I love Mori's whistle note on this song, but I love the clarity of Jona's voice when she sings this song, the runs, low and high notes, shiftings.. and of course the head tone. Voice control tlga ang pambato ng batang to.

Jona is a Coloratura Soprano and her technique is obviously similar with the Opera Singers. It's pretty evident that she's capable of singing up to "high F" (F6) without utilizing her vocal production associated with the whistle register, she most of the time remain in her modal register. She can even sing staccato notes in rapid succession. Mariah and Jona's technique is quite different. Mariah's voice depreciated through the years and Jona on the other hand resorted to a conventional technique that can preserve her voice for a long time. What a smart lady!

I believe the whistle register, as it is technically defined, is most commonly used to produce pitches above C6. Jona hit E6 on her first try and F6 on her second try. So, technically it can qualify as a whistle register. However, whistle register does not begin at the same point within every voice. Rare voices like those of operatic sopranos can sing up to the "high" F above "high" C without entering into the whistle register. And yes, Jona is among these rare voices.
I read from Wikipedia citing the source, "The Diagnosis and Correction of Vocal Faults: A Manual for Teachers of Singing and for Choir Directors" by James McKinney, that in European classical music, the whistle register is used primarily by coloratura sopranos. Jona is a spinto-coloratura soprano (as I have learned) and this type of repertoire extends beyond "high C" and often extends up to high F (F6). Although many coloratura sopranos use whistle tone vocal production to sing these notes, some operatic sopranos are capable of singing up to "high F" (F6) without utilizing the vocal production associated with the whistle register but remaining in the modal register. I believe Jona is the ONLY (if not among the few) PH pop singer capable of doing that. That being said, most coloratura sopranos do utilize the whistle register, particularly when singing staccato notes in rapid succession, during high trills, or other elaborate coloratura ornamentation in the upper tessitura. These instances were also exhibited by Jona in her past Aria performances.
Overall, Jona is a superb talent. As what Regine Velasquez - Alcasid has said during Jona's Fearless Concert, "I have never seen anybody like you. It's true."

F6ata nakuha niya... it is a headvoice... not a true whistle note... it imitated the sound of whistle... but itwas great... it is clear...
She even hit C6 with mixed voice.
JP whistle register is a disconnected register among the rest. Jona's was a super headvoice or high headvoice. Headvoice, falsetto and whistle are entirely different and u can easily notice that according to the production of sound. Head voice was called that way because u can literally feel the notes vibrating in your head. Best example is Whitney Houston. Falsetto is way softer and airy in sound because it is meant as false voice. Best examples are Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey. Whistles however, lies on top of all registers and is disconnected. U can produce this sound through the back of vocal folds. Best examples are Mariah Carey, Minnie Riperton, Nina Hagen and Chante Moore.
