Okay, now put on pads and go full speed. No one initiates an attack in that manner, so start with head butts, two handed shoves and sucker punches. Oh, and give the uke a rubber training knife, but don’t tell sensei.
There is this old guy at the gym that practice with short sticks. He uses boxing footwork and head movements while striking with the sticks like extensions of his fists. He doesn't do any traps or anything like that. He guards with the sticks like a boxer would.
As I watch this video I realize more and more that Martial Arts contain fighting as well as bullshit. @0:13 The teacher obviously didn’t do 1000 repetitions of this technique. He didn’t repeat it enough times and he is sloppy. In addition, no one on the street “has time to accomplish this technique off of a punch.” When someone is caught up in the moment of attack, this scenario is not likely to happen. But after clinching, one may go into grappling mode, but during an initial attack will get you beaten and maybe incarcerated. This video is good for educational purposes, not combat. I “find the combat applications” in these videos, and research when and where to employ them if I choose to. Bruce Lee, for example criticized Filipino Martial Arts saying FMA is good for Fighting, good for Show, and good for Nothing.
Thank you wise teacher for the superlative instructions.

I hope he posts a video here on UA-cam! Sounds super effective.
