Miss Estruch I wanted you to know the impact your videos have had on me. I got a 9 in Biology at GCSE, I loved it so much. But I struggle with ASD, chronic fatigue, and anxiety, which made going to school really hard for me. I attended school for some of year 12, but at the end of year 12 I experienced a huge trauma that left me unable to attend school at all. I tried to attend again in year 13, but unfortunately I had missed so much work and my biology teacher did nothing to help me catch up, I emailed her everyday asking her for work to do, she never responded to a single email and I ended up missing almost the whole of Year 13. Both my Mum and I emailed so many times asking for a meeting, or for work to be sent home so that I could pass Biology at least, but she completely abandoned me. I sat my paper 1 last week, after not hearing from my biology teacher in months, and it went so well, thanks to your videos. I'm now using your videos to learn paper 2 content, and I'm so grateful to have this resource, it's the difference between me failing and passing. I'm really glad that you actually teach the content, rather than just skimming over it as a revision guide. The time that you have put into your videos is the reason why so many students will be able to overcome all the barriers stopping them, and achieve great results that they can be proud of. Thank you so much.
😵💫
are you sure that your teacher didn't leave the school. anyway, best of luck with your exams.
Best of luck for tommorrow.
You should file a complaint and get her fired icl
I understand this so much. I had an 8 at gcse, and could manage my anxiety and autism. Come year 12, I’m hospitalised for almost the entire year and no matter how much I catch up I always feel behind everyone else, and I have no motivation to do anything. Have my paper 2 mock tomorrow, I know I’m not going to do great but I’ll try my best. I hope your life is going better now 💜

I am unfathomably cooked
no ur not, watch this video 2 times on 2x speed (or use a chrome extension to make it faster) and then as u go through it write anything ur likely to forget e.g. the word chemiosmosis, and then u have a sheet to go through. lastly do an exam paper, but after u answer each question look at the mark scheme (or a walkthrough) sm stuff has set answers e.g. to increase absorption u always say microvilli and more carrier/channel proteins. you got this. reply if u have any questions. there is still a few days.
also i recommend depending on ur brain, imagining everything, like actually visualize respiration, or a bug chilling under a log in its niche, this helps me remember stuff without the need for heavy memorization, hence why chem is where i am burnt beyond consumption
pioneer species result in a thin layer of humus or humus the food as i chose to remember it by
also watch 10 minutes, then blurt, then another 10, and so on. then when u get to like 40 minutes blurt all.
wow, this is amazing advice!!!!
@@aflowerofsomesort66I forget so easily and rn there is no time to blurt because I need to watch topic 7 nd 8 today and tackle past papers today what do you recommend I do pls although I understand everything I’ve learnt so far that’s topic 5 nd 6(apart from structure of nephron) I keep forgetting the key terms to use when I’m like showering or eating nd trying to remember the content😢

Can you record a version of this in 2x speed so I can listen in 4x speed? This will theoretically let me revise topics 5-8 87.27272727272727 times before my exam
get a chrome extension, I use video speed mode. it lets me do it upto 160x speed, but perosnally i find 2.3 the sweet spot. if ur able to comprehend at 4x speed then go for it
😂😂 rapid speed Miss Estruch
how will you take anything in🤣
just me being pedantic, but 1:23:10 slow and fast twitch fibres dont actually have designated locations in the body, they are just present in different proportions in the body depending on adaptations. for example, a 100m sprinter will have a high proportion of fast twitch fibres throughout their body due to the explosive nature of their sport, compared to a marathon runner who will have a high proportion of slow twitch fibres due to the endurance aspect of their sport. this probably isnt on the spec, but just useful to know :)
i can run really fast for a long time too

1:02:20 Does anything happen to the Na/K pump during the action potential?
all you need to know is that it isn't active, ,since its used to restore resting potential, not to form an action potential
Hi Miss Estruch, i just wanted to know do i need to learn about ogazaki fragments stuff as ive seen some videos mentioning those but i dont see it in the aqa spec, will tthere be any possible questions on ogazaki fragments in the exam?

do you need to know the exact steps for antibiotic-resistance marker genes??
I dont think so? the spec says "Students will *not* be required to recall specific marker genes in a written paper" so i think as long as you have the concept of antibiotic resistant genes being used to identify recombinant cells then youre good
Hi do we need to know ADH and how it increases the permeability of DCT and collecting ducts?
You dont need to know the ins and outs of HOW it makes them more permeable - just that more ADH makes the DCT and collecting duct more permeable so more water can be reabsorbed back into the body if water potential is too low resulting in more concentrated urine
@@mariahasan1350 need to know about aquaporins embedding themselves in collecting duct im fairly sure
@@joshuabennett3447 really?? Damn I didn’t get taught that! Is that all we need to know?
I can’t believe that this was in the exam!
I thought the H+ ions are actively transported out of the thylakoid into the thylakoid space, not the stroma, then via the ATP synthase back into the thylakoid not the stroma?
protons are actively transported across the thylakoid membrane into the thylakoid space from the stroma. The pumping of electrons via the electron transport chain and those produced by photolysis establishes an electrochemical gradient - higher concentration of protons in the thylakoid space than stroma.
Protons then diffuse (facilitated) through ATP synthase. The shape of ATP synthase changes as protons move through which releases energy causing ADP + Pi to form ATP.
