the lens. All glass and trim and wheels etc are ceramic coated. STEK should release windshield protection film again soon I hope. It's been off market awhile now

whats the consensus on PPF on the headlights for a Porsche? I've heard they delaminate easily.
Basically guaranteed delamination. Porsche puts basically a clear coat on the lens. It's hydrophobic and probably UV resistance. The PPF will rip it off in patches and basically totally ruin it. Then you need to sand and re clear it basically. Most headlights don't have that. But we tend to no not PPF lights in general because it's a bit of a mystery what's in other headlights if anything. I do mostly Porsche.
I love the attention to detail and workmanship, but I really want to see cars like this driven and enjoyed and showing a bit of life. PPF for me is added weight and a waste of money and so hard to get off 3 years later

What did you used to coat the Alcantara?

In Europe the RS is back to MSRP. It won’t take long for the 3RS to hit back to MSRP here also. $500,000 USD for a 500 hp car is just stupid, and I’m a GT3 owner

@@STATUSDETAIL exactly. Porsche had a niche that made guys like us buy GT3s and GT3RSs but now they’ve gone into McLaren and Ferrari territory. Their cars were significantly under a Ferrari or Lamborghini. And now even the 718 Spyder is $225.000!! A Boxster RS a quarter million. It’s a 3.6 0-60 car. That’s like Lexus territory. They list their minds and they lost a loyal customer.
They took me a dyed in the wool 911 guy into owning a new Z06 while looking at Ferrari or McLaren. I had a 991.2 GT3 and they wanted me after 8 other Porsches to pay $75,000 over MSRP. I just don’t think the regular GT3 is a $300,000 car or the RS a $500,000 car. It’s got 500 horsepower. There are other cars with way more horsepower for the same or less. Hopefully

How come you are not using a plotter and xpel ppf and templates for perfect precut ppf for each panel? Have been using it here in Europe for few years now and its by far a lot easier and less time consuming to do and fits perfect every time.

I am just suprised that someone would not make their work easier and I went and looked up your story on 296 thats how it comes from a dealer thats their problem for having bad instaler and bad plotter files for it. My friend has a company which specializes in ppf install on supercars they have done ppf on aventador sv, and multiple porsche gt3 and rs and other models and brands and they use xpel. They tried other protection films and xpel works the best. And their plotter files fit perfect and I mean perfect all the corners tucked and everything. Not like the 296 you showed in your instagram story. I dont wanna hate on you or anything just saying what I know.

@@STATUSDETAIL As you wish, I only know that if it was better to do it like you then everyone would do it your way but here in europe everyone is using plotters even the company such as Topaz in UK which is a leading company in this sorts of stuff
@@markocimrmancic4308 I'm spoken about this a lot. Or does every do it the way that is fast and most profitable. Nearly all big shops including topaz have large staff. You can teach plotting fast it takes years to bulk like a pro. Big shops havevhifh turnover so they need to bulk to teach someone rapidly.

I've been in the industry nearly ten years. Been offering PPF for about 4-5 of those years. I've never seen a plotter job I liked. It's why we started installing bulk STEK. I have a specific video on this. Xpel is .... We use STEK for a reason....

what an outstanding job. you've given me some great advice before since I'm a 2nd party trying to fix some problems on my brothers 993 turbo. he had it ppf'd but in the early days of films. I know the problems I had with his newer car a cemet color 4runner pro. the edges of his ppf weren't lifting but somehow where letting dirt under all the edges. upon removal the shop told him that he was responsible for removing what I thought was overly excessive adhesive left behind. they offered to do it but for 1000+ dollars. there has been an ongoing issue between shop brother and film maker. I removed it but had to use solvent based adhesive removers as they were the only products I could get to remove it(it was only the front clip) what I'm worried about is what might happen with the non-clearcoated guards red paint on the 993. I use heat gun but will it be more apt to get damaged than clear coated paint I would imagine. I know your business isn't about giving free advice but if you support or know the best and safest product I should use I'd be grateful for your help/ you went above and beyond before and I certainly don't want to take your time up. I appreciate your obvious ultra high skill level and knowledge. I cant imagine doing this 992 with all the layers of panels to cover and hide seams. outstanding job you did!! again thank you so much for any recommendations you could provide. cheers
@@gregoryfranks7347 heat guns work great but steam is often better for removal. Gyeon tar is the best adhesive remover I have found. Let is sit and soak a min in shade then pressure wash the adhesive off. Might need to do it more than once. Wash the car really well with soap after that!
@@STATUSDETAIL I so appreciate the advice. I'm not familiar with that tar product but will find it and use that. As a previous detailer I figured it would possibly take a few applications to remove it all. I trust your advice as if it were FDIC insured. Your work speaks for itself. Sadly his cars were done with early ppf products so they are definitely antiquated as compared to what is available now. @@95VR407FA5 lol I don't wear them anymore. Weirdly I was pumping gas one day in rain and didn't realize I was standing in a lot of gas. It like soaked into the rubber and smelled like gas forever. Had to throw them out!!!
But I remember them being relatively comfortable. I wear sorel boots mostly now because they are waterproof and great for washing and ppf. I also wear some Nike shoes that are more comfortable than the metcon. But I really liked those!
What type of ppf film do you use?
STEK PPF! I say that a lot so often forget to say it in vids now. I'll try to remember that and say it!
the foam has to be first before rinsing water on the paint otherwise the small particles under water pressure will scratch the paint.

@@STATUSDETAILSorry but that's exactly how it works. It's foaming first to start breaking down the dirt on the surfaces then rinse then foam again if you intend to prevent scratches. Found this out myself on DIY Detail from Yvan LaCroix who has 30+ years in detailing. He goes around the country teaching detailing and has owned his own shop. But in the end you do it how you want but you may want to rethink your process. Your results are amazing and what an incredible car!

Yeah, I watch A LOT of you tube detailers and you definitely hold your own. These people have much deeper pockets and have a ton more backing, but I think if you were around them, they would shut up and listen when you spoke. Very impressive work, there is admiration on how autistic you are for the craft, and looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for watching and seeing the love that goes into this. Definitely lots of talented detailers in the world. I believe the way I run my business is extremely unique though. And I believe the skill set that I have across a wide range of detailing and the way I put those skills to work and the way I keep the customer a part of that process from beginning to end and beyond makes it one of the more unique business models.
Few shops in detail businesses will reach the level that I have because I don't think most people will work as much as I do. How it goes far to say that the way I run my company is pretty unhealthy. The only way it's possible is because I enjoy it so much so I often don't feel like I'm working at all. But that also results to me doing way too much way too often lol. So don't be like me kids lol.

Wait, I didn’t know that start and stop the engine is bad for it during the break in? As long as you don’t start and stop every 5 mins, it should be ok!
When the car gets loaded on the truck it's basically started and then shut off almost immediately then when it gets moved off the truck it gets started to go backwards and then basically turned off immediately once parked in the shop. When we get around to washing it it started and then almost immediately turned off after his position for the wash. When the wash is over it started and then almost immediately turned off again once it's pulled back inside. This happens all over again on the second wash. And sometimes we need to start the car to move it forward or backwards a foot or two to have better access for PPF on the front or back bumper.
In general that's a lot of short starts It also begins to drain the battery if we don't have tenders. Generally speaking all of these short starts is not very good for a brand new engine with no miles on it. Much better to let it warm up and added bonus is charging the battery so the first wash and second wash we usually run it and then the other potential moves we just turn off and on like if we need to move the car forward a foot for PPF purposes. Hope that makes sense!
Horse breaking process is pretty hardcore. They don't want the car to rub over a certain amount for every couple hundred miles it increases. They also don't want you to keep the roads steady amount meaning they don't want you to drive 300 mi at 3000 RPM on the highway. They want the car to do 1,000 RPM in 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM and 4,000 RPM than 2000 and 3000 and 4000 etc. It should be like a variable thing so the engine breaks in nicely.

@@raphaelszok8561 ironically quality control often means taking a break and taking a nap and then coming back to it a few hours later to see what you missed when you were too tired to catch it. At least that's my system towards the end of the detail. He would be surprised what you find with fresh eyes. That's why I do quality control multiple times a day for several days in a row towards the end of the job!

Clay can definitely add swirls. I try to only use clay when I know I'm doing pain correction afterwards. If you really careful and you're doing it the right way you can really minimize swirls but in general you are correct It is likely to cause swirls with clay. It is also almost impossible to remove what clay removes with a different method. The only other method that comes close would be pain correction so if you're doing it anyways put clay on the car.
