Bill & Ted 3: Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Why You Might Want to Avoid the Bill and Ted Cereal

- With director Dean Parisot’s Bill & Ted Face the Music being released on demand and in theaters on August 28, I recently spoke with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter about making the long awaited sequel. During the interview, Reeves and Winter talked about the long development process, why you might not want to eat the Bill and Ted cereal that came out in the early 90s, their favorite Bill and Ted merchandise, the great makeup and prosthetics by Bill Corso and Kevin Yagher, why they were excited to play the different versions of Bill and Ted in Face the Music, the always positive relationship between the characters, and more. In addition, they talked about something most people don’t know: how Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure sat on the shelf for a year with everyone involved being told it was never going to be released.
In Bill & Ted Face the Music, William "Bill" S. Preston Esq. and Theodore "Ted" Logan have reached middle age without having fulfilled their rock and roll destiny. As the universe starts falling apart, the best friends must find a way to write the song that has eluded them for decades. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters (Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine) a few music legends, and a new batch of historical figures. Written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face the Music also stars Kid Cudi, Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, William Sadler, Hal Landon Jr. and Amy Stoch.

Keanu is such a cool dude and Ted was always my favorite when I was younger, but I've really come to massively appreciate Alex, who brings so much character and spirit to this franchise - the movies just wouldn't be the same without him. It's terrific casting. Apparently the two lads quickly hit it off as buddies at the audition, and the producers saw them goofing around in the corridor, so it was the obvious choice. Casting is all about chemistry! Just a shame the third film took so long A 1995 release would have been ideal, with George Carlin as Rufus! :-) Let's get in the phone booth and change the past! :-)
Yeah, they were also paired with other actors auditioning, and they always went right back to it when paired up again. They had the best chemistry, because they had so much in common already and could forget it was a movie. Think about the fact that Pauly Shore was almost Ted... let that sink in for a minute. After 5 minutes of him trying to perfect the Weasel, he would seriously be harshing my mellow. Right guys, right time.

That was a great interview, good questions and the interviewer seemed genuinely interested in wanting to know the answers. Alex and Keanu looked like the wanted to be there and were enjoying the process. A very wholesome interview, thanks guys :)
Keanu looks more comfortable here than I have seen him in years...I don’t know if it’s Alex doing the interview with him or that he’s in a neutral place (not in someone’s studio) or both but it puts my soul at ease.
I would love to see Alex Winter more in films. He is very handsome and brilliant actor as is Keanu.

That was my favorite movie when it came out. Loved all the odd characters and just how off the wall and funny it. Mr. T's intro was the best. He gets out of his 18 wheeler huge beard and meets Randy Quaids character they talked Quaids character tells Mr. T. Hey you'd look better without a dick...Mr. T all pissed off ready to fight then Quaids character says but you can keep the beard and they hugged. So dumb yet so damn funny!
He directed it. Keanu was Dog Boy.
Back to the Future was the best trilogy in my book. Each movie is awesome on their own, but work together seamlessly. I get the feeling, this might just take the title of all time favorite trilogy. Not long till I can, party on dude...

It happened because Keanu was an excellent dude in the John Wick series and became current once again. But I'm still waiting to this day a sequel of Constantine 😍🙏
It's funny, because Ralston, which was owned by Purina, actually put out some of the best cold cereals of the 80's and early 90's. It's a shame they went out of business. Cold cereals now don't taste nearly as good.
Ironically never saw it on the shelf, then big lots had cases of it, with this phone booth that could hold 5 caset tapes, attached to the front, I put milk in the cereal and it immediately turned to mush, so I called the 800#, and their like that's 2 yrs out of date where did you buy it, I wanted more phone booth toys so I hung up, to save big lots....
The cereal tasted fine when I was a kid. I remember playing with the little blue plastic phone booth it came with.

lol, the cereal was made by Ralston, which makes Purina dog food. The cereal wasn't actual dog food. lol
Indeed, the Ralston division of Ralston Purina was a major cereal maker at the time, with brands including Chex and Cookie Crisp.
Its branded cereal business was sold to General Mills in 1994. Its private-label cereal business continued as Ralcorp (and re-entered the branded cereal business by acquiring Post, which was later spun off) and currently belongs to Conagra Brands, one of the world's largest food companies.

Alex Winter forgot or is lying about him trying the cereal. He tried it in an interview, where he also said the Bill & Ted TV Series stinks.
I would guess the only time he tried it was durring the Arsenio Hall interview were he was being asked about a live action show, he wasn't part of, plus he, was cut from the animated show when fox wanted the tv show actors, and the movie pt 2 was delayed.
@@petewillson205 That logic is flawed in one area. According to the broadcast dates the Live show happens after the Animated show broadcast it's final episode.
@@maxcardun the live show was produced for the fall, they made a weird deal with the movie studio, the show was held back till after bogus journey made a profit, then fox burned it off Sunday nights over the summer part of Fox original program ing effort, with Revamped Parker Lewis.
IT is bad, you can find it on UA-cam. The animated episodes using new voice actors launched in fall on fox, this was the Dic version using the tv show actors, after the yr 1 version on CBS had aired the yr previous using the movie voices.
Arsenio Hall interview is on UA-cam as well, ending with Alex and Arsenio eating the cereal and talking about the live action. Show
He hasn't got into the booth to go back into the past to eat the cereal yet
