The best 70-200 out there for hiking or landscape. A great compact design and I like the MACRO bonus 👍

Great review! Thanks. Is there a firmware update for this lens?

So, not ACTUALLY "macro" unless I buy a separate tele-converter. No mention of whether that tele-converter stretches or shortens the minimum focusing distance. And no mention of what the actual working distance is with or w/out the tele-converter... And at 70mm or 200mm.
You are leaving a lot of info unstated for a lense that costs $1,700.

15% shorter, but it telescopes out. I prefer my internal-zoom V1.

More F4 slow glass... Canon has had an 85mm F1.2 RF for 4+ years now trouncing Sony. Where is the 85mm F1.2 GM? Is the E-Mount too small to let in enough light compared to the Z & RF mounts?

@@XionskyZ doesn’t matter if they release an 85mm F1.2 at this point Canon has them checkmated, because the moment Sony announces the 85, Canon drops their 35mm F1.2 RF. The only way for Sony to compete is to flip over the chessboard with a 24mm F1.2

1.2 is only a third of a stop difference from 1.4, so really nothing to write home about. Better to have a more compact size, that's a difference you notice.

      @@XionskyZ I always hike with the 50GM on the A1 & 20G on the A7R4a. Give me a 24GM F1.2 to slap with the 50GM F1.2 and I will cause a revolution
