Hello Bhawana. I'm from Biratnagar, Nepal and I applied to LSU for my master's in CS. I received the admission now I'm looking for the RA with my professor. I have not requested for my i20 yet. The funding will be provided by the professor first or directly it will be mentioned there in i20. What do you suggest should I keep trying to seek funding or go for my i20? I have already published 3 research papers and 3 patents and I have mentioned all my background to the university.
@BhawanaAcharya Thank you Bhawana for your reply. I mailed the professor of the entire department individually by visiting their profile and knowing their background and interests. More or less all the professors profiles do align with my profile as my undergraduate and work experience is in the same field for the program which I applied. I received 10-12 replies from them but they mentioned the position is not available, no more funding, getting retired, etc. I gave them a detailed overview about myself, projects, work experience, research papers and patents which have been published along with acceptance letter. Can we apply for a PhD directly without a masters degree?

Congratulations ❣️ the best time to start is NOW. For this fall, deadlines have already passed I suppose, you should target for spring 2025, whose deadline is in around October 2024 (check Uni website though).
Hi. i see that some faculty members are profressors where as some are assistant profressors , lecturers or research investigators. can I email lecturers and assistant professors for any kinds of assistantship?

You can search TA ship or RAship in LSU if you already got admission. Email professors and tell them you have got admission already

Hi Siyana, it is okay to email others except lecturers because they only teach and doesn’t take assistants.

Can we do outside jobs in masters?or only on campus job?
If you are in assistantship, you’ll be appointed as RA or TA for 20 hrs per week which is full week hours allowed for international students.
what to write in SOP?
That would be very hard to explain here. But there are websites and YT videos which helps to get an idea.
