I thank you guys so much for giving us a picture of your lives with all the beauty, joy, love and gratitude that was present in your gathering--it was wonderful to see! I lost my husband a few months ago and my sister last year, so my heart has not had much time to heal, and the wonderful gatherings like this in my family are no longer. This reminded me so much of those days--thank you for reminding me that though you may have lost the people you love, you can still find love around you--all you have to do is look and be open. Today I had a fairly quiet dinner with friends--my first social event without my husband, and though I worried about how I might be affected emotionally, everything went very well--not the same, but lovely in it's own way. Life goes on, but never take it for granted , and give thanks for every part of it. That is why I am thanking you for this wonderful look at the love! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm from Minnesota! The way I was raised is grits are eaten with butter and salt. Cream of Wheat (Malt'O'Meal), which is very similar in texture and taste, is eaten with sugar and butter!

I'm from Ohio... Live in Tennessee now. I always grew up with cream of wheat which reminds me of grits. I never tried grits until I moved to Tennessee. Butter & sugar! Never tried cheese but I bet that's awesome!
I live in Rhode Island- and yes we have grits! I've always eaten them sweet, with butter and a tiny tiny bit of maple syrup. (I think the maple syrup was just a way to get me to eat them when I was younger.) I love them and yes Katie I buy the exact same box you had! -Emily ❤️

Funny story here. I gave birth to my daughter in SC 19 years ago. I am from the West Coast. The morning after she was delivered, the hospital gave me a breakfast plate. I told my husband "What? Mashed Potatoes in the morning?" They were grits. I wasn't a fan. However, I grew to like them and the recipe came back to WA State with our family. I truly miss the traditions of the South. Your family is a reflection of everything I love most of my 5 years in SC. I LOVE your channel. God Bless!

Katie, you need to organize your spice rack alphabetically. For example, 1st spice holder will have spices from A-F, 2nd spice holder G-L and so on. That is how I keep mine and so easy to find what you need. Hope it helps.
