    Good info. I can see there is much more needed than creating a simple action map, but addressing the subjective, decision-making abilities of the interviewers. I think Devlin referred to this as "fluffy," and they talked about ways to improve knowledge and skills with scenario-based learning. Wow, it can get really complex!

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT 2 роки тому +1

      Cathy Moore’s book helps a lot with this! But yes, we’re trying to cut down to the observable actions...when we have those as a blueprint, it makes designing practice activities much easier 😃

    I really love her point about not using solution words too early. This was great fun! Talking about clunky software made me thinking about time volunteering as a paralegal for an Immigration Law Clinic that worked with refugees. The work arounds we came up with to use INS Websites and such was...something. I actually did some job aids for them years ago. I'm wondering if I could do some updates now that I have better tools...and action mapping :)

    I’m appreciating the alien foster example because we have been going through a similar process getting licensed as foster parents.
    One thought came to mind re: how to break down the “energy vibe” piece and I think it could be addressed by teaching the agents to ask good questions to gather more data to decide about the fit.
    For example, prior to going through the checklist that explains what’s not allowed as punishment, lead by asking a scenario situation and how they would handle it. Then go over the checklist. Just a thought. Training/practices for asking revealing questions.
