Hello Mr. Sheffield, Big fan here from India! Whenever I need advice to satisfy my green thumb cravings, I simply search for the issue and add "Sheffield" at the end-it always leads me straight to your channel. Your way of explaining things, paired with your humor, is absolutely brilliant! Please keep making videos; I'll watch every single one of them! 🌱😊
Well hello Mr. Sheffield! It's very late here in the States (or super early 🥴!) I don't think I've ever been present when an episode is newly published, so, 'Hi!' and thank you for helping me to figure out some of my most finicky plant problems. We appreciate your knowledge and hard work. 😅
I've watched quite a few plant channels at this point and this one remains my #1 favorite! Though my own philosophy of keeping house plants as a minimal cost hobby often conflicts with the products and accessories promoted in these videos, it's still interesting to learn about them and what they're capable of doing!
Thank you so much Richard, I really really enjoyed watching you talk about the new nutrition for plants that help our plants and how we can cut back and make cuttings for new plants. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
You did mention this, but once you’ve got the good mycorrhizae established in some soul, there’s generally no need to innoculare that soil again. There should be a live colony in your soil. In fact, that soil can be used as an innoculant. Just mix a little of the healthy soil into any other soil you’re using. And if you repot a plant, the micorrhyzae should spread from the plant’s roots (and any soil from the old container) into the new soil. About the only time you’d need to re-inoculate would be after doing something like drenching the soil with a fungicide or heat-sterilizing the soil (things you might do if you have serious disease or pest problems).
Good Day Mr Sheffield!!! Thank you for sharing this video!! Another awesome tip and showing us how it works!!! You are soooo right about giving it to our babies the one time and don't over fertilize!!! Super!!!
My plants are doing great thanks to you. And I started uploading plants videos also thanks to you. My family got tired of me talking to them about my plants so I turned my camera on.
I am going to catch up on all your videos during the cold days! Yup. I do love the info I am getting from your channel. Thanks much and I'm sure my plants would say the same thing! :-)
Big fan here from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 going into summer soon & my plants are growing well but I’m going to try & buy stuff.. thank I was born in Sheff by the way ☺️
Most people don’t realize how important symbiotic fungi and bacteria are for enabling plants absorb nutrients, and even water, from the soii. Even botanists have only become fully aware of this relationship during the past couple of decades.
The edges of my Charlie are browning and drying while the rest of the leaf is supple. Hoping to see if you have a video on that, if not, would you mind sharing your ideas?. My plants are happier having learned from you. Thank you so much!
How often do you have to repot? I'm thinking of using it for my new baby plants and my young monstera, but don't want to end up repotting every few months. My question is does it help the growth of the leaves or mainly the roots?
Hi Mr. Sheffield! May I have a suggestion? When you mention another video to watch at the end, would you mind leaving us some time to run and click on it? 😁 I often listen to you while doing house chores but before I manage to run to my phone, the video is gone 🥲 (hope I explained it well, Im not a native speaker 😅🫣) Love your videos btw!
You will have more than enough raiwater at your new house! Lovely new house&garden by the way. Lots and lots of space for new plants! 💚 Happy Black Friday shopping 😄 Btw -The only problem with mycorrhizae is the surface area of roots often increase so much that you will have to repot your house plant more often. What has been your experience?
@@SheffieldMadePlants But does it cause much faster leaf growth or mainly just the roots? I've got several baby plants - would they grow faster over the winter if I add the mycorrhizae to them now and keep them under grow lights? So I don't have to wait till Summer to see some significant growth. 🌱🪴
Awesome video. Rich, I just picked up a schlumbergera truncata(thanksgiving cactus). It's coming into bud. Do you have one, could you do a video on them? Peace.
Hi mate, thank you for always sharing handy tips. I just wanted to check whether a tinted window would impact the growth of my plants. I had my window tinted and my room was getting way to warm in summers.
a plant using an artificial trellis like that will not encourage large leaves though... its not jus the height that triggers larger growth, it's the aerial roots being able to draw more water and nutrients from the moss pole/tree
I'm trying to grow a queen of the night plant it puts out runners, I wonder if this trellis would help. It's still a baby, I started it from a leaf. It's not a very pretty plant now but I have hope
@SheffieldMadePlants you are the best! I just recently found your channel and newly subscribed. You have loads of valuable information, all delivered in an easy to understand way and I adore your sense of humor. Thanks so much for responding!
Will my monstera by ok if it is next to an English ivy? The monstera leaves are not touching it but one of them is a bit close to it. I’m sure it will be ok but I thought I’d check with the expert 😊

We're you able to find one? I'm here nsw aswell and having difficulty 😅
Also my monstera recently unfurled a lovely fenestrated leaf
Thank you for the Treleaf discount! I scored a nice gift for myself for the holidays!
This was absolutely fascinating! I immediately added it to my Amazon cart.

Thats also what you use when planting root ball roses in autumn
I was thinking the same thing. Never thought of using it for my houseplants. Thanks Mr. Sheffield
You seem cheeky and I like it...
Wow I've been using it for 25 years it definitely makes a big difference in the plants

"Jungle Leaves" has made a good Video about Schlumpergera (Weinachtskaktus auf deutsch) on YT last Week.
Great job 😊

Hi mate, thank you for always sharing handy tips. I just wanted to check whether a tinted window would impact the growth of my plants. I had my window tinted and my room was getting way to warm in summers.
Yes the light will be reduced
I learned about that fungi last year from all the places you’ll grow UA-cam channel. She calls it root crack 😂
Thanks, I was wondering if her "root crack" is what we were talking about!
How do you use it on plants that you don't repot? Such as the satin pothos?
Superb video thank you sir😊
Thanks!
How would this help succulents?
Do you think using worm castings would be the same?
No it’s a different thing

Plant root powder and root max is same thing?
Great video - is adding mycorrhizal fungi something to do anytime of year or mostly during the growing season?
Any time i'd say
@SheffieldMadePlants do you have any recommendations or links for a specific brand?
@ I use rootmax

I’m thinking my Monstera will be okay, but what do you think?
@@Coins_4_U I don’t see why not
Hello commenting after so long !
Does adding little bits of banana peels help indoor plants? Great for outside tomatoes
I don’t do that
How is it packaged? Any names?
I have some snake plant cuttings that have yet to root. It's been 6 months. :/
I did that several years ago. They take quite some time to root.
Ph 8 is not slightly acidic. Is it?
Alkaline

This is why I use espoma organic potting soil. Everyone wonders why my plants are bigger than theirs. Its my secret.
