    PARTING & HAIR PREP
I pre-parted 10 rows going up the back and 14 rows going across the top.
First I moisturize my hair with a shea butter based product to lock in moisture. I parted four sections in the first row in the back and clipped them up. Next, I apply some shine-n-jam to each section and I plat the base of my hair passing the strands of hair about 13 times, and eave the ends.
I separated two pieces of hair from the bulk for each twist. I made the second piece slightly thinner than the first in order to create a seamless feed-in look for the twists. Since the hair comes in a bulk and not in individual strands, you have to use your judgment when separating the individual pieces of hair for installation. I tried to make the size the same amount of hair as I would use if I were installing the mini twists with synthetic hair. And I usually separate each strand the synthetic hair into four. After separating a strand of the kinky hair, I stretch it.
    INSTALL
I use the crochet latch hook to install the hair. I align my plat to the middle to the hair to make both sides even. Next, I combine my plat with one side of the kinky hair and begin twisting. When I get to the end of my plat, I separate the ends of my hair evenly with each side of the kinky hair and continue rope twisting. About a quarter or a little more of the way down, I feed in the second thinner strand of the kinky hair. I twist all the way to the ends of the hair.
I decided to incorporate the blonde pieces as highlights dispersed evenly throughout my head. So starting from the back, I did one row of all black. Second row, I installed two blonde twists, one on the ends of each side. Next row was all black. Fourth row, I installed one blonde twist in the middle. And I continued this spaced type of brick layering method with the blonde hair every other row throughout my head, until I got to the last four rows at the top middle of my head. where I made the rows all black, and added blonde accent pieces framing my face at the front of the two middle rows.
One all the twists are installed, I snip the scraggly ends.
    SET & STYLE
First, I moisturized the twists with some castor oil. Then I applied some mousse to the hair and my roots.
I used the yellow cold wave rods to curl the ends, I take three twists at a time and begin underneath where my hair ends in the twists and wrap to the ends, and I wrap in the direction away from the face.
Next I dip the ends into hot water. Since this is human hair, I just do a quick dip and take them out. Then I squeeze out the excess water with a towel and let it set overnight. I take down the rods the next morning and lightly separate the twists. And that's it!
I actually love these twists, more than I thought I would. Yeah ya’ll, I was bit under during the install process but they came out so cute in the end. The twists are very soft, there are no prickly strands sticking me on my scalp or in the back of my neck. And they’re very flexible and light. Thank you again to Queen Virgin Remy for allowing me to try this hair. Mini twists will never be the same!!

No disrespect to Nashae but people, since when could you set natural hair with hot water. Please, make it make sense! Qvr is trying to Duke us! The hair can't be 100% natural if you can do a hot water set with it. If you dipped natural hair in hot water, it would strip the natural oils, cause dryness and breakage. I'd like to thank you for posting this video. I almost bought this hair because people were going on and on about it. You were the only one who dipped the hair. I love your videos and respect your work!

Thank you for your comment Vikki! Allow me to elaborate on this for you.
Dipping the hair in hot water was an extra (any probably unnecessary lol) step that I decided to take. I did it out of habit as this too was my first time installing mini twists with human hair. If I would have just left the curlers in the hair overnight without dipping them, the ends of the twists would have curled just the same. I figured the water would help the curls set a bit quicker just as how you can curl your natural hair when it’s wet.
I can also confirm this is definitely human hair because the curls dropped after a week or two and I had to re-curl them again. Whereas, with synthetic hair, the curls would have remained in tact for the duration of the style.
And lastly, regarding the stripping of oils, I always add a bit of oil to the water before I dip the hair, to replenish any oils that may be stripped.
      Hope this helps 🤗!!

I might try this out! Did you blow dry your hair before the install?

How long did you keep this style in? Will it last longer than 8weeks since it's human hair?

    • @nashaeshainte
      @nashaeshainte  5 місяців тому

Great question!! I kept this style in for 4 weeks. If you keep it in longer than that, the hair will begin to loc. I had a warm time trying to take it out even after 4 weeks because the twists started to loc up. So that something to keep in mind with this hair! On the other hand, this hair is perfect for starting locs lol👌🏽.

@@nashaeshainte Good to know. So are you able to keep it on longer if it’s Non human hair?! Thank you ❤

@@cherylrb00 When I use synthetic hair, I can keep the style in for up to 2 months. The install with human hair only lasted about 4 weeks 🤷🏽‍♀️.
