There are some great base cards in this set, one of the coolest themed sets for sure... but maybe I'm a bit biased because I grew up in the 80s and also did sketch cards for this set too ;)
yeah we used to have lots of those little toys. i guess they were more like figurines because you couldn’t move anything on them, they were stuck in whatever position/pose they were in.
Back in 1986 I kept asking my brothers why I couldn't find any 1st series cards and I didn't know until now that it's because people bought them up as soon as they hit the stores. To this day I still don't have them but I'm saving up for a nice set on ebay.

There is an '80s-themed sitcom out there, produced by Adam Goldberg, which is called "The Goldbergs." As far as historical accuracy goes, the show falls short -- but it's pretty mindless fare to watch when it's on!
I have those cards, bought the whole box for $69.00 at Toy Vault, I really like the movie ones as well, there is some that I don't have that you have I still need Rumpled Rocky and Bite-Outta Otto and V.C Arnie & Blockhead Blake, I do have the Pint-Size Prince and Peg Warmers, Gruesome Gallergher & Batty Manny, Drunk Konrad
Sounds like you bought either a hobby box or a retail box. Most of the time they get you real close to a full set. VC Arnie and Blockhead Blake are exclusive to that value pack I opened. And no bathroom buddies for me, those are pretty dang cool though.
I'm not sure if it was a hobby box or a retail box, I did get the exclusive We hate the 80's at Target it has 22 cards I did get some today, they also have I believe it's a retail box for $9.99, the exclusive packs cost $4.99 that's cheap for 22 cards, I will have to agree with you about the bathroom buddies they are pretty dang cool

The one with the cassette tape and pencil stabbing it, reminds me of rewinding tapes when my Walkman was low on batteries with a pencil! Good times!

My brother's bought some of the first series in 85. Those are the only ones I have in my collection and they aren't in very good shape.

Pretty much anywhere Topps sells cards. Hobby shops, box chains like Walmart and Target.

Yeah, these are making fun of the cabbage patch kids.. or they were originally. Topps actually got sued over it in the 80s.

No, I have a place I pre-order from, so they arrive day of release. If it's an older set, 9 times out of ten I've bought them from eBay.
