It was so much better, in so many ways! We weren't overweight, didn't have to worry about our schools/churches/malls being shot up, and I honestly can't remember being a slave to fashion, except for banana purses, Levi's, and Bastad clogs, but maybe that was just me! We didn't have to look at someone's butt-crack, or their underwear, and we didn't need Ring Security Doorbells, cos we didn't have "porch pirates", etc., etc. It drives me nuts, when someone says things are the same now, as they were yrs ago...that we just have more info now. To some extent, that's true, but largely, nope, it's not true! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Me and my sister were just talking about the crap we ate growing up so this really hits!!! Not that we didn’t love it all at the time 😂

I remember all of those. Had those Dolly Madison with Charlies Brown and such on them. They were not that bad as I remember. One cereal I remember was " Quisp". The box had a pink kid on it with a propeller sticking out of his head. In the TV ads he would fly around. I did a Google search and looks like they brought it back sometime after it was discontinued in 1975.

I know of Quisp but I never had it. I did however enjoy Dolly Madison and I wish they were still around. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories!

@@RhettyforHistory, Back in the 1980's on first ship we were talking about things from our childhoods that were no longer made. One guy started talking about Quisp, how much he liked it and wish they would bring it back. His wish came true, you can buy it along with everything else on Amazon. LOL

Quisp had been brought back since
quite a while back. I've even seen it
on the shelves in a local supermarket.
However, Quisp also had a rival, Quake,
which, as far as I know, never came back...
& neither did its spin-off, Orange Quangaroos.
      Freakies--another great '70s cereal.
There was an altered version in the '80s,
but they never brought back the original.
They also never brought back Ka-Boom cereal.

Quisp was the bomb along with freakies, you could find me on most Saturday mornings in front of the TV watching Bugs Bunny with a small mixing bowl a box of one of those cereals and a glass bottle of milk cause we had our milk delivered. Those really were the days.

So many memories. Whatever happened to "King Vitamin" cereal? I loved it as a kid, maybe the name didn't have a lot of appeal.

I could swear it was "King Vitamin",

      I keep finding contradictory evidence
      that it was "King Vita-man".

Oh so many memories! We still have hickory farms stores at Christmas in Arizona. I remember these tidbits! As soon as they popped up I could remember what they tasted like. I also vaguely remember them being in a mix called doo dads?

Wow thank you so much for this I'd love to see more content like it the '70s were a magical time in so many ways and it may sound strange to say that but really it was we all miss it it's a shame with so many of us baby boomers we can't somehow bring some of it back

I remember being ten years old, and having the chocolate Crazy Cow for breakfast, a cinnamon or chocolate peanut butter koogle sandwich for lunch, and a Swanson's fried chicken for dinner while watching the Six Million Dollar Man. Those were good times.
