i never think of the voice as an instrument until i hear singing like these ladies. their voices are really just fine-tuned instruments with soul. so amazing
Some may argue it wasn't the number one Garage tune of that wonderful era, but surely, surely, Flowers must go down as the most prominent of them all.
I still remember the first time I heard it on a popular Pirate station even before it had hit the mainstream. That weekend, I went up to the DJ at Pals in Croydon
demanding he play the song (I barely knew the title and so had to hum it to him) and once he did, you should have seen the dancefloor erupt!!
Even to this day, Flowers and UK Garage in general still bring a tear to my eye just reminiscing about all those wonderful club nights in Croydon.
there's something that can't be recreated organically without multiple voices harmonizing like that
Still an absolute banger after all these years
This tune still bangs.
An absolute classic, performed brilliantly 👏🏽
Always and will be an old skool banger 🔥🔥🔥
Wow I’ve never seen what the ladies behind this hit look like they sounded so good this is my favourite garage song 🔥😍
Only the main singer is the original. The other girl didn't want to be in the music industry and now own's a florists ironically! (the very last part of the last sentence may not be true!)😄

@@thisiscrln it was announced a few weeks ago. Mutya and Siobhan put up pictures and Snapchat videos of them recording the song and then DJ Spoony confirmed it. They are also performing at his Royal Albert Hall show in October. We don't know if it will be as MKS or Sugababes yet.
This song is so underrated. Bangin tune

Welcome back, girls :) I see you both in a great shape :)
Timeless summer tune.
Just to show you how music passes on over time, this song is a sampled version of the classical piece Gymnopedie No.1 and THEN Pinkpantheress came and sampled this song for her song “Pain”. Music is beautiful man.
Banging Choon and just loving this version!

Go RAK-SU tomorrow night!!!
They sang the vocal cuts? 😮
Why can't you find any original of this song 😐
@@lemuelchemabus5680 hes not talking about the other sampled ones but about the original not sunship edit
i believe that there is no original as they hit nr 1 with the sunship edit back in '99 or '00 - www.discogs.com/release/1281381 , en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flowers_(Sweet_Female_Attitude_song)
Hold tight Erik Satie
Pinkpantheress Sample😭
OH YES OH YES 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Who's here after watching "SuperShy" by New jeans????
Uch, BBC you ruined this. The mixing engineer probably did well, but adding a heavy compressor/limiter profile was not necessary at all. Your [broadcasting] audio processors do such a good job at clipping, limiting and multiband compressing nowadays that there really isn't a need to pre-compress audio - ESPECIALLY not when you muck it up this bad. :< #DefundTheBBC #IWantMyMoneyBack lol
my jjaaamm, and I'm 19. This is not even from my time lmao
Which classical piece is that first bit? I recognise it but not sure what it is
AJ Tracey & Jorja Smith brought me here
Jimmy said you his
This is not really a track that works well live! Its a fast RPM Garage tune enhanced in the studio by tempo tweaks and cuts.
Thought it was just me. Something is a little off. I think it's the speed as well.
@@msla7623they didn't call it speed garage for nowt. Still would pay to see this live
🔥🔥🔥🔥check out tbarz 14 yr old rapper lost his mum age 12. doing good things
Neat sounds like he did when I was 15 loool
🤍🤍🤍
WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Are they the original Sweet FA? Don't look like em.
Proper sounds of the summertime and an amazing tune only to be ruined yet again by another garage mc with diluted lyrics.
are you madd do you know who MC NEAT is an absolute legendry Garage original mc
I always thought the b side track 8 days a week was better then this
rpw rpw absolutely agree....8 days a week was a banger but for some reason it never got any love at all!!!
Mitesh Chauhan yea Its crazy how it didn't get the love how flowers did when I think it's the better song out of them both
i don't know who comes up with these new compositions, but they don't really do justice to the original - everything sounds out of tune
I just clocked that flowers contains samples of one of my favourite classical songs Gymnopédie No.1. Mind blown....garage meets classical music and all this time i did not know. This is why i love music....the gift that keeps on giving
Nicole Dixon for real I just clocked that 👌🏾👌🏾
Nicole Dixon just had the exact same realisation, mind blown!
Same.... Fucking hell.. Great intro..
Same here!
THANK YOU FOR THIS, i've been hearing this sample pop up and i couldn't find the origin. now, case closed.
